We experimentally demonstrate a novel quasi-bound state in the continuum(BIC) resonance in the mid-infrared wavelength region with the resonant electric field confined as a slot mode within a low-refractive-index medium sandwiched between high-index *** structures studied here comprise coupled amorphous germanium guided-mode resonance(GMR) structures with a top one-dimensional grating layer and bottom uniform layer separated by a low-index silicon nitride *** slot-mode profile within the silicon nitride layer with mode field confinement >30% is achieved as a solution to the electromagnetic wave propagation through the coupled GMR structure with the dominant field component being perpendicular to the *** quasi-BIC resonance in symmetric 1D grating structures can be observed even at normal incidence when considering a realistic excitation beam with finite angular *** measured transmission peak is found to redshift(remain almost unchanged)under classical(full-conical) mounting *** highest quality factor of ~400 is experimentally extracted at normal incidence under a classical mounting condition with a resonance peak at 3.41 μm *** slot-mode GMR structures with appropriately chosen low-index intermediate layers can find applications in resonantly enhanced sensing and active photonic devices.

sodium alginate(sA)/chitosan(CH)polyelectrolyte scaffold is a suitable substrate for tissue-engineering *** present study deals with further improvement in the tensile strength and biological properties of this type of scaffold to make it a potential template for bone-tissue *** experimented with adding 0%–15%(volume fraction)gelatin(GE),a protein-based biopolymer known to promote cell adhesion,proliferation,and *** resulting tri-polymer complex was used as bioink to fabricate sA/CH/GEmatrices by three-dimensional(3D)*** studies using scanning electron microscopy revealed the microfibrous porous architecture of all the structures,which had a pore size range of 383–419μm.X-ray diffraction and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy analyses revealed the amorphous nature of the scaffold and the strong electrostatic interactions among the functional groups of the polymers,thereby forming polyelectrolyte complexes which were found to improve mechanical properties and structural *** scaffolds exhibited a desirable degradation rate,controlled swelling,and hydrophilic characteristics which are favorable for bone-tissue *** tensile strength improved from(386±15)to(693±15)kPa due to the increased stiffness of sA/CH scaffolds upon addition of *** enhanced protein adsorption and in vitro bioactivity(forming an apatite layer)confirmed the ability of the sA/CH/GE scaffold to offer higher cellular adhesion and a bone-like environment to cells during the process of tissue *** vitro biological evaluation including the MTT assay,confocal microscopy analysis,and alizarin red s assay showed a significant increase in cell attachment,cell viability,and cell proliferation,which further improved biomineralization over the scaffold *** addition,sA/CH containing 15%gelatin designated as sA/CH/GE15 showed superior performance to the other fabricated 3D structures,demonstrating its pote

Gamma-ray bursts(GRBs) are among the brightest objects in the Universe and, hence, can be observed up to a very high redshift. Properly calibrated empirical correlations between intensity and spectral correlations of GRBs can be used to estimate the cosmological parameters. However, the possibility of the evolution of GRBs with redshift is a long-standing puzzle. In this work, we used 162 long-duration GRBs to determine whether GRBs below and above a certain redshift have different properties. The GRBs are split into two groups, and we fit the Amati relation for each group separately. Our findings demonstrate that estimations of the Amati parameters for the two groups are substantially dissimilar. We perform simulations to investigate whether the selection effects could cause the difference. Our analysis shows that the differences may be either intrinsic or due to systematic errors in the data, and the selection effects are not their true origin. However, in-depth analysis with a new data set comprised of 119 long GRBs shows that intrinsic scatter may partly be responsible for such effects.

Introduction:The disruptions in the ectodermal layer during intrauterine growth in the process of the formation of epidermal ridges can be linked to the association between dermatoglyphics and abnormalities of the tooth and *** the genetic linkage of periodontal disease this study was hypothesized at observing the association of chronic periodontitis,aggressive periodontitis,and individuals with healthy periodontium as per the 1999 AAP classification of periodontitis with their fingerprint patterns and ridge *** and Methods:Patients belonging to an age cohort of 18-50 who visited the department of periodontics and implantology were included in the ***’periodontal status was determined and was enrolled in the study.A total of 114 subjects were compared,where 38 subjects belonged to the individual group of periodontal condition that are designated as Group A(healthy),Group B(chronic periodontitis),and Group C(aggressive periodontitis).A total of 1140 fingerprints were *** were analyzed and classified according to their patterns and also the ridges were ***:The comparison between three groups showed a statistically significant difference between increased percentage frequency of radial loops(28%)in chronic periodontitis and plain whorls(26.3%)in aggressive *** was a significant difference between ridge count among all the three groups,the highest being in healthy and the least between aggressive periodontal ***:Observations of the study show that there was a difference in fingerprint pattern between patients of all the three periodontal conditions indicating a link between epidermal ridges and condition of periodontium.

This article presents an in-depth exploration of the acoustofluidic capabilities of guided flexural waves(GFWs)generated by a membrane acoustic waveguide actuator(MAWA).By harnessing the potential of GFWs,cavity-agnostic advanced particle manipulation functions are achieved,unlocking new avenues for microfluidic systems and lab-on-a-chip *** localized acoustofluidic effects of GFWs arising from the evanescent nature of the acoustic fields they induce inside a liquid medium are numerically investigated to highlight their unique and promising *** traditional acoustofluidic technologies,the GFWs propagating on the MAWA’s membrane waveguide allow for cavity-agnostic particle manipulation,irrespective of the resonant properties of the fluidic ***,the acoustofluidic functions enabled by the device depend on the flexural mode populating the active region of the membrane *** demonstrations using two types of particles include in-sessile-droplet particle transport,mixing,and spatial separation based on particle diameter,along with streaming-induced counter-flow virtual channel generation in microfluidic PDMs *** experiments emphasize the versatility and potential applications of the MAWA as a microfluidic platform targeted at lab-on-a-chip development and showcase the MAWA’s compatibility with existing microfluidic systems.

The petrographic and geochemical attributes of the Oligocene Barail Group of rocks are used to decipher the likely source area(s)or tectonic domains,as this sequence of rocks was deposited in a foreland basin governed by orogenic domain,namely the North-east Arunachal *** river system that gave rise to the Brahmaputra River(Yarlung-Tsangpo),which flowed through several tectonic domains of the Himalayan ranges,primarily from BomiChayu,Gangadese Granitoid,Higher Himalayan Leucogranites,and Namche Barwa into the proto Bengal Basin now a part of Assam Arakan Basin and Naga schuppen Belt,was the main source of the sandstone formation of the Barail *** purpose of sandstone petrography,which combines modal analysis with XRF(Major Oxides)and HR-ICPMs(Trace&Rare Earth Elements)research,is to identify the type of source rock(s),their weathering pattern,and its paleo-environmental *** sandstones were formed from recycled orogen and include lithic and sublithic arenite variants with advanced texture and chemical *** sediments were felsic(Th/Co:1.38,Cr/Th:9.78,La/Lu:11.58,Th/sc:0.99,Eu/Eu*:0.66,La/sc:3.05,La/Co:4.18),with contributions from intermediate source rocks and low-rank metamorphics deposited in an active continental margin to a continental island arc *** conditions impacted the sediments of Barails,characterised by being warm and semi-humid to humid which resulted in moderate to a high degree of chemical weathering,as shown by weathering indices like CIA(79.14),PIA(85.47),CIW(86.9),WIP(32.50),ICV(0.71),and Th/U(6.03),which were further additionally supported by C-Value(1.01),PF(1.20),sr/Cu(2.04),and Rb/sr(0.97).
