Investigation of role of cartilage surface polymer brush border in lubrication of biological joints

Although experimental evidence has suggested that the polymer brush border(PBB)on the cartilage surface is important in regulating fluid permeability in the contact gap,the current theoretical understanding of joint lubrication is still *** address this research gap,a multiscale cartilage contact model that includes PBB,in particular its effect on the fluid permeability of the contact gap,is developed in this *** modeling is employed to estimate the permeability of the contact *** permeability is classified into two categories:For a gap size>1μm,the flow resistance is assumed to be dominated by the cartilage roughness;for gap sizem,flow resistance is assumed to be dominated by the surface polymers extending beyond the collagen network of the articular *** gap sizes of less than 1μm,the gap permeability decreases exponentially with increasing aggrecan concentration,whereas the aggrecan concentration varies inversely with the gap ***,the gap permeability is employed in a macroscale cartilage contact model,in which both the contact gap space and articular cartilage are modeled as two interacting poroelastic *** fluid exchange between these two media is achieved by imposing pressure and normal flux continuity boundary *** model results suggest that PBB can substantially enhance cartilage lubrication by increasing the gap fluid load support(e.g.,by 26 times after a 20-min indentation compared with the test model without a PBB).Additionally,the fluid flow resistance of PBB sustains the cartilage interstitial fluid pressure for a relatively long period,and hence reduces the vertical deformation of the ***,it can be inferred that a reduction in the PBB thickness impairs cartilage lubrication ability.

Facile formation of hierarchical magnesium silicate hydrate microspheres as an adsorbent for the textile dyes

Hierarchical porous magnesium silicate hydrate (mSH) microspheres composed of sheets are successfully developed under facile conditions using a hard template. The role of hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) on the formation and adsorption behavior was also observed for the methyl orange and methylene blue. The formed mSH possesses a surface area of 453.24 m^(2)/g, an average pore size of 6.38 nm, and a pore volume of 0.75 cm^(3)/g without CTAB. Based on the role of CTAB and the change in the ratio of mg/Si, the mSH retained its sphere-like structure with a variation in pore parameters. The formed mSH was used as an adsorbent to remove methylene blue and methyl orange. The pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir Isotherm models are well-fitted, with a 256.4 mg/g removal capacity and 84.2 mg/g for methylene blue and methyl orange, respectively. The modified mSH with CTAB played a positive role for the methyl orange and a negative role for the methylene blue regarding removal performance.

Nearly zero-dispersion,low confinement loss,and small effective mode area index-guiding PCF at 1.55 μm wavelength

In this paper, a new simple structure of indexguiding photonic crystal fiber（PCF） is designed and presented. In this PCF, dispersion, confinement loss, and effective mode area characteristics are investigated in the second communication window（1.55 μm）. Since 1.55 μm wavelength is widely used in optical communication systems, we try to optimize the PCF characteristics in this wavelength by designing an index-guiding PCF and three versions of optimized PCF. The results show that the dispersion is obtained very close to zero around 4.6×10–4ps/（nm·km）. Also, the confinement loss is 2.303×10–6dB/km and effective mode area is as small as 2.6 μm2.

Design of electronic sections for nano-displacement measuring system

Noncontact displacement measurement is generally based on the interferometry method. In the semiconductor industry, a technique for measuring small features is required as circuit integration becomes denser and the wafer size becomes larger. An interferometric system known as a three-longitudinal-mode heterodyne interferometer(TLmI) is made of two main parts: optical setup and electronic sections. In the optical part, the base and measurement signals having 500-mHz frequency are produced, resulting from interfering three longitudinal modes. The secondary beat frequency to measure the displacement in the TLmI is about 300 k Hz. To extract the secondary beat frequency, wide-band amplifiers, doublebalanced mixers(DBms), band-pass filters(BPFs), and low-pass filters(LPFs) are used. In this paper, we design the integrated circuit of a super-heterodyne interferometer with total gain of 56.9 dB in size of 1030 μm×1030 μm.

Evaluation of charge storage ability of chrome doped mn2O3 nanostructures derived by cathodic electrodeposition

A facile synthetic route has been proposed to prepare cauliflower-like nanostructures of Cr doped mn2O3. The synthesis was carried out by constant current cathodic electrodeposition from mn2+nitrate solutions containing minor amounts of dichromate. It was found that the presence of Cr mediates the formation of cathodic mnO2which then reacts with the excess mn2+species to form mn2O3nanostructures. X-Ray Diffraction（XRD）,Scanning Electron microscopy（SEm） and Differential Thermal Analysis（DTA） were used to characterize the nanostructures. The storage ability of the obtained nanostructures was investigated by cyclic voltammetry（CV）in 0.5 m Na2SO4solution. The results indicated that the Cr doped manganese oxide material shows better performance than the non-doped one, and the charge capacity（SC） of doped manganese oxide（218 F/g） was higher than pure manganese oxide（208 F/g）.

Bimetallic reduced graphene oxide/zeolitic imidazolate framework hybrid aerogels for efficient heavy metals removal

Graphene oxide is a promising adsorption ***,it has been difficult to recycle and separate graphene oxide in the *** alleviate this problem,graphene oxide was thermally reduced to produce porous hydrogel which was then functionalized with *** functional groups act as not only adsorption sites but also nucleation sites for in situ crystallization of cobalt-doped zeolitic-imidazolate-framework-8 *** effects of cobalt-doping contents on the physicochemical and adsorption properties of the resulting aerogel were also evaluated by varying the cobalt *** instance,the reduced graphene oxide-polydopamine/50cobalt-zeolitic-imidazolate-framework-8 aerogel exhibited a high surface area of 900 m^(2)·g^(-1)and maintained the structure in water after ten *** as-synthesized aerogels showed an ultrahigh adsorption capacity of 1217±24.35 mg·g^(-1)with a removal efficiency of>99%of lead,as well as excellent adsorption performance toward other heavy metals,such as copper and cadmium with adsorption capacity of 1163±34.91 and 1059±31.77 mg·g^(-1),*** importantly,the lead adsorption stabilized at 1023±20.5 mg·g^(-1)with a removal efficiency of>80%after seven cycles,indicating their potential in heavy metal removal from industrial wastewater.

This article improves and advances the results achieved by Vishal and Naveen, leveraging the use of Lebesgue integrable functions. Going beyond, we investigate fixed point theorems associated with a concept introduced by Ovidiu Popescu. Our research not only bolsters the theoretical framework but also unveils practical applications in the domain of Lebesgue integrals as in Example 3.6. Furthermore, our contribution enhances the understanding of fixed point theorems in metric spaces and introduces novel perspectives in the study of generalized α-Geraghty contractive mappings on Lebesgue integrals.
