In the context of China Going Global,this paper seeks to evaluate the degree of implication that the European Union（EU）has in the Chinese-led One Belt One Road（OBOR）.In order to assess the success or failure of the Beijing’s project,the role of the EU in-and towards-it is *** the OBOR unfolds its full potential,it would represent a change of paradigm in the global governance *** Sino-EU political relations are of three kinds:The "fragmented" one,where the member states,as individual agents,and China have their own bilateral agreements.A second kind of relations where Brussels（EU as a political unity）and Beijing interact as great powers in a bilateral or multilateral *** the third and most recent kind of relation,the "16+1" *** multilateral format,established in 2012,coordinates sixteen Central and Eastern European countries（CEEC）with the Middle Kingdom in a given cooperation *** of the three kinds of Sino-EU relations the "16+1" format stands up as a singular case and this is so because it is the only one that,although being within the legal umbrella of the EU,brings together European states,substantial number of which belong to the Union,without the supervision of Brussels,in relation with a third *** this situation,and leaving aside the "fragmented" kind of relations,the paper’s hypothesis states that the Sino-Brussels（R1）and the Sino-CEEC（R2）relations are not consistent with a unified EU foreign scope of *** order to carry on with the comparison,the paper proceeds by analyzing the scope of Brussels’ Foreign Policy towards China and contrasting it with the agreements that have been reached within the "16+1"*** a result of the research,the thesis validates the hypothesis by asserting that there is a qualitative difference in the nature of the Rl and R2 *** reason for the inconsistency has been identified in the CEEC lack of commitment with the notion of Normative Power *** inconsistency

One of the biggest challenges in the biocompatibility of implantable metals is the prevention of the stress shielding effect,which is related to the coupling of the bone-metal mechanical *** stress shielding phenomenon provokes bone resorption and the consequent adverse effects on prosthesis ***,it can be inhibited by adapting the stiffness of the implant *** the use of titanium(Ti)porous structures is a great alternative not only to inhibit this effect but also to improve the osteointegration of orthopedic and dental implants,a brief description of the techniques used for their manufacturing and a review of the current commercialized implants produced from porous Ti assemblies are compiled in this *** powder metallurgy(PM)with space holder(SH)is a powerful technology used to produce porous Ti structures,it is here discussed its potential for the fabrication of medical devices from the perspectives of both design and *** most important parameters of the technique such as the size and shape of the initial metallic particles,the SH and binder type of materials,the compaction pressure of the green form,and in the sintering stage,the temperature,atmosphere,and time are reviewed according to the bibliography ***,the importance of the porosity and its types together with the influence of the mentioned parameters in the final porosity and,consequently,in the ultimate mechanical properties of the structure are ***,a few examples of the PM-SH application for the manufacturing of orthopedic implants are presented.

Located in the middle of the fever to solve the problem of CO_(2)emissions in the environment,CO_(2)sequestration by reaction with epoxides is one of the key tools,as it not only fixes CO_(2),but also makes it functional by leading to cyclic ***,the results are focused specifically on the formation of cyclic organic carbonates catalyzed by metal-salen complexes,previously achieved with yttrium and scandium,that are compared with those of analogous complexes containing metals from the first transition series,such as cobalt or *** functional theory(DFT)calculations allow to determine whether this switch of metals will be feasible and provide the basis for instigating future experimental efforts in this *** calculations analyzing the structure and electronics of the catalysts allow us to give not only a clear picture of whether these catalysts will be efficient,but also allow us to assess which metal center is the most convenient and/or whether the catalytic reaction will occur under mild *** buried volume calculations with the SambVca packages shed light on the different catalytic pockets of monometallic first row transition metals *** III salen *** predictive catalysis results show that the bite O-M-O angle plays an essential role in the catalysis.

Thin magnetic Fe layers in thickness of 10–240 nm were deposited onto a wheel surface of CoFeMoSiB amorphous ribbons to check our concept of a new type of heterogeneous magnetoimpedance materials formed by two different magnetic parts. The presence of an additional iron layer modifies the magnetoimpedance response of the composite material and leads to increase of the magnetoimpedance ratio from 330 to 345% at a frequency of 3.5 MHz. Two possible mechanisms are discussed for explanation to the observed behaviour. Modification of the surface properties of the amorphous ribbons may have certain potential for technological applications.

This paper compares the global flows of Chinese overseas investment in power plants with renewable energy investment potential embodied in ＂Nationally Determined Contributions.＂ With over US$1tn （671 GW） in Nationally Determined Contributions renewable energy investment potential in developing countries, we estimate the total level of power plant investments from China＇s policy banks and commercial entities since the early 2000s at US$216bn （158 GW）. Although past investment has mainly been directed at fossil fuels and hydroelectric power, we argue that China is uniquely poised to lead renewable energy global investments for three reasons：（i） China＇s solar and wind industries are globally competitive; （ii） Chinese policy banks can give domestic firms advantages in financing global expansion; and （iii） renewable energy investment opportunities still exist in developing countries with less sovereign risk than for traditional energy investments. The Chinese government should provide special incentives for the policy banks to capitalize on these investment opportunities by deploying Chinese solar and wind technologies to Belt and Road countries and beyond.

AIM To assess liver fibrosis(LF) in hepatitis C virus(HCV) and alcoholic liver disease(ALD), estimate health outcomes and costs of new noninvasive testing strategies METHODS A Markov model was developed to simulate LF progression in HCV and ALD for a cohort of 40-yearold men with abnormal levels of transaminases. Three different testing alternatives were studied: a single liver biopsy; annual Enhanced liver fibrosis(ELF?) followed by liver stiffness measurement(LSM) imaging as a confirmation test if the ELF test is positive; and annual ELF test without LSM. The analysis was performed from the perspective of a university hospital in *** data were obtained from published literature. Costs were sourced from administrative databases of the hospital. Deterministic and probabilistic sensitivity analyses were *** In HCV patients, annual sequential ELF test/LSM and annual ELF test alone prevented respectively 12.9 and 13.3 liver fibrosis-related deaths per 100 persons tested, compared to biopsy. The incremental costeffectiveness ratios(ICERs) were respectively €13400 and €11500 per quality-adjusted life year(QALY). In ALD, fibrosis-related deaths decreased by 11.7 and 22.1 per 100 persons tested respectively with sequential ELF test/LSM and annual ELF test alone. ICERs were €280 and €190 per QALY, *** The use of the ELF test with or without a confirmation LSM are cost-effective options compared to a single liver biopsy for testing liver fibrosis in HCV and ALD patients in Spain.
