The primary objective of this paper is to demonstrate improved energy efficiency for domestic hot water(DHW)production in residential *** is done by deriving data-driven optimal heating schedules(used interchangeably with policies)*** optimization leverages actively learnt occupant behaviour and models for thermodynamics of the storage vessel to operate the heating mechanism-an air-source heat pump(ASHP)in this case-at the highest possible *** proposed algorithm,while tested on an ASHP,is essentially decoupled from the heating mechanism making it sufficiently robust to generalize to other types of heating mechanisms as *** results for this optimization based on data from 46 Net-Zero Energy Buildings(NZEB)in the Netherlands are *** show a reduction of energy consumption for DHW by 20%using a computationally inexpensive heuristic approach,and 27%when using a more intensive hybrid ant colony optimization based *** energy savings are strongly dependent on occupant comfort *** is demonstrated in real-world settings for a low-consumption house where active control was performed using heuristics for 3.5months and resulted in energy savings of 27%(61 kW h).It is straightforward to extend the same models to perform automatic demand side management(ADSM)by treating the DHW vessel as a flexibility bearing device.

We present three patients with signs and symptoms of meralgia paresthetica (MP ) after long-distance walking and cycling. No other possible causes of MP, such as trauma or exogenous compression, were present. A neuropathy of the lateral f emoral cutaneous nerve was confirmed in all patients with somatosensory evoked p otentials. We propose that conduction block due to local ischemia during repetit ive muscle stretching was the probable cause for the neuropathy.

目的探討在急診科對患有陣發性室上性心動過速(Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia,PSVT)的病人,應用經周圍靜脈注射三磷酸腺苷(Adenosine triphosphate,ATP)治療的療效及安全性.方法對象爲2002年6月~10月,於急診科經標準12導聯平面心電圖(ECG)檢查,診斷爲窄QRS的PSVT病人15例(除1例合倂冠心病,1例合倂風濕性心臟病,有心房顫動病史外,其餘均無器質性心臟病;2例合倂低血壓(84~85/54~56 mmHg).男性5例,女性10例,年齡12-72歲,經上肢周圍靜脈快速(<3秒)注射ATP 10 mg進行治療。治療期間進行持續的血壓及ECG監測,記錄觀察到的和病人主訴的副反應及新出現的心律失常的類型和持續時間;PSVT終止前後病人的血壓,心率。結果單一劑量ATP 10 mg經上肢周圍靜脈快速(<3秒)注射,終止PSVT的有效率爲93.3%(14/15);1例PSVT終止後約10秒再復發,經給予維拉帕咪(Verapamil)5mg靜脈注射後轉復爲竇性心律。副反應的發生率較高,達73.3%(9/15)。主要爲:面紅,頭暈,肢體淋痹感,胸部壓迫感,呼吸困難等。PSVT終止後心律失常的發生率亦較高,達86.7%(13/15)。主要爲:房性早搏,室性早搏,房室傅導阻滯,心動過緩,竇性停搏及心房顫動/扑動,平均持績時間20s。結論急診科應用單一劑量ATP 10 mg經上肢周圍靜脈快速注射終止PSVT非常有效且安全,引起的心律失常及副反應輕微且均爲一過性,持績時間少於lmin。病人耐受良好且不需要治療。
