A real-time forecast of tunnel fire based on numerical database and artificial intelligence

The extreme temperature induced by fire and hot toxic smokes in tunnels threaten the trapped personnel and *** alleviate the potential casualties,fast while reasonable decisions should be made for rescuing,based on the timely prediction of fire development in *** paper targets to achieve a real-time prediction(within 1 s)of the spatial-temporal temperature distribution inside the numerical tunnel model by using artificial intelligence(Al)methods.A CFD database of 100 simulated tunnel fire scenarios under various fire location,fire size,and ventilation condition is *** proposed Al model combines a Long short-term Memory(LsTM)model and a Transpose Convolution Neural Network(TCNN).The real-time ceiling temperature profile and thousands of temperature-field images are used as the training input and *** show that the predicted temperature field 60 s in advance achieves a high accuracy of around 97%.Also,the Al model can quickly identify the critical temperature field for safe evacuation(i.e.,a critical event)and guide emergency responses and firefighting *** study demonstrates the promising prospects of Al-based fire forecasts and smart firefighting in tunnel spaces.

The eastern road section of the ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC)traverses the challenging terrain of northern Pakistan,where frequent landslides pose a significant threat to socioeconomic development and ***,the insufficient data on landslide hazards presents a substantial challenge to practical mitigation ***,we conducted an extensive study to gain insight into landslide assessment along the Mansehra-Muzaffarabad-Mirpur and Mangla(MMMM)*** study involved preparing a landslide inventory,analyzing landslide causative factors,and developing landslide susceptibility models(LsMs)using published data,remote sensing interpretations,field excursions and integrated predictive *** first used Pearson's correlation coefficient(PCC),variable importance factors(VIF),and information gain ratio(IGR)to evaluate multicollinearity among the selected landslide causative factors(LCFs).Then,the topographic roughness index(TRI)with VIF>5 and PCC>0.7 was considered a redundant factor and thus removed before the data ***,we adopted multiple machine-learning methods to analyze landslide *** results indicate that the landslide inventory contains 1,776 events,of which 674 were classified based on geometrical and lithological *** IGR results show that the rainfall,lithology,PGA,drainage density,slope,and distance to fault are the most effective *** AUC values for random forest(RF)(0.901),extreme gradient boosting(XGBoost)(0.884),and K-nearest neighbor(KNN)(0.872)remained higher than evidential belief function(EBF)(0.833),weight of evidence(WoE)(0.820),and certainty factor(CF)(0.810),*** RF model outperformed all other models in terms of ***,these models are accurate but newer in the area;thus,susceptible zones were verified with comprehensive field *** northern and central regions accounted for the high and very high susceptibility classes in th

This paper provides an overview of the degradation in CANDU^a （Canadian Deuterium Uranium） feeders in operating plants observed from the mid 1990s onward. The degradation has been dominated by feeder wall thinning, caused by FAC （flow accelerated corrosion） and feeder cracking. This paper summarizes the industry＇s response to the discovery of these two degradation mechanisms and the methodologies, tools and technologies developed to monitor the degradation and assess the continued fitness for service to manage the plant life. This paper identifies some of the lessons gained from more than a decade of industry effort, and discusses how these lessons are being implemented in the refurbished and new CANDU plants. CANDU^a is a registered trademark of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited.

Performance of Distributed Energy Aware Routing (DEAR) Protocol with Cooperative Caching for Wireless sensor Networks

Black chrome coatings were electrodeposited under galvanostatic conditions on ss *** enhance the thermal stability of the coatings for viable usage in parabolic trough receiver tubes in solar thermal applications beyond 250℃,graphite encapsulated FeCo nanoparticles had been introduced in the electrolyte solution at different weight percentages（0.025,0.05,0.1）.An increase in the thermal stability of the coatings in the range of 400℃ to 600℃ is noticed from the sTA *** corrosion analysis（Tafel） and cyclic voltammetric studies of the coatings in the presence and absence of nanoparticles have been carried out in 3.5%NaCl solution to understand the stability of the coating in saline environment.

Considering Wireless sensor Networks (WsNs) in today’s scenario, sending and receiving uninterrupted sensory data remains a challenge to achieve with minimal latency and energy consumption as low as possible. Energy consumption is exponentially growing in computing devices such as computers, embedded systems, portable devices, and wireless sensor networks. Extensive research has been in practice recently to minimize energy consumption without compromising the Quality of service (Qos) that is to provide data to the requester node with minimum Delay and high Reliability. In this paper, a cooperative caching algorithm is used with the proposed Distributed Energy Aware Routing (DEAR) protocol that attempts to minimize energy consumption by reducing the packet overhead in the network and also providing the data to the requester with minimum delay by retrieving requested datum from the nearby caching node available in the vicinity of the requester or sink node. The simulation results clearly show that the energy consumption is less when the grid-based analytical model is used against the star/cluster based model while keeping the same necessary attributes.

Exposure to toxic chemicals appears to be one of the major factors in the onset of schizophrenia. Present study was designed to find out the association of socio-economic, clinical and heavy metals such as chromium (Cr), lead (Pb) copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn) selenium (se) and arsenic (As) as the principle environmental factors that appear to impact schizophrenic condition in Pakistani population. In this study we have tried to expose some factors such as drug abuse, marital status, education, monthly income that could be related to the disease. These parameters were not investigated before in Pakistani subjects. A self-made questionnaire was developed to collect and record the history of patient’s social and economical status. The level of transition metals in the whole blood was also measured by using Inductive couple plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OEs). Present study has found higher levels of Cr, Pb, Zn, se, As and Cu and lower levels of Fe and Mn in the blood of newly diagnosed (ND) patients when compared to the controls. While comparing ND with the patients who were on medication (Old Diagnosed) we, found lower level of these metals except for copper in ND. However no significant differences were observed between any trace metal levels between the studied groups. The survey concludes that economic status, marital status and illegal drugs are significantly associated with schizophrenia. Pakistani men who use cannabis are significantly higher in numbers when compared to women in acquiring the psychiatric symptoms.
