In the ANSICHT project that was jointly ca.ried out by DBE TECHNOLOGY Gmb H,BGr,and GrS g Gmb H,two generic geological site models were used to develop a first draft of a methodology to demonstrate the safety of a high-level waste(HLW) repository in argillaceous formations in Germany,taking into account the regulatory *** main results of the project are characterised by the developed repository concepts adapted to the geological *** specific quantifications of the integrity criteria and their exemplary application with calculational proofs were used to demonstrate the integrity of the host *** development of site-specific FEP(features,events,and processes) cataloges provided a complete system description for evaluation of the repository *** developed work flow of the demonstration concept illustrated the complete sequence of the safety proof in a transparent *** shows that various steps have to be performed,possibly iteratively,to provide a successful safety *** results form a useful tool in the pending search for a HLW repository site,especially when providing a basis for comparing safety analyses of different sites in Germany.

This paper investigates the free vibration and transient response of interconnected structures including double curved beams and intermediate straight beams,which are all constructed from functionally graded porous(FGP) materials. The strain potential and kinetic energies of each beam along with the work done by the external force are calculated. Additionally, a higher-order beam element is introduced to derive stiffness and mass ma.rices, along with the force vector. The curved and straight beams are discretized, and their assembled stiffness, mass ma.rices, and force vectors, are *** conditions at the joints are used to derive the total ma.rices of the entire structure. Subsequently, the natural frequencies and transient response of the system are determined. The accuracy of the mathematical model and the self-developed computer program is validated through the comparison of the obtained results with those of the existing literature and commercial software ANSYS, demonstrating excellent ***, a comprehensive study is conducted to investigate the effects of various parameters on the free vibration and transient response of the considered structure.

Hexagonal and triangular Au microplates extending over an area of~12,000μm^(2) with thickness in the range 30-1000 nm have been synthesized using a single step thermolysis of(AuCl_(4))^(-)-tetraoctylammonium bromide complex in *** microplates are self-supporting and can be easily manipulated using a sharp pin,a property which enables them to serve as substrates for living *** microplate surface is non-toxic to living cells and can enhance the fluorescence signal from fluorophores residing within the cell by an order of *** addition,the microplates are smooth and single-crystalline,and ideal as microscopy substrates and molecular *** growth of the microplates in the initial stages is interesting in that they seem to grow perpendicular to the substrate,as evidenced by in situ microscopy.

Lead-free Ba(Fe_(1/2)Nb_(1/2))O_(3)/PVDF O_(3) composites were fa.ricated using *** technique.X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,dielectric,impedance,ac conductivity,magnetic force microscopy(MFM)and vibrating sample magne-tometer studies were undertaken to characterize the *** crstallite size of the Ba(Fe_(1/2)Nb_(1/2))O_(3) powder,estimated using Williamson-Hall approach,was found to be~42 *** fller particles of~0.5-1 pum were found to disperse in the polymer ma.rix of all the *** concentration dependent values of real and imaginary parts of complex permittivity showed increasing trend and were seen to follow Bruggeman and Furukawa *** data for ac conductivity exhibited negative temperature coeficient of resistance character of the test materials and were found to obey Jonscher's power *** correlated barier hopping model was found to explain satisfactorily the mechanism of charge transport occurring in the *** confirmed the presence of magnetic phases in the *** magnetization versus applied field curves indicated the possibility of magnetoelectric coupling in the ***,the present composites have shown themselves as potential multi-functional candidate materials for use in high density data storage applications.

AIM： To evaluate a low cost Indian recombinant hepatitis B vaccine GeneVac-B for its immunogenicity and safety in comparison to Engerix B and Shanvac B vaccine in high risk newborn infants born to （hepatitis B surface antigen） HBsAg positive mothers.METHODS： A total of 158 infants were enrolled in the study. Fifty eight infants were enrolled in the GeneVac-B group while 50 each were included for Engerix B and Shanvac B groups. A three-dose regimen of vaccination; at birth （within 24 h of birth）, 1st mo and 6 too. were adopted with 10 μg dosage administered uniformly in all the three groups. Clinical and immunological parameters were assessed for safety and immunogenicity of the vaccines, in all the enrolled infants.rESULTS： Successful follow up until seven months of age was achieved in 83% （48/58） for GeneVac-B, 76% （38/50） and 64% （32/50） for Engerix B and Shanvac B groups respectively. 100% seroconversion and seroprotection was achieved in all the three groups of infants. The geometric mean titers of anti-HBs one month after the completion of three dose of vaccination were 90.5, 80.9 and 72.5 mTU/mL in GeneVac-B, Engerix B and Shanvac B vaccine group respectively. Furthermore the level of anti-HBs increases with age of babies who were born to HBsAg positive mothers. The GMT values of anti-HBs were 226.7, 193.9 and 173.6 mIU/mL respectively in GeneVac-B, Engerix B and Shanvac B groups one year after the completion of the three doses of vaccine. No systemic reactions were reported in infants during the entire vaccination process of GeneVac-B and the other two vaccines. Clinical safety parameters remained within the normal limits throughout the study period.CONCLUSION： The study concludes that there is no significant difference between the three recombinant hepatitis B vaccines. Administration of these vaccines within 24 h of birth to babies, born to HBsAg positive mothers will reduce the incidence of HBV infection.

In investigation was conducted annually from 2002 to 2005 between the second week of May and the end of September on the incidence of scarab beetle, Schizonycha.ruficollis （Fa.ricius） in a teak （Tectona grandis L.f.） nursery at ramdongari, Nagpur, India. The immature stages, that is white grubs of the scarab beetle damaged 14%-52% of teak seedlings in the nursery beds, whereas the adult of the species, that is scarab beetles, were recorded on three new host trees （ Ziziphus xylopyra, Acacia catechu and A. leucophloea） in addition to the reported hosts such as ziziphus （Z. jujuba and Z. ma.ritiana）. Beetles of the S. ruficollis started emerging from the nursery beds just after the pre-monsoon showers and continued for 10-18 days. While beetle of S. ruficollis defoliated tree hosts available in the surroundings, the immature stages of the beetle caused major damage by feeding on root systerfls of teak seedlings with symptoms of wilting and mortality in forest nursery beds. The result of chemical and biological treatments for the management of grubs of S. ruficollis in nursery beds indicated phorate 10% granular at the rate of 20 g/m^2 and chlorpyriphos 20% emulsifiable concentrate at the rate of 5.0 mL/m^2 to be effective. Grubs of S. ruficollis have not been recorded previously as a major pest of teak （T. grandis）. This is also the first report on occurrence of S. ruficollis adults on tree hosts such as Z. xylopyra, A. catechu and A. leucophloea. White grubs being pests of economic importance and the toughest insects to manage, information given in this paper on incidence, pest status and management of Schizonycha.ruficollis is of importance to researchers and forest nursery managers.

Along with a wide range of applications,the surface-enhanced raman spectroscopy(SErS)is a promi-nent analytical technique to recognize and detect molecules and materials even at an extremely low mo-lar *** this work,a unique hybrid SErS platform is demonstrated by the incorporation of molybdenum disulfate(MoS_(2))nanoparticles(NPs)onto the core-shell AuPt hybrid NPs(HNPs)for the en-hanced molecular raman vibration of crystal violet(CV).The hybrid platform takes the advantage of both the electromagnetic mechanism(EM)offered by the AuPt HNPs and chemical mechanism(CM)owing to the MoS_(2)*** distinctive core-shell morphology of AuPt HNPs with the high-density background Au NPs is attained by a unique two-step solid-state dewetting method,which can offer a high concentration of electromagnetic hot *** the same time,the MoS_(2)NPs can provide an ample charge transfer with abundant active *** the hybrid SErS approach,a dramatic SErS enhancement of CV raman vibration is demonstrated,and the SErS capability is thoroughly *** addition,the finite-difference time-domain(FDTD)simulations provide a deeper understanding of the electromagnetic field distributions for various configurations of nanostructures and their hybrid combinations:i.e.,HNPs,alloy NPs,MoS_(2)/HNPs configurations.
