Regression analysis of squeezing-induced hybrid nanofluid flow in Darcy-Forchheimer porous medium

This article presents a mathematical model addressing a scenario involving a hybrid nanofluid flow between two infinite parallel plates. One plate remains stationary, while the other moves downward at a squeezing velocity. The space between these plates contains a Darcy-Forchheimer porous medium. A mixture of water-based fluid with gold(Au) and silicon dioxide(Si O2) nanoparticles is formulated. In contrast to the conventional Fourier's heat flux equation, this study employs the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux equation. A uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the flow direction, invoking magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) effects. Further, the model accounts for Joule heating, which is the heat generated when an electric current passes through the fluid. The problem is solved via NDSolve in MATHEMATICA. Numerical and statistical analyses are conducted to provide insights into the behavior of the nanomaterials between the parallel plates with respect to the flow, energy transport, and skin *** findings of this study have potential applications in enhancing cooling systems and optimizing thermal management strategies. It is observed that the squeezing motion generates additional pressure gradients within the fluid, which enhances the flow rate but reduces the frictional drag. Consequently, the fluid is pushed more vigorously between the plates, increasing the flow velocity. As the fluid experiences higher flow rates due to the increased squeezing effect, it spends less time in the region between the plates. The thermal relaxation, however, abruptly changes the temperature, leading to a decrease in the temperature fluctuations.

Approximate Dynamic Inversion (ADI) is basically an approximation of exact dynamic inversionor feedback linearisation, which converts a nonlinear system to an equivalent linear *** method can be widely applied for controlling minimum phase, nonaffine-in-control *** applying the ADI method, a fast dynamic subsystem for deriving explicit inversion of thenonaffine equation is required. With full state feedback, ADI may be expressed in the same way asa Proportional Integral (PI) controller with only knowledge of the sign of control effectiveness andalso without any approximation. The Model Reference Adaptive Controller (MRAC) augmentedwith the PI method is an adaptive control technique where the PI parameters are updated/tunedas per the control methodology based on the MRAC-Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)rule so that the plant is capable to follow the reference model. The main objective of this paperis to find the relationship between ADI and MRAC augmented with a PI controller.

Bayesian optimization(BO)is an indispensable tool to optimize objective functions that either do not have known functional forms or are expensive to ***,optimal experimental design is always conducted within the workflow of BO leading to more efficient exploration of the design space compared to traditional *** can have a significant impact on modern scientific discovery,in particular autonomous materials discovery,which can be viewed as an optimization problem aimed at looking for the maximum(or minimum)point for the desired materials *** performance of BO-based experimental design depends not only on the adopted acquisition function but also on the surrogate models that help to approximate underlying objective *** this paper,we propose a fully autonomous experimental design framework that uses more adaptive and flexible Bayesian surrogate models in a BO procedure,namely Bayesian multivariate adaptive regression splines and Bayesian additive regression *** can overcome the weaknesses of widely used Gaussian process-based methods when faced with relatively high-dimensional design space or non-smooth patterns of objective *** simulation studies and real-world materials science case studies demonstrate their enhanced search efficiency and robustness.

Quality Assessment and Forecast Sensitivity of Global Remote Sensing Observations

The satellite-derived wind from cloud and moisture features of geostationary satellites is an important data source for numerical weather prediction （NWP） models. These datasets and global positioning system radio occultation （GPSRO） satellite radiances are assimilated in the four-dimensional variational atmospheric data assimilation system of the UkMO Unified Model in India. This study focuses on the importance of these data in the NWP system and their impact on short-term 24-h forecasts. The quality of the wind observations is compared to the short-range forecast from the model background. The observation increments （observation minus background） are computed as the satellite-derived wind minus the model forecast with a 6-h lead time. The results show the model background has a large easterly wind component compared to satellite observations. The importance of each observation in the analysis is studied using an adjoint-based forecast sensitivity to observation method. The results show that at least around 50% of all types of satellite observations are beneficial. In terms of individual contribution, METEOSAT-7 shows a higher percentage of impact （nearly 50%）, as compared to GEOS, MTSAT-2 and METEOSAT-10, all of which have a less than 25% impact. In addition, the impact of GPSRO, infrared atmospheric sounding interferometer （IASI） and atmospheric infrared sounder （AIRS） data is calculated. The GPSRO observations have beneficial impacts up to 50 km. Over the Southern Hemisphere, the high spectral radiances from IASI and AIRS show a greater impact than over the Northern Hemisphere. The results in this study can be used for further improvements in the use of new and existing satellite observations.

AES Encrypted FSk Generation at X-Band Frequency using a Single Reflex klystron

This paper describes a high security data transmission system over X-band microwave frequency. The paper has two parts. The first part deals with encryption of binary data by Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) using VHDL modeling of Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The second part deals with a novel idea of transmitting the encrypted data by using a single klystron. This requires the simultaneous generation of a pair of two independent RF frequencies from a reflex klystron working for X-band frequency range. In this scheme, the klystron is suitably biased on the repeller terminal and superimposed on a train of AES encrypted binary data so as to create two RF frequencies one corresponding to negative peaks and the other one to the positive peaks of the data resulting in an Frequency Shift keying (FSk) signal. The results have been verified experimentally.

NECAB family of neuronal calcium-binding proteins in health and disease

The N-terminal EF-hand calcium-binding proteins 1–3(NECAB1–3) constitute a family of predominantly neuronal proteins characterized by the presence of at least one EF-hand calcium-binding domain and a functionally less well characterized C-terminal antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domain. All three family members were initially discovered due to their interactions with other proteins. NECAB1 associates with synaptotagmin-1, a critical neuronal protein involved in membrane trafficking and synaptic vesicle exocytosis. NECAB2 interacts with predominantly striatal G-protein-coupled receptors, while NECAB3 partners with amyloid-β A4 precursor protein-binding family A members 2 and 3, key regulators of amyloid-β production. This demonstrates the capacity of the family for interactions with various classes of proteins. NECAB proteins exhibit distinct subcellular localizations: NECAB1 is found in the nucleus and cytosol, NECAB2 resides in endosomes and the plasma membrane, and NECAB3 is present in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus. The antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domain, an evolutionarily ancient component, is akin to atypical heme oxygenases in prokaryotes but is not wellcharacterized in vertebrates. Prokaryotic antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domains typically form dimers, suggesting that calcium-mediated conformational changes in NECAB proteins may induce antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domain dimerization, potentially activating some enzymatic properties. However, the substrate for this enzymatic activity remains uncertain. Alternatively, calcium-mediated conformational changes might influence protein interactions or the subcellular localization of NECAB proteins by controlling the availability of protein–protein interaction domains situated between the EF hands and the antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domain. An investigation into flow mode transition and pressure fluctuations for fluidized dense-phase pneumatic conveying of fine powders

This paper presents the results of an ongoing investigation into the fluctuations of pressure signals due to solids-gas flows for dense-phase pneumatic conveying of fine powders. Pressure signals were obtained from pressure transducers installed along different locations of a pipeline for the fluidized dense-phase pneumatic conveying of fly ash （median particle diameter 30μm; particle density 2300 kg/m^3; loose- poured bulk density 700 kg/m^3） and white powder （median particle diameter 55 p.m; particle density 1600 kg/m^3 ; loose-poured bulk density 620 kg/m^3） from dilute to fluidized dense-phase. Standard deviation and Shannon entropy were employed to investigate the pressure signal fluctuations. It was found that there is an increase in the values of Shannon entropy and standard deviation for both of the prod- ucts along the flow direction through the straight pipe sections. However, both the Shannon entropy and standard deviation values tend to decrease after the flow through bend（s）, This result could be attributed to the deceleration of particles while flowing through the bends, resulting in dampened particle fluctua- tion and turbulence. Lower values of Shannon entropy in the early parts of the pipeline could be due to the non-suspension nature of flow （dense-phase）, i.e., there is a higher probability that the particles are concentrated toward the bottom of pipe, compared with dilute-phase or suspension flow （high velocity）, where the particles could be expected to be distributed homogenously throughout the pipe bore （as the flow is in suspension）. Changes in straight-pipe pneumatic conveying characteristics along the flow direction also indicate a change in the flow regime along the flow.

Experimental investigation into transient pressure pulses during pneumatic conveying of fine powders using Shannon entropy

This paper presents the results of an ongoing investigation into transient pressure pulses using Shan- non entropy. Pressure fluctuations （produced by gas-solid two-phase flow during fluidized dense-phase conveying） are recorded by pressure transducers installed at strategic locations along a pipeline. This work validates previous work on identifying the flow mode from pressure signals （Mittal, mallick, ＆ Wypych, 2014）. Two different powders, namely fly ash （median particle diameter 45 μm, particle den- sity 1950 kg/m3. loosely poured bulk density 950 kg/m3） and cement （median particle diameter 15 p,m, particle density 3060 kg/m3, loosely poured bulk density 1070 kg/m3）, are conveyed through different pipelines （51 mm I.D. × 70 m length and 63 mm I.D. × 24 m length）. The transient nature of pressure fluc- tuations （instead of steady-state behavior） is considered in investigating flow characteristics. Shannon entropy is found to increase along straight pipe sections for both solids and both pipelines. However, Shannon entropy decreases after a bend. A comparison of Shannon entropy among different ranges of superficial air velocity reveals that high Shannon entropy corresponds to very low velocities （i.e. 3-5 m/s） and very high velocities （i.e. 11-14 m/s） while low Shannon entropy corresponds to mid-range velocities （i.e. 6-8 m/s）.

Ultralight three-dimensional,carbon-based nanocomposites for thermal energy storage

Polymer based nanocomposites consisting of elastic three-dimensional(3 D)carbon foam(CF),paraffin wax and graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs)have been created and evaluated for thermal energy *** ultralight,highly porous(~98.6%porosity),and flexible CFs with densities of2.84-5.26 mg/cm^3 have been used as the backbone skeleton to accommodate phase change wax and nanoscale thermal conductive enhancer,*** level of defects and the ordered sp2 configuration allow the resulting CFs to exhibit excellent cyclic compressive behavior at strains up to 95%,while retaining part of their elastic properties even after 100 cycles of *** dispersing the highly conductive GNP nanofillers in paraffin wax and infiltrating them into the flexible CFs,the resultant nanocomposites were observed to possess enhanced overall thermal conductivity up to 0.76 W/(m k),representing an impressive improvement of226%,which is highly desirable for thermal engineering.
