Measuring urban thermal environment from accessibility-based perspective:A case study in a populous city

Understanding the spatial interaction among residents,cooling service,and heat risk area in complex urban areas is conducive to developing targeted ***,traditional urban thermal environment assessments typically relied on simple linear integration of associated indicators,often neglecting the spatial interaction *** explore the spatial interaction among the three elements,this study proposes an accessibility-based urban thermal environment assessment *** Zhengzhou,a rapidly urbanizing city,as an example,remotely sensed images from three periods(2010,2015 and 2020)were applied to extract urban green space(UGS)and hot island area(HIA).An improved two-step floating catchment area(2SFCA)method and bivariate local Moran’s I were employed to explore whether residents’clustering locations are more likely to access cooling service or to be exposed to heat *** results demonstrate that the UGS in the city has been expanding,whereas the HIA shrank within the inner city in 2015 and then increased in *** though the urban thermal environment may have improved in the last decade,the spatial interaction among the residents,cooling service and heat risk area could be *** autocorrelation shows an increase in locations that are disadvantageous for resident *** when sufficient cooling services were provided,residents in these areas could still be exposed to high heat *** developed urban thermal environment framework provides a novel insight into the residents’heat risk exposure and cooling service accessibility,and the findings could assist urban planners in targeting the improvement of extra heat exposure risk locations.

Brazilin Actuates Ferroptosis in Breast Cancer Cells via p53/SLC7A11/GPX4 Signaling Pathway

Highly efficient photo-thermal synergistic catalysis of CO_(2)methanation over La_(1-x)Ce_(x)NiO_(3)perovskite-catalyst

Solar-driven photo-thermal catalytic CO_(2)methanation reaction is a promising technology to alleviate the problems posed by greenhouse gases ***,designing advanced photo-thermal catalysts remains a research challenge for CO_(2)methanation *** this work,a series of ABO3(A=lanthanide,B=transition metal)perovskite catalysts with Ce-substituted LaNiO3(La_(1-x)Ce_(x)NiO_(3),x=0,0.2,0.5,0.8,1)were synthesized for CO_(2)*** La_(0.2)Ce_(0.8)NiO_(3) exhibited the highest CH_(4) formation rate of 258.9 mmol·g^(-1)·hcat-1,CO_(2)conversion of 55.4%and 97.2%CH_(4) selectivity at 300℃with the light intensity of 2.9 W·cm^(-2).then the catalysts were thoroughly analyzed by physicochemical structure and optical properties *** partial substitution of the A-site provided more active sites for the adsorption and activation of CO_(2)/H_(2).the sources of the active sites were considered to be the oxygen vacancies(O_(v))created by lattice distortions due to different species of ions(La^(3+),Ce^(4+),Ce^(3+))and exsolved Ni0 by H_(2)*** catalysts have excellent light absorption absorbance and low electron-hole(e^(-)/h^(+))recombination rate,which greatly contribute to the excellent performance in photo-thermal synergistic catalysis(PtC)CO_(2)*** results of in situ irradiated electron paramagnetic resonance spectrometer(ISI-EPR)and ISI-X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)indicated that the aggregation of unpaired electrons near the defects and Ni metal(from La and Ce ions to Ov and Ni0)accelerated adsorption and activation of CO_(2)/H_(2).At last,the catalyst properties and structure were correlated with the proposed reaction mechanism from the in situ diffuse reflection infrared Fourier transform spectrum(DRIFtS)*** in situ precipitation of the B-site enhanced the dispersion of Ni,while its enriched photoelectrons upon illumination further promote hydrogen *** H^(*)spillover accelerated t

Electroacupuncture ameliorates blood-brain barrier disruption after ischemic stroke through histone acetylation regulation at the matrix metalloproteinase 9 and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 2 genes

OBJECtIVE:to explore whether the regulation of matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP-9)/tissue inhibitors of MMPs(tIMPs)gene expression through histone acetylation is a possible mechanism by which electroacupuncture(EA)protects blood-brain barrier(BBB)integrity in a middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)rat ***:Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups:the sham group,the MCAO group,the MCAO+EA(MEA)group,and the MCAO+EA+HAt inhibitor(HAti)*** MCAO model was generated by blocking the middle cerebral *** was applied to Baihui(GV20).Samples were collected 1 or 3 d after *** function scores and Evans blue extravasation were employed to evaluate the poststroke *** effect of EA on MMP-9/tIMPs gene expression was assessed by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(Rt-qPCR)and chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP).RESULtS:Our results showed that EA treatment prominently improved neurological function and ameliorated BBB *** Rt-qPCR assay showed that EA reduced the expression of MMP-9 and promoted tIMP-2 mRNA expression,but HAti reversed these effects of *** addition,ChIP results revealed that EA decreased the enrichment of H3K9ace/H3K27ace at MMP-9 promoters and notably stimulated the recruitment of H3K9ace/H3K27ace at tIMP-2 ***:EA treatment at Baihui(GV20)regulates the transcription of MMP-9 and tIMP-2 through histone acetylation modification in the acute stage of stroke,which preserves the structural integrity of the BBB in MCAO *** findings suggested that the histone acetylation-mediated transcriptional activity of target genes may be a crucial mechanism of EA treatment in stroke.

this letter discusses the publication by Feng et ***,selenium,and vitamin D are closely associated with thyroid hormone production in humans;however,the efficacy of selenium and vitamin D supplementation for type 2 diabetes mellitus(t2DM)patients with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis(Ht)remains *** the retrospective study we discuss herein,the authors highlighted significant improvements in thyroid function,thyroid antibodies,blood glucose,and blood lipid in t2DM patients with Ht following addition of vitamin D and selenium to their antidiabetic regimens,underscoring the value of these *** team is currently engaged in research exploring the relationship between micronutrients and Ht,and we have obtained invaluable insights from the aforementioned *** on this research and current literature,we recommend a regimen of 4000 IU/day of vitamin D and 100-200μg/day of selenium for over three months to six months for patients with Ht,particularly for those with concurrent t2DM.
