Vitamin D receptor （VDR） polymorphisms have been studied as potential contributors to multiple sclerosis （MS）. However, published studies differ with respect to study design and the significance of the effects detected. The aim of this study was to quantify the magnitude of the risk associated with the Taql, Bsml, Apal and Fold VDR polymorphisms in MS using a meta-analysis approach. Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines, we conducted a systematic search and meta-analysis of the literature. Subgroup analyses were performed to detect potential sources of heterogeneity from the selected study characteristics. The stability of the summary risk was evaluated using sensitivity analyses. The meta-analysis included a total of 3300 cases and 3194 controls from 13 case- control studies. There were no significant associations found between Taql and Bsml polymorphisms and MS risk. The association between the Apal polymorphism and MS risk was significant in the homozygous and codominant models （P=0.013 and P=0.031, respectively）, suggesting that the AA Apal genotype might be a significant MS risk factor. Publication year and age significantly affected the association between Taql polymorphisms and MS （P=0.014 and P=0.010, respectively）, which indicates a protective effect of the major T allele. The AA Apal and FF Fold genotypes are significant risk factors for MS. The association between the Taql polymorphism and MS risk is significantly affected by study characteristics.

Neurological involvement in Behcet＇s disease （BD）, namely, neuro-Behcet＇s disease （NBD）, causes devastating central ner- vous system （CNS） complications and is present in 5% to 30% of patients with BD.1 Immunological and molecular pathways are involved in NBD and include the release ofinterleukin （IL）- 1, -6 and -8, and TNF-α and IFN-γ into cerebrospinal fluid （CSF）,2 which reflects a nonspecific inflammatory pattern that is comnatihle with anta-inflammatnry disease pathways.

The structure of （E）-N-[（E）-3-[（lR,2R）-2-（3,4-dibromo-phenyl）-l-fluro-cyclopropyl]- allylidene]-2-0-tolyl-acetamide （C21HIsONFBrz, Mr = 479.18） has been determined by X-ray single- crystal diffraction and theoretical calculations to establish the configuration, stereochemistry and a stable conformation of the molecule. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c, a = 28.3452（10）, b = 4.9311（10）, c = 14.257（2） A, fl = 102.7654（10）, V = 1943.5（5） A3 and Z = 4. The structure has been refined to the final R = 0.05 for the observed structure factors with 1 〉 30（/）. Theoretical calculations in the ground state have been carried out for the compound studied using the Hartree-Fock （HF） and density functional theory （DFT）（B3LYP） with 6-31G（d,p） basis sets. The results show that the studied compound prefers the keto form. The compound involves intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonding of C-H.-.O and C-H-..F types, which further stabilize the structure and display a trans configuration for the C=N and C=C double bonds. The calculated results show that the predicted geometry can well reproduce the structural parameters.

The 4,4 dimethyl amino cyano biphenyl crystal (DMACB) is characterized by its nonlinear activity. The intra molecular charge transfer of this molecule results mainly from the electronic transmission of the electro-acceptor (cyano) and electro-donor (di-methyl-amino) groups. An accurate electron density distribution around the molecule has been calculated based on a high-resolution X-ray diffraction study. The data were collected at 123 K using graphite-monochromated Mo K α radiation to sin(β)/λ = 1.24 Å−1. The integrated intensities of 13796 reflections were measured and reduced to 6501 independent reflections with I ≥ 3σ(I). The crystal structure was refined using the experimental model of Hansen and Coppens (1978). The crystal structure has been validated and deposited at the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre with the deposition number CCDC 876507. In this article, we present the thermal motion and the structural analysis obtained from the least-square refinement based on F2 and the electron density distribution obtained from the multipolar model.

In this paper, an adaptive type-2 fuzzy sliding mode control to tolerate actuator faults of unknown nonlinear systems with external disturbances is presented. Based on a redundant actuation structure, a novel type-2 adaptive fuzzy fault tolerant control scheme is proposed using sliding mode control. Two adaptive type-2 fuzzy logic systems are used to approximate the unknown functions, whose adaptation laws are deduced from the stability analysis. The proposed approach allows to ensure good tracking performance despite the presence of actuator failures and external disturbances, as illustrated through a simulation example.

The discrimination of neutrons from gamma rays in a mixed radiation field is crucial in neutron detection *** approaches have been proposed to enhance the performance and accuracy of neutron-gamma ***,their performances are often associated with certain factors,such as experimental requirements and resulting mixed *** main purpose of this study is to achieve fast and accurate neutron-gamma discrimination without a priori information on the signal to be analyzed,as well as the experimental ***,a novel method is proposed based on two *** first method exploits the power of nonnegative tensor factorization(NTF)as a blind source separation method to extract the original components from the mixture signals recorded at the output of the stilbene scintillator *** second one is based on the principles of support vector machine(SVM)to identify and discriminate these *** addition to these two main methods,we adopted the Mexican-hat function as a continuous wavelet transform to characterize the components extracted using the NTF *** resulting scalograms are processed as colored images,which are segmented into two distinct classes using the Otsu thresholding method to extract the features of interest of the neutrons and gamma-ray components from the background *** subsequently used principal component analysis to select the most significant of these features wich are used in the training and testing datasets for ***-variance analysis is used to optimize the SVM model by finding the optimal level of model complexity with the highest possible generalization *** this framework,the obtained results have verified a suitable bias–variance trade-off *** achieved an operational SVM prediction model for neutron-gamma classification with a high true-positive *** accuracy and performance of the SVM based on the NTF was evaluated and validated by comparing it to the charge comparison

This work is devoted to the experimental determination of the electrostatic properties of the molecular 4-methyl-7-（salicylidene amino） coumarin（C17H13NC3） using high resolution x-ray diffraction data. The experimental results are compared with those obtained theoretically from calculation type ab initio. The experimental investigation is carried out using the molecular electron charge density distribution based on the multipolar model of Hansen and Coppens. However the theoretical calculations are conducted by using the molecular orbital B3 LYP method and the Hartree-Fock（HF） approximation with the basis set 6-31G（d,p） implemented in the Gaussian program. In addition to the structural analysis,the thermal agitation is also analyzed in terms of rigid blocks to ensure a better precision of the results. Subsequently, the electrostatic atomic and molecular properties such as the net charges, the molecular dipolar moment to highlight the nature of charge transfer existing within the molecule studied are derived. Moreover, the obtained electrostatic potential enables the localization of the electropositive and the electronegative parts of the investigated molecule. The present work reports in detail the obtained electrostatic properties of this biologically important molecule.

Power system stability is enhanced through a novel stabilizer developed around an adaptive fuzzy sliding mode approach which applies the Nussbaum gain to a nonlinear model of a single-machine infinite-bus （SMIB） and multi-machine power system stabilizer subjected to a three phase fault. The Nussbaum gain is used to avoid the positive sign constraint and the problem of controllability of the system. A comparative simulation study is presented to evaluate the achieved performance.

Alteration minerals and silicification are typically associated with a variety of ore mineralizations and could be detected using multispectral remote sensing sensors as indicators for mineral *** this investigation,the Visible Near-Infra-Red(VNIR),Short-Wave Infra-Red(SWIR),and Thermal Infra-Red(TIR)bands of the ASTER satellite sensor derived layers were fused to detect alteration minerals and silicification in east the Kerdous inlier for cupriferous mineralization *** image processing techniques were executed in the present investigation,namely,Band Ratio(BR),Selective Principal Component Analysis(SPCA)and Constrained Energy Minimization(CEM)***,the BR and SPCA processing results revealed several alteration zones,including argillic,phyllic,dolomitization and silicification as well as iron oxides and ***,these zones were mapped at sub-pixel level using the CEM ***,kaolinite,dolomite,illite,muscovite,montmorillonite,topaz and hematite were revealed displaying a significant distribution in relation with the eastern Amlen region lithological units and previously detected mineral potential zones using HyMap imaging ***,a close spatial association between iron oxides and hydroxide minerals,argillic,and phyllic alteration was detected,as well as a strong silicification was detected around doleritic dykes unit in Jbel Lkest area.A weighted overlay approach was used in the integration of hydrothermal alteration minerals and silicification,which allowed the elaboration of a new mineral alteration map of study area with five alteration *** and the various employed processing techniques allowed a practical and cost effective mapping of alteration features,which corroborates well with field survey and X-ray diffraction ***,ASTER data and the employed processing techniques offers a practical approach for mineral prospection in comparable settings.
