Symmetric Na-ion cells using the NASICON-structured electrodes could simplify the manufacturing process,reduce the cost,facilitate the recycling post-process,and thus attractive in the field of large-scale stationary energy ***,the long-term cycling performance of such batteries is usually *** investigation reveals the unavoidable side reactions between the NASICON-type Na_(3)v_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)(NvP)anode and the commercial liquid electrolyte,leading to serious capacity fading in the symmetric NvP//NvP *** resolve this issue,an all-solid-state composite electrolyte is used to replace the liquid electrolyte so that to overcome the side reaction and achieve high anode/electrolyte interfacial *** ferroelectric engineering could further improve the interfacial ion conduction,effectively reducing the electrode/electrolyte interfacial *** NvP//NvP cell using the ferroelectric-engineered composite electrolyte can achieve a capacity retention of 86.4%after 650 ***,the electrolyte can also be used to match the Prussianblue cathode NaxFeyFe(CN)_(6−z)·nH_(2)O(NFFCN).Outstanding long-term cycling stability has been obtained in the all-solid-state NvP//NFFCN cell over 9000 cycles at a current density of 500 mA g^(-1),with a fading rate as low as 0.005%per cycle.

Establishing the need to model the actual state of stress along rock bolts

Proper design of rock bolt support in underground mines is critical to avoid incidents, accidents and loss of production. The traditional design approach only considers the axial(tensile) capacity and this is clearly not the situation in situ, where a rock bolt is subjected to both axial and shear/bending loads which determines its overall performance and failure behaviour. To demonstrate and analyse the shear displacement in bedded roof, scaled physical models of underground excavation were created. From the models it was found that the shear displacement between the layers depends on the vertical roof deformation and thickness of beds. To analyse the effect of combined loading on rock bolt design for suspension and beam building models, analytical methods were used to calculate the required spacing of rock bolt for a given safety factor. Numerical models were then created using Rocscience RS2 software to establish the stresses on the rock bolt. The results show a significant reduction in safety factor for suspension as demonstrated in an example(reduced from 3.5 to 2.0) and beam building(2.0 to 1.36) when the rock bolt capacities are calculated considering the effect of combined loading as opposed to just the axial or shear loads.

Rock bolts are subjected to different loading conditions along their lengths such as axial,bending,and/or shear forces,which can cause failure at lower loads than those considered for design *** common existing methodologies do not consider the actual loading of the rock bolts and assume it is only pure axial or pure *** study was conducted to investigate the un-grouted rock bolt performance under combined load *** loading regimes were evaluated:the effect of initial shear displacement on axial load capacity and displacement,and the effect of axial displacement on the shear load *** first regime was also conducted for shear with a gap,when there is a spacing between the shear *** results of this study showed that the rock bolt can resist higher axial loads than shear under pure or combined load *** combined load conditions,the rock bolt capacity decreased significantly for both ***,when applying the shear load with a gap,the rock bolt load capacity was not affected ***,the total bar deformation was improved for shear and *** findings of this study show the need to improve the rock bolt design considering the complex loading conditions in situ with/without a gap.

Production and Testing of Biogas Using Cow Dung,Jatropha and Iron Filins

Biogas production was investigated in this study as an alternative to wood as fuel using slurries of cow dung(T1),jatropha fruit exocarp(T2),cattle dung and jatropha fruit exocarp(T3)and cow dung,jatropha fruit exocarp with 10 g of iron filings(T4).The 1000 mL of slurry which included 50 mL of inoculum that compensated for the dead or weak micro-organism was made for each *** the end of five weeks,the volume of biogas collected from the samples T1,T2,T3,and T4 when added up,gave 77,154,145 and 586 mL,*** sample mixture of cow dung,jatropha fruit exocarp,and iron filings(T4),gave the highest yield of biogas production with an average weekly production of 59 mL/kg for four weeks and on the fifth week about six times emission of biogas was *** production rate of the biogas was rapid after the gestation period and the T4 emerged as the most substantial emission of all the samples producing 350 mL/kg on the fifth week.

Production of autotetraploid plants by in vitro chromosome engineering in Allium hirtifolium

Persian shallot has been propagated vegetatively through daughter bulbs and has a narrow genetic *** the present study,to create genetic diversity in terms of ploidy level,the effects of in vitro polyploidization were investigated on morphological,physiological and phytochemical *** colchicine treatments(0,0.3%,0.5% and 0.7% concentrations)for 24,36 and 48 h and oryzalin treatments(0,0.001%,0.002% and 0.004% concentrations)for 4,6 and 8 h were used.A sterile basal plate of bulbs was used for the induction of polyploidy in liquid and solid *** obtaining plantlets,root tip chromosomes were counted for the determination of ploidy *** cytometry was performed to confirm the chromosome counting *** regenerated diploid and tetraploid plantlets were transferred to ex vitro *** and oryzalin were both successful in inducing polyploids and the polyploids induced were tetraploids and *** highest induction of polyploidy was obtained in solid media using 0.5%(w/v)colchicine for 36 h(35.0% polyploidy induction)and in 0.001%(w/v)Oryzalin for 8 h(45.5% polyploidy induction).Differences in plantlet height and weight,bulblet weight,density,stomatal width and length,and chlorophyll content were observed between tetraploid and diploid *** duplication,as a result of tetraploid induction,significantly influenced the antioxidant content and enzyme *** results showed that total phenolic content,allicin,and antioxidant capacity were significantly higher in the tetraploid plantlets than that in the diploid *** loci polymorphisms indicated that the 12 autotetraploid plants(with high allicin content)had different genotypes from the parental diploid ***,in vitro polyploidy induction not only duplicated chromosomes but also altered the DNA sequence in Allium *** vitro induction of tetraploids in *** can be a reliable way to obtain suitable plant material for bre

We report on an experiment performed at the FLASH2 free-electron laser(FEL)aimed at producing warm dense matter via soft x-ray isochoric *** the experiment,we focus on study of the ions emitted during the soft x-ray ablation process using time-of-flight electron multipliers and a shifted Maxwell–Boltzmann velocity distribution *** find that most emitted ions are thermal,but that some impurities chemisorbed on the target surface,such as protons,are accelerated by the electrostatic field created in the plasma by escaped *** morphology of the complex crater structure indicates the presence of several ion groups with varying *** find that the ion sound velocity is controlled by the ion temperature and show how the ion yield depends on the FEL radiation attenuation length in different materials.

Supersonically sprayed self-aligne d rGO nanosheets and ZnO/ZnMn_(2)O_(4)nanowires for high-energy and high-power-density supercapacitors

Core-shell-type bimetallic oxide and carbon composites comprising zinc oxide(ZnO)nanospheres and zinc manganese oxide(ZnMn_(2)O_(4))nanowires were produced by a hydrothermal method,and supersoni-cally sprayed together with reduced graphene oxide(rGO)nanosheets onto Ni foil to fabricate flexible *** supersonic impact facilitated the exfoliation of the rGO nanosheets,thereby increasing the surface area and adhesion of the composite particles to the *** rGO nanosheets were vertically aligned during the supersonic impact and formed localized zones,enabling optimal accommodation of the ZnO/ZnMn_(2)O_(4)*** localization,with the addition of rGO,reduced the agglomeration of ZnO/ZnMn_(2)O_(4)*** molar concentration of MnSO_(4)used in the synthesis of ZnO/ZnMn_(2)O_(4)was varied from 0.05 to 0.15 mol/L to determine the optimal MnSO_(4)concentration that would result in the highest energy storage *** unique nanostructure of ZnO/ZnMn_(2)O_(4)and the self-alignment of rGO sheets facilitated a favorable environment for high energy storage capability with a specific capaci-tance of 276.3 mF·cm^(−2)at a current density of 0.5 mA·cm^(−2)and an energy density of 98.2μWh·cm^(−2)at a power density of 1600μW·cm^(−2).The width of the potential window was increased to 1.2 v,imply-ing a significant increase in the energy storage capability of the *** retention of 88%was achieved after 10,000 charge/discharge cycles for the supercapacitor fabricated using an optimal MnSO_(4)concentration(0.10 mol/L)during the composite synthesis.

The influence of pore structure on P-& S-wave velocities in complex carbonate reservoirs with secondary storage space

Secondary storage spaces with very complex geometries are well developed in Ordovician carbonate reservoirs in the Tarim Basin,which is taken as a study case in this *** is still not clear how the secondary storage space shape influences the P-＆ S-wave velocities （or elastic properties） in complex carbonate *** this paper,three classical rock physics models （Wyllie timeaverage equation,Gassmann equation and the Kuster-Toks z model） are comparably analyzed for their construction principles and actual velocity prediction results,aiming at determining the most favourable rock physics model to consider the influence of secondary storage space *** relationships between the P-＆ S-wave velocities in carbonate reservoirs and geometric shapes of secondary storage spaces are discussed from different aspects based on actual well data by employing the favourable rock physics *** explain the influence of secondary storage space shape on v P-v S relationship,it is analyzed for the differences of S-wave velocities between derived from common empirical relationships （including Castagna＇s mud rock line and Greenberg-Castagna v P-v S relationship） and predicted by the rock physics *** advocate that v P-v S relationship for complex carbonate reservoirs should be built for different storage space *** the carbonate reservoirs in the Tarim Basin,the v P-v S relationships for fractured,fractured-cavernous,and fractured-hole-vuggy reservoirs are respectively built on the basis of velocity prediction and secondary storage space type *** the discussion above,it is expected that the velocity prediction and the v P-v S relationships for complex carbonate reservoirs should fully consider the influence of secondary storage space shape,thus providing more reasonable constraints for prestack inversion,further building a foundation for realizing carbonate reservoir prediction and fluid prediction.
