Scaffolded DNA origami, a versatile method to construct high yield self- assembled DNA nanostructures, has been investigated to develop water-soluble nanoarrays for label free RNA detection, drug delivery, molecular positioning and recognition, and spatially ordered catalysis of single molecule chemical reactions. Its attributes that facilitate these applications suggest DNA origami as a candidate platform for intracellular targeting. After the interaction with targeted proteins in cell lysate, it is critical to separate and concentrate DNA origami nanoarrays from the crude cell lysate for further analysis. The recent development of microchip isotachophoresis （ITP） provides an alternative robust sample preconcentration and electrophoretic separation method. In this study, we present online ITP for stacking, separation and identification of aptamer-functionalized DNA origami and its thrombin complex in a simple cross-channel fused silica microfluidic chip. In particular, the method achieved separation of a binding complex in less than 5 min and 150-fold signal enhancement. We successfully separated and analyzed the thrombin bound origami-aptamer spiked into cell lysate using on-chip ITP. Our results demonstrate that origami/thrombin nanostructures can be effectively separated from cell lysate using this method and that the structural integrity of the concentrated binding complex is maintained as confirmed by atomic force microscopy （AFM）. An ITP-based separation module can be easily coupled to other microchip pre- and post-processing steps to provide an integrated proteomics analysis platform for diagnostic applications.

Background: Surgical haemorrhoidectomy is recognised as an effective but often painful intervention for haemorrhoids. Performed in a district hospital setting, this survey studied the success rates of stapled haemorrhoidopexy (SH) technique according to reported symptoms and patient satisfaction, post operatively. Methods: A cohort of 108 patients admitted for cir- cular stapled procedure at Inverclyde Royal Hospital between June 2006 and December 2011 gave their consent to be interviewed over the telephone after their procedure. 101 out of the 108 patients responded. Assessment of patient satisfaction was made on the basis of pre operative symptoms, postoperative results and complications. Results: Preoperatively, all patients had Grade lll or lV haemorrhoids complicated by haemorrhage. 33% of patients reported associated pain, and 25% complained of anal leakage. Mean follow up time was 23.8 months (7 - 38 months). Overall reported complication rate was 17%, with 9% reporting short term bleeding, 4% reporting shortlived post-operative pain and 3% with recurrence of prolapsed haemorrhoids. 88% of patients were happy with results, with 87% of patients happy to recommend the procedure to others. Conclusion: Stapled anopexy is a relatively new procedure. It has been found to be a successful and well-tolerated procedure for prolapsing haemorrhoids in this district general setting. It has a low recurrence rate, low incidence of post operative pain and a high level of patient satisfaction. However, there are associated complications and it has a steep training curve.

在开发新的油气藏中所遇到的深度水处理和严格的环保要求迫切需要开发出更轻、更紧凑、更有效的工艺设备。经过广泛的现场试验，从采出水中分离原油的液-液旋流工艺为这一需要带来了希望。该文概述了脱油水力旋流器的基本结构和操作原理，并讨论了系统设计、早期运行经验和四会一水力旋流器在Murchison平台大规模商业应用的实验结果。此外，该文还讨论了较大尺寸的60mm（2.4in）水力旋流器在Hutton张力腿平台（TLP）现场试领的早期结果。这方面技术在国外起步校早，并已获得了成熟的经验，而在国内才处于刚刚起步阶段。为1998年原中国石油天然气总公司招标项目。该技术的引进为我国开发新的油气藏中所遇到的深水处理具有一定的指导意义。

Oxygen consumption is a fundamental component of metabolic networks, mitochondrial function, and global carbon cycling. To date there is no method available that allows for replicate measurements on attached and unattached biological samples without compensation for extraneous oxygen leaking into the system. Here we present the Respiratory Detection System, which is compatible with virtually any biological sample. The RDS can be used to measure oxygen uptake in microliter-scale volumes with a reversibly sealed sample chamber, which contains a porphyrin-based oxygen sensor. With the RDS, one can maintain a diffusional seal for up to three hours, allowing for the direct measurement of respiratory function of samples with fast or slow metabolic rates. The ability to easily measure oxygen uptake in small volumes with small populations or dilute samples has implications in cell biology, environmental biology, and clinical diagnostics.
