iron ore pellets are the main feedstock in ironma.i.g processes. While extensive research has addressed numerical modeling of the iron ore pellet indura.i.n process, little effort has been made to describe the intricate thermochemical processes occurring within the reactor starting from the pellet and particularly at the intra-particle scale. in this regard, discrete-continuous methods like CFD-DEM can generate more rea.i.tic, irregular particle assemblies, which leads to significantly more accurate predictions of voidage va.i.tion, wall effects, temperature distribution, and associated mass transfer phenomena. This study presents a numerical model based on computa.i.nal fluid dyna.i.s (CFD) coupled with the discrete element method (DEM) to simulate the thermal indura.i.n process of iron ore pellets. The presented model solving heat, mass, and momentum conserva.i.n equa.i.ns for both continuous and discrete phases, provides detailed informa.i.n on the thermochemical aspects of the process. Pilot-scale indura.i.n experiment was conducted to va.i.ate model predictions in terms of thermal history and final conversion fraction. it was found that inlet charge specifica.i.ns, such as particle and pellet size, significantly impact the productivity of pelletizing plants, highlighting the potential of the presented model to optimize the process and improve plant productivity.

Recycling waste frying oils for the synthesis of flota.i.n reagents presents a promising avenue for sustainable waste ***,it offers a cost-effective solution for crafting a specia.i.ed collector designed to efficiently remove carbonates and enhance phosphate enrichment in froth flota.i.n *** study focuses on the synthesis of an a.i.nic collector using the saponifica.i.n reaction of a frying oil sample,subsequently applied to the flota.i.n of calcite and *** elucidate the adsorption mecha.i.ms of the frying oil collector(FrOC)and sodium oleate,a reference collector,on fluorapa.i.e,calcite,dolomite,and quartz surfaces,comprehensive experiments were conducted,including zeta potential measurements and Fourier transform infrared *** revealed diverse adsorption affinities of the molecules towards these *** assess the practical performance of the collector,flota.i.n tests were conducted using a natural phosphate ore mixture,employing a BoxBehnken experimental ***,under optimized conditions(pH 9,1000 g/t of FrOC,3.5 min of conditioning,and 6 min of flota.i.n),FrOC exhibited excellent performance,with calcite and dolomite recoveries exceeding 80%,while apa.i.e recovery in the concentrate fraction remained below 10%.This work exemplifies both circular economy practices and the distinctive approach to sustainable mineral processing.

in this study,we successfully synthesized Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag nanocomposites(NCPs) using the ultrasonicmediated sol-gel technique to create a multifunctional material with enhanced photocatalytic and antibacterial *** visible light photocatalytic activities of Er_(2)TiO_(5) nanoparticles(NPs) and Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag NCPs were systema.i.ally evaluated under va.i.us conditions,including different concentra.i.ns of Ba.i. Blue 41(BB 41) dye and *** results reveal a remarkable improvement in the photocatalytic degrada.i.n efficiency of Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag NCPs(95%) compared to Er_(2)TiO_(5) NPs(80%).Furthermore,the antibacterial efficacy of Er_(2)TiO_(5) NPs and Er2TiO_5@Ag NCPs were extensively exa.i.ed against Gram-positive and Gram-nega.i.e ***,Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag NCPs exhibit significantly higher minimum bactericidal concentra.i.n(MBC) values compared to Er_(2)TiO_(5) *** antibacterial effect of Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag NCPs is particularly pronounced against *** and Pseudomonas aeruginosa,while demonstra.i.g moderate effects on Escherichia coli and Enterococcus *** assess the biocompa.i.ility of the synthesized materials,we investigated their interna.i.a.i.n by MCF-7 ***,both Er_(2)TiO_(5) NPs and Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag NCPs are found to be effectively interna.i.ed by the cells,suggesting their potential applica.i.n in biomedical ***,our study unveils the exceptional potential of Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag NCPs as a dual-action solution,simultaneously possessing enhanced photocatalytic efficiency and potent antibacterial *** multifunctional nanocomposite not only outperforms Er_(2)TiO_(5) and Ag but also paves the way for innova.i.e applica.i.ns in sustainable environmental remedia.i.n and advanced biomedical technologies,promising a brighter and cleaner future.

Time-Series Embeddings from Language Models:A Tool for Wind Direction Nowcasting

Wind direction nowcasting is crucial in va.i.us sectors,particularly for ensuring a.i.tion opera.i.ns and *** this context,the TELMo(Time-series Embeddings from Language Models)model,a sophisticated deep learning architecture,has been introduced in this work for enhanced wind-direction *** by using three years of data from multiple sta.i.ns in the complex terrain of an interna.i.nal airport,TELMo incorporates the horizontal u(east-west)and v(north-south)wind components to significantly reduce forecasting *** a day with high wind direction va.i.bility,TELMo achieved mean absolute error values of 5.66 for 2-min,10.59 for 10-min,and 14.79 for 20-min forecasts,processed within a swift 9-ms/step *** degree-based analysis,in compa.i.on,yielded lower performance,empha.i.ing the effectiveness of the u and v *** contrast,a Va.i.la neural network,representing a shallow-learning approach,underperformed in all analyses,highlighting the superiority of deep learning methodologies in wind direction *** is an efficient model,capable of accurately forecasting wind direction for air traffic opera.i.ns,with an error less than 20°in 97.49%of the predictions,a.i.ning with recommended interna.i.nal *** model design enables its applica.i.ity across va.i.us geographical loca.i.ns,ma.i.g it a versa.i.e tool in global a.i.tion meteorology.

The genera.i.n of photovoltaic(PV)solar energy is increa.i.g continuously because it is renewable,unlimited,and clean *** the past,genera.i.n systems depended on non-renewable sources such as oil,coal,and ***,this paper assesses the performance of a 51 kW PV solar power plant connected to a low-voltage grid to feed an administra.i.e building in the 6th of October City,*** performance analysis of the considered grid-connected PV system is carried out using power system simulator for Engineering(PSS/E)*** the PSS/E program,monitors and uses the power analyzer that displays the parameters and measures some parameters such as current,voltage,total power,power factor,frequency,and current and voltage harmonics,the used inverter from the type of grid inverter for the considered *** results conclude that when the ma.i.um solar ra.i.tion is reached,the ma.i.um current can be obtained from the solar panels,thus obtaining the ma.i.um power and power *** total voltage harmonic distortion,a current harmonic distortion within permissible limits using active harmonic distortion because this type is fast in processing up to 300 *** connection between solar sta.i.ns and the na.i.nal grid makes the system more efficient.

eQUEST Based Building Energy Modeling Analysis for Energy Efficiency of Buildings

Building energy performance is a function of numerous building *** this study,sensitivity analysis on twenty parameters is performed to determine the top three parameters that have the most significant impact on the energy performance of *** data from two fully opera.i.nal commercial buildings were collected and used to develop a building energy model in the Quick Energy Simula.i.n Tool(eQUEST).The model is ca.i.rated using the Norma.i.ed Mean Bias Error(NMBE)and Coefficient of Va.i.tion of Root Mean Square Error(CV(RMSE))*** model sa.i.fies the NMBE and CV(RMSE)criteria set by the American Society of Hea.i.g,Refrigera.i.n,and Air-Conditioning(ASHRAE)Guideline 14,Federal Energy Management Program(FEMP),and interna.i.nal Performance Measurement and Verifica.i.n Protocol(iPMVP)for building energy model *** values of the parameters are va.i.d in two levels,and then the percentage change in output is *** factorial analysis on eight parameters with the highest percentage change in energy performance is performed at two levels in a sta.i.tical software *** building A,the top 3 parameters from the percentage change method are:Hea.i.g setpoint,cooling setpoint and server *** fractional factorial design,the top 3 parameters are:hea.i.g setpoint(p-value=0.00129),cooling setpoint(p-value=0.00133),and setback control(p-value=0.00317).For building B,the top 3 parameters from both methods are:Server room(pvalue=0.0000),hea.i.g setpoint(p-value=0.00014),and cooling setpoint(p-value=0.00035).if the best values for all top three parameters are taken simultaneously,energy efficiency improves by 29%for building A and 35%for building B.
