With the invention of Internet-enabled devices,cloud and blockchain-based technologies,an online voting system can smoothly carry out election *** pandemic situations,citizens tend to develop panic about mass gatherings,which may influence the decrease in the number of *** urges a reliable,flexible,transparent,secure,and cost-effective voting *** proposed online voting system using cloud-based hybrid blockchain technology eradicates the flaws that persist in the existing voting system,and it is carried out in three phases:the registration phase,vote casting phase and vote counting phase.A timestamp-based authentication protocol with digital signature validates voters and candidates during the registration and vote casting *** smart contracts,third-party interventions are eliminated,and the transactions are secured in the blockchain ***,to provide accurate voting results,the practical Byzantine fault tolerance(PBFT)consensus mechanism is adopted to ensure that the vote has not been modified or ***,the overall performance of the proposed system is significantly better than that of the existing *** performance was analyzed based on authentication delay,vote alteration,response time,and latency.

Among many condition-monitoring systems in welding operation,Defect identification is an important method to ensure the precision in finishing *** stir welding is a solid state welding process used to join two metals without the use of electrode at lower *** aim of this present work is to identify and localize the tunnel defect in aluminum alloy and measure the distance of the defect zone in the time domain of the vibration signal during Friction stir *** vibration signals are captured from the experiments and the burst in the vibration signal is focused in the analysis.A signal-processing scheme is proposed to filter the noise and to measure the dimensional parameters of the defect *** proposed technique consists of discrete wavelet transform(DWT),which is used to decompose the *** enveloping technique is applied on the decomposed zero padded *** continuous wavelet transform(CWT) has been implemented on detailed signal followed by a time marginal integration(TMI) of the CWT *** mode decomposition(EMD) is used to replace the detailing coefficients from DWT with Intrinsic Mode Function(IMF).Statistical parameters such as mean,kurtosis,S.D and crest factor have been extracted from the final filtered signal for validating the defect welds from the control defect free *** produced were found to be that kurtosis is 7.4402 for tunnel defect induced weld and 3.3862 for defect free *** the increase in kurtosis value predicts the defect zone impact in the *** measurement of the defect zone of the cut 1(voids) and cut 2(tunnel grooves) in correlation with the processed signal is found to produce a much redundant results with an error rate of 0.02.

In HIV/AIDS patients, antiretroviral therapy (ART) is used for reducing the viral load and helps in increasing the life span of the individual. However, severe side effects are associated with the use of antiretroviral drugs. Hence, a treatment schedule, using minimal amount of drugs, is required for maintaining a low viral load and a healthy immune system. The objective of this work is to compute the optimal dosage of antiretroviral drugs for therapy planning in HIV/AIDS patients, using intelligent optimization techniques. In this work, two computational swarm intelligence techniques known as the particle swarm optimization (PSO) and bacterial foraging optimization (BFO) in conjunction with the three-dimensional mathematical model of HIV/AIDS have been used for estimating the optimal drug dosage for administering therapy by minimization of viral load as well as the total drug concentration. Results demonstrate that, using the proposed method, it is possible to achieve minimal viral load and an improved immune system, with the estimated drug dosage. Further, it was observed that the efficiency of BFO (CD4 cells = 7 5 7 cells/mm 3 at seventh year of infection) for estimation of optimal drug dosage is higher than the PSO method (CD4 cells = 8 1 7 cells/mm 3 at seventh year of infection). This work seems to be of high clinical relevance since, at present, ART is the widely used procedure for treatment of HIV infected patients.

Experimental Studies on the Thermal Performance of a Parabolic Dish Solar Receiver with the Heat Transfer Fluids SiC+ Water Nano Fluid and Water

An experimental investigation has been carried out with aa point focusing dish reflector of 12 square meters aperture area, exposed to the average direct normal irradiations of 810 W/m^2. This work focuses on enhancinge the energy and exergy efficiencies of the cavity receiver by minimizing the temperature difference between the wall and heat transfer fluids. Two heat transfer fluids Water and SiC + water nano fluid have been prepared from 50 nm particle size and 1% of volume fraction, and experimented separately for the flow rates of 0.2 lpm to 0.6 lpm with an interval of 0.1 lpm. The enhanced thermal conductivity of nano fluid is 0.800115 W/mK with the k_(eff)/k_b ratio of 1.1759 determined by using the Koo and Kleinstreuer correlation. The maximum attained energy and exergy efficiencies are 29.14% and 24.82% for water, and 32.91% and 39.83% for SiC+water nano fluid. The nano fluid exhibits enhanced energy and exergy efficiency of 12.94% and 60.48% than that of water at the flow rate of 0.5 lpm. The result shows that the system with SiC+Water produces higher exergy efficiency as compared to energy efficiency; in the case of water alone, the energy efficiency is higher than exergy efficiency.

An architectural design process is investigated to achieve form flexibility in industrialized building systems （IBS）, as IBS constructions do not have sufficient flexibility to develop varied architectural forms. The ethnography method has been used to examine the issues related to ＂form＂ flexibility in the design life cycle of IBS constructions by observing the constructions of live experimental models. The major tasks and respective design aspects that facilitate form flexibitities in architectural design have been identified. Furthermore, an integrated life cycle mode[ has been developed to effectively address the interfaces between the design tasks and eventually fulfill the needs of IBS in the design life cycle.

BACKGROUND Nonagenarians(NG),individuals aged≥90 years,constitute an increasing proportion of hospitalizations presenting with atrial fibrillation(AF).However,not much is known about demographics,clinical outcomes,and trends of ***,we analyzed data about hospitalizations and clinical outcomes among NGs with AF over ten years from 2005 to 2014 using a publically available database,the National Inpatient *** All hospitalizations and major outcomes of subjects≥90 years with a primary diagnosis of AF(ICD-9-CM code 427.31)over a ten-year period were assessed in this study by multivariate logistic regression *** There were more females than males(176,268 females,51,384 males)in this *** number of hospitalizations for AF among NG increased by 50%(17,295 in 2005 to 25,830 in 2014).Males were more likely to undergo cardioversion(6.14%of males vs.5.06%of females,P<0.0001).Over this period,in-hospital mortality declined from 3.21%in 2005 to 2.38%in 2014(P=0.0041),with higher in-hospital mortality in males(3.23%in males vs.2.76%in females,P=0.0138),mean length of hospitalization decreased from 4.53 days to 4.13 days(P<0.0001),the prevalence of congestive heart failure fell from 0.48%to 0.23%(P=0.0257),and the use of anticoagulation increased from 6.09%to 14.54%(P<0.0001).In a multivariate analysis,hospital admission on the weekend,Elixhauser comorbidity index,CHA2DS2VASc score,acute respiratory failure,and the length of hospital stay were associated with a higher risk of in-hospital *** From 2005 to 2014,AF-related hospitalizations among NGs increased,more so in in females population,mortality trends improved,rates of anticoagulation increased,and cardioversions *** the decreasing trend of in-hospital mortality since 2005,the relatively high mortality rate in males warrants further studies.

Assessment of groundwater quality in the flood plains of upper Palar River, India

Groundwater is generally presumed to be good for human consumption and is used as a main source of drinking water. Although there are numerous reasons for groundwater pollution, anthropogenic sources are consid-ered as the prime ones. In this study, twenty-two groundwater samples were collected from the flood plains of upper Palar River during the pre- and post-monsoon seasons to assess the extent of pollution and effects on human health. Physico-chemical characteristics of groundwater were analyzed and compared with those of drinking water standards recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The Piper's tri-linear diagram shows the nature of alkali earth with the high contents of alkalies and prevailing sulphate in the pre-sent samples. The univariate statistics and correlation analysis were performed to find out the relationships between the variables. The tannery effluents, solid wastes and sewage were suspected to be the predominant sources of pollu-tion in the area.
