Imagine if it were possible to create 3D objects in the palm of your hand within seconds using only a single photonic *** 3D printing has revolutionized the way we create in nearly every aspect of modern society,current 3D printers rely on large and complex mechanical systems to enable layer-by-layer addition of *** limits print speed,resolution,portability,form factor,and material *** there have been recent efforts in developing novel photocuring-based 3D printers that utilize light to transform matter from liquid resins to solid objects using advanced methods,they remain reliant on bulky and complex mechanical *** address these limitations,we combine the fields of silicon photonics and photochemistry to propose the first chip-based 3D *** proposed system consists of only a single millimeter-scale photonic chip without any moving parts that emits reconfigurable visible-light holograms up into a simple stationary resin well to enable non-mechanical 3D ***,we experimentally demonstrate a stereolithography-inspired proof-of-concept version of the chip-based 3D printer using a visible-light beam-steering integrated optical phased array and visible-light-curable resin,showing 3D printing using a chip-based system for the first *** work demonstrates the first steps towards a highlycompact,portable,and low-cost solution for the next generation of 3D printers.

Electron Beam Welding (EBW) is employed to both melt and unite materials, influencing their thermal history and subsequently determining the microstructure and properties of the welded joint. Welding Titanium alloys involves undergoing local melting and rapid solidification, subjecting the material to thermal stresses induced by a thermal expansion coefficient of 9.5 × 10 m/m°C. This process, reaching range temperatures from the full melting alloy to room temperature, results in phase formation dictated by the thermodynamic preferences of the alloyed elements, posing a significant challenge. Recent efforts in simulation and calculations have been undertaken elsewhere to address this challenge. This study focuses on a joint of two plates with differing cross-sectional areas, influencing heat transfer during welding. This report presents a case study focusing on the metallurgical changes observed in the microstructure within the welded zone, emphasizing alterations in the cooling rate of the welded joint. The investigation utilizes optical metallography, Vickers’s Hardness testing, and SEM (scanning electron microscopy) to comprehensively characterize the observed changes in addition to heat transfer simulation of the welded zone.

We develop a computationally efficient scheme to accurately determine finite-temperature band gaps for metal halide perovskites belonging to the class ABX_(3)(A=Rb,Cs;B=Ge,Sn,Pb;and X=F,Cl,Br,I).First,an initial estimate of the band gap is provided for the ideal crystalline structure through the use of a range-separated hybrid functional,in which the parameters are determined non-empirically from the electron density and the high-frequency dielectric ***,we consider two kinds of band-gap corrections to account for spin-orbit coupling and thermal vibrations including zero-point *** particular,the latter effect is accounted for through the special displacement method,which consists in using a single distorted configuration obtained from the vibrational frequencies and eigenmodes,thereby avoiding lengthy molecular *** sequential consideration of both corrections systematically improves the band gaps,reaching a mean absolute error of 0.17 eV with respect to experimental *** computational efficiency of our scheme stems from the fact that only a single calculation at the hybrid-functional level is required and that it is sufficient to evaluate the corrections at the semilocal level of *** scheme is thus convenient for the screening of large databases of metal halide perovskites,including large-size systems.

Nutritional stimulation of the developing small intestine of chick embryos can be conducted by in-ovo feeding(IOF).We hypothesized that IOF of glutamine and leucine can enhance small intestinal development by promoting proliferation and differentiation of multipotent small intestinal epithelial *** embryos(n=128)were subject to IOF of glutamine(IOF-Gln),leucine(IOF-Leu),NaCl(IOF-NaCl)or no injection(control)at embryonic d 17(E 17).Multipotent,progenitor and differentiated cells were located and quantified in the small intestinal epithelium between E 17 and d 7 after hatch(D 7)in all treatment groups by immunofluorescence of SRY-box transcription factor 9(Sox9)and proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA),in-situ hybridization of leucine-rich repeat containing G-protein coupled receptor 5(Lgr5)and peptide transporter 1(PepT1)and histochemical goblet cell *** effects of IOF treatments at E 19(48 h post-IOF),in comparison to control embryos,were as follows:total cell counts increased by 40%,33%and 19%,and multipotent cell counts increased by 52%,50%and 38%,in IOF-Gln,IOF-Leu and IOF-NaCl embryos,*** IOF-Gln embryos exhibited a significance,36%increase in progenitor cell *** IOF treatments shifted Lgr5+ stem cell localizations to villus *** differentiated,PepT1+region of the villi was 1.9 and 1.3-fold longer in IOF-Gln and IOF-Leu embryos,respectively,while goblet cell densities decreased by 20%in IOF-Gln ***,crypt and villi epithelial cell counts were significantly higher IOF-Gln chicks,compared to control chicks(Ptalization of multipotent and differentiated cell niches and expansions of the absorptive surface area.
