The rapid degradation of Mg alloy was reduced by incorporating titanate on a fluorine-based anodized *** coating shows(i)excellent biomineralization ability,(ii)improved local and periodical corrosion behavior and(iii)enhanced expression of osteogenic factors(Runx2,Col 1,OCN and OPN)along with(iv)the antibacterial *** fluoride and magnesium ions dissolution from the anodized layer is responsible for the better expression of osteogenic factors and antibacterial *** preparation of the titanate incorporated anodized Mg alloy(Ti-AMg)is a facile solution to overcome the implant-associated bacterial infections with required biological functions including progression of bone ingrowth and biocompatibility.

Barefoot slips contribute to over 37% of recurrent fall-related injuries across all age *** study slip risk across a wide range of flooring conditions,slip meters with barefoot surrogates(i.e.,sensors,as per ASTM standard nomenclature)such as animal skins and rubbers have been used to date,which exhibit biomechanical and frictional properties widely different from the barefoot human *** of a surrogate which can accurately simulate the human heel skin properties would be immensely beneficial for realistic assessment of barefoot slipping risk.A novel surrogate was developed using 3D scanning and printing,and biomimetics,which precisely simulates the biomechanical and frictional properties of the barefoot human heel *** slip testing was conducted with this surrogate on three common bathroom floorings and with six different *** of Friction(COF)results similar to human slipping experiments,high repeatability and reproducibility across wet and oily flooring conditions,were confirmed through experiments with the developed heel skin *** heel skin surrogate would be an indispensable model for accurate estimation of barefoot risk against slips and falls in bathrooms,bathtubs,and swimming pools.

A Novel Approach for Mitigating Power Quality Issues in a PV Integrated Microgrid System Using an Improved Jelly Fish Algorithm

A two-step methodology was used to address and improve the power quality concerns for the PV-integrated microgrid system. First, partial shading was included to deal with the real-time issues. The Improved Jelly Fish Algorithm integrated Perturb and Obserb (IJFA-PO) has been proposed to tra.k.the Global Maximum Power Point (GMPP). Second, the main unit-powered via DC–AC converter is synchronised with the grid. To cope with the wide voltage variation and harmonic mitigation, an auxiliary unit undergoes a novel series compensation technique. Out of various switching approaches, IJFA-based Selective Harmonic Elimination (SHE) in 120° conduction gives the optimal solution. Three switching angles were obtained using IJFA, whose performance was equivalent to that of nine switching angles. Thus, the system is efficient with minimised higher-order harmonics and lower switching losses. The proposed system outperformed in terms of efficiency, metaheuristics, and convergence. The Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) obtained was 1.32%, which is within the IEEE 1547 and IEC tolerable limits. The model was developed in MATLAB/Simulink 2016b and verified with an experimental prototype of grid-synchronised PV capacity of 260 W tested under various loading conditions. The present model is reliable and features a simple controller that provides more convenient and adequate performance.

This paper considers a linear regression model involving both quantitative and qualitative factors and an m-dimensional response variable y. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate D-optimal designs when the levels of the qualitative factors interact with the levels of the quantitative factors. Under a general covariance structure of the response vector y, here we establish that the determinant of the information matrix of a product design can be separated into two parts corresponding to the two marginal designs. Moreover, it is also proved that D-optimal designs do not depend on the covariance structure if we assume hierarchically ordered system of regression models.

Ba.k.round The serotonin transporter(SERT),encoded by the solute carrier family 6 number 4(SLC6A4)gene,controls serotonin(5-HT)availability and is essential for the regulation of behavioral *** SLC6A4 genetic variants,5-HTTLPR and STin2,were widely investigated in patients with various neurobehavioral disorders,including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD).Methods We analyzed the association of the 5-HTTLPR(L/S)and STin2(10/12)variants,plasma 5-HT,and 5-hydroxyindole acetic acid(5-HIAA),as well as SERT messenger RNA(mRNA)with ADHD in the eastern Indian *** families with ADHD probands(n=274)and ethnically matched controls(n=367)were recruited following the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental *** traits,executive function,and intelligence quotient(IQ)of the probands were assessed using the Conner's Parent Rating Scale–Revised,Parental Account of Children’s Symptoms(PACS),Ba.k.ey Deficit in Executive Functioning—Child and Adolescent Scale,and Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-III,*** obtaining informed written consent,peripheral blood was collected to analyze genetic variants,plasma 5-HT,5-HIAA,and SERT mRNA *** ADHD probands showed a higher frequency of the 5-HTTLPR“L”allele and“L/L”genotype(P<0.05),lower 5-HIAA level,and higher SERT mRNA *** for behavioral problems and hyperactivity were higher in the presence of the“S”allele and“S/S”genotype,while executive deficit was higher in the presence of the“L”*** score was lower in the presence of the STin2“12”allele and L-12 *** Data obtained indicate a significant association of the serotoninergic system with ADHD,warranting further in-depth investigation.

Electron-electron correlations play central role in condensed matter physics,governing phenomena from superconductivity to magnetism and numerous technological ***-dimensional(2D)materials with flat electronic bands provide natural playground to explore interaction-driven physics,tha.k. to their highly localized *** search for 2D flat band materials has attracted intensive efforts,especially now with open science databases encompassing thousands of materials with computed electronic *** we automate the otherwise daunting ta.k.of materials search and classification by combining supervised and unsupervised machine learning *** this end,convolutional neural network was employed to identify 2D flat band materials,which were then subjected to symmetry-based analysis using a bilayer unsupervised learning *** hybrid approach of exploring materials databases allowed us to construct a genome of 2D materials hosting flat bands and to reveal material classes outside the known flat band paradigms.
