Formation and transformation of metastable LPSO building blocks clusters in Mg-Gd-Y-Zn-Zr alloys by spinodal decomposition and heterogeneous nucleation

To study the formation and transformation mechanism of long-period stacked ordered(LPSO)structures,a systematic atomic scale analysis was conducted for the structural evolution of long-period stacked ordered(LPSO)structures in the Mg-Gd-Y-Zn-Zr alloy annealed at 300℃~500℃.Various types of metastable LPSO building block clusters were found to exist in alloy structures at different temperatures,which precipitate during the solidification and homogenization *** stability of Zn/Y clusters is explained by the first principles of density functional *** LPSO structure is distinguished by the arrangement of its different Zn/Y enriched LPSO structural units,which comprises local fcc stacking sequences upon a tightly packed *** presence of solute atoms causes local lattice distortion,thereby enabling the rearrangement of Mg atoms in the different configurations in the local lattice,and local hCP-FCC transitions occur between Mg and Zn atoms occupying the nearest neighbor *** finding indicates that LPSO structures can generate necessary Schockley partial dislocations on specific slip surfaces,providing direct evidence of the transition from 18R to *** of the LPSO,devoid of any defects and non-coherent interfaces,was observed separately from other precipitated *** a result,the precipitation sequence of LPSO in the solidification stage was as follows:Zn/Ycluster+Mg layers→various metastable LPSO building block clusters→18R/24R LPSO;whereas the precipitation sequence of LPSO during homogenization treatment was observed to be as follows:18R LPSO→various metastable LPSO building block clusters→14h *** these,14h LPSO was found to be the most thermodynamically stable structure.

Surface engineering of 1D nanocatalysts for value-added selective electrooxidation of organic chemicals

Electrolytic water splitting by renewable energy is a technology with great potential for producing hydrogen(h_(2))without carbon emission,but this technical route is hindered by its huge energy(electricity)cost,which is mainly wasted by the anode oxygen evolution reaction(OER)while the value of the anode product(oxygen)is very *** the high-energy-cost OER with a selective organic compound electrooxidation carried out at a relatively lower potential can reduce the electricity cost while producing value-added ***,h_(2) generation coupled with synthesis of value-added organic compounds faces the challenge of low selectivity and slow generation rate of the anodic ***-dimensional(1D)nanocatalysts with a unique morphology,well-defined active sites,and good electron conductivity have shown excellent performance in many electrocatalytic *** rational design and regulation of 1D nanocatalysts through surface engineering can optimize the adsorption energy of intermediate molecules and improve the selectivity of organic electrooxidation ***,we summarized the recent research progress of 1D nanocatalysts applied in different organic electrooxidation reactions and introduced several different fabrication strategies for surface engineering of 1D ***,we focused on the relationship between surface engineering and the selectivity of organic electrooxidation reaction ***,future challenges and development prospects of 1D nanocatalysts in the coupled system consisting of organic electrooxidation and hydrogen evolution reactions are briefly outlined.

Strength and ductility optimization of hPDC AlSi8MgCuZn2 alloys by modifying pre-aging treatment

Considering the components produced by high pressure die casting(hPDC)process usually with ultra-large sizes and complex morphologies,high temperature solid solution treatment is not a suitable method to further improve their mechanical *** this study,two-stage aging treatment with different pre-aging times was designed and employed to further improve the mechanical properties of hPDC Al8SiMgCuZn *** characteristics of precipitates were evaluated by a transmission electron microscope(TEM),and the precipitation strengthening mechanism was *** results reveal that the strengthening is mainly contributed by the precipitation ofβ″phase after two-stage aging,and the number density and size of the precipitates are significantly depended on the pre-aging *** number density of precipitates is increased with the pre-aging time prolonged from 0 h to 4 h,and then decreases with the further increase of pre-aging time from 4 h to 6 *** precipitates with the highest density and smallest size are observed after pre-aging for 4 *** pre-aged at 100℃for 4 h and then artificial aged at 200℃for 30 min,the yield strength of 207 MPa,ultimate tensile strength of 325 MPa and elongation of 7.6%are achieved.

Benzyl and phenylpropanoid acids are widely used in organic synthesis of fine chemicals,such as pharmaceuticals and ***,biocatalysis of these acids has received less attention than chemical *** of the main challenges for biological production is the limited availability of alcohol dehydrogenases and aldehyde *** microorganisms are potential sources of these *** this study,129 alcohol dehydrogenases and 42 aldehyde dehydrogenases from Corynebacterium glutamicum,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,and Bacillus subtilis were identified and explored with various benzyl and phenylpropanoid alcohol and aldehyde substrates,among which four alcohol dehydrogenases and four aldehyde dehydrogenases with broad substrate specificity and high catalytic activity were ***,a cascade whole-cell catalytic system including ADh-90,ALDh-40,and the NAD(P)h oxidase LreNox was established,which showed high efficiency in converting cinnamyl alcohol and p-methylbenzyl alcohol into the respective carboxylic ***,this biocatalytic system can be easily scaled up to gram-level production,facilitating preparation purposes.

Electrochemical reconstruction of non-noble metal-based heterostructure nanorod arrays electrodes for highly stable anion exchange membrane seawater electrolysis

Direct seawater electrolysis for hydrogen production has been regarded as a viable route to utilize surplus renewable energy and address the climate ***,the harsh electrochemical environment of seawater,particularly the presence of aggressive Cl^(-),has been proven to be prone to parasitic chloride ion oxidation and corrosion reactions,thus restricting seawater electrolyzer ***,hierarchical structure(Ni,Fe)O(Oh)@NiCoS nanorod arrays(NAs)catalysts with heterointerfaces and localized oxygen vacancies were synthesized at nickel foam substrates via the combination of hydrothermal and annealing methods to boost seawater *** hiera rchical nanostructure of NiCoS NAs enhanced electrode charge transfer rate and active surface area to accelerate oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and generated sulfate gradient layers to repulsive aggressive Cl^(-).The fabricated heterostructure and vacancies of(Ni,Fe)O(Oh)tuned catalyst electronic structure into an electrophilic state to enhance the binding affinity of hydroxyl intermediates and facilitate the structural transformation into amorphousγ-NiFeOOh for promoting ***,through operando electrochemistry techniques,we found that theγ-NiFeOOh possessing an unsaturated coordination environment and lattice-oxygen-participated OER mechanism can minimize electrode Cl^(-)corrosion enabled by stabilizing the adsorption of Oh*intermediates,making it one of the best OER catalysts in the seawater medium reported to ***,these catalysts can deliver current densities of 100 and 500 mA cm-2for boosting OER at minimal overpotentials of 245and 316 mV,respectively,and thus prevent chloride ion oxidation ***,a highly stable anion exchange membrane(AEM)seawater electrolyzer based on the non-noble metal heterostructure electrodes reached a record low degradation rate under 100μV h-1at constant industrial current densities of 400 and 600 mA cm-2over 300 h,which exhibits a promi

Repurposing diacerein to suppress colorectal cancer growth by inhibiting the DCLK1/STAT3 signaling pathway

Double cortin-like kinase 1(DCLK1)exhibits high expression levels across various cancers,notably in human colorectal cancer(CRC).Diacerein,a clinically approved interleukin(IL)-1βinhibitor for osteoarthritis treatment,was evaluated for its impact on CRC proliferation and migration,alongside its underlying mechanisms,through both in vitro and in vivo *** study employed MTT assay,colony formation,wound healing,transwell assays,flow cytometry,and hoechst 33342 staining to assess cell proliferation,migration,and ***,proteome microarray assay and western blotting analyses were conducted to elucidate diacerein’s specific mechanism of *** findings indicate that diacerein significantly inhibits DCLK1-dependent CRC growth in vitro and in *** high-throughput proteomics microarray and molecular docking studies,we identified that diacerein directly interacts with ***,the suppression of p-STAT3 expression following DCLK1 inhibition by diacerein or specific DCLK1 siRNA was ***,diacerein effectively disrupted the DCLK1/STAT3 signaling pathway and its downstream targets,including MCL-1,VEGF,and survivin,thereby inhibiting CRC progression in a mouse model,thereby inhibiting CRC progression in a mouse model.

high-energy density lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)with layered high-nickel oxide cathodes(LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(1-x-y)O_(2),x≥0.8)show great promise in consumer electronics and vehicular ***,LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(1-x-y)O_(2)faces challenges related to capacity decay caused by residual alkalis owing to high sensitivity to *** address this issue,we propose a hazardous substances upcycling method that fundamentally mitigates alkali content and concurrently induces the emergence of an anti-air-sensitive layer on the cathode *** the neutralization of polyacrylic acid(PAA)with residual alkalis and then coupling it with 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane(Kh550),a stable and ion-conductive cross-linked polymer layer is in situ integrated into the LiNi_(0.89)Co_(0.06)Mn_(0.05)O_(2)(NCM)*** characterization and measurements demonstrate its *** NCM material exhibits impressive cycling performance,retaining 88.4%of its capacity after 200 cycles at 5 C and achieving an extraordinary specific capacity of 170.0 mA h g^(-1) at 10 ***,this layer on the NCM efficiently suppresses unfavorable phase transitions,severe electrolyte degradation,and CO_(2)gas evolution,while maintaining commendable resistance to air *** surface modification strategy shows widespread potential for creating air-stable LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(1-x-y)O_(2)cathodes,thereby advancing high-performance LIBs.

Cauchy matrix approach for h1a equation in the torqued Adler–Bobenko–Suris lattice list

As a torqued version of the lattice potential Korteweg–de Vries equation, the h1ais an integrable nonsymmetric lattice equation with only one spacing parameter. In this paper, we present the Cauchy matrix scheme for this equation. Soliton solutions, Jordan-block solutions and soliton-Jordan-block mixed solutions are constructed by solving the determining equation set. All the obtained solutions have jumping property between constant values for fixed n and demonstrate periodic structure.

Solid-state atomic hydrogen as a broad-spectrum RONS scavenger for accelerated diabetic wound healing

hydrogen therapy shows great promise as a versatile treatment method for diseases associated with the overexpression of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species（RONS）. however, developing an advanced hydrogen therapy platform that integrates controllable hydrogen release, efficient RONS elimination, and biodegradability remains a giant technical challenge. In this study, we demonstrate for the first time that the tungsten bronze phase h0.53WO3（hWO） is an exceptionally ideal hydrogen carrier, with salient features including temperature-dependent highly-reductive atomic hydrogen release and broad-spectrum RONS scavenging capability distinct from that of molecular hydrogen. Moreover, its unique p h-responsive biodegradability ensures post-therapeutic clearance at pathological sites. Treatment with hWO of diabetic wounds in an animal model indicates that the solid-state atomic h promotes vascular formation by activating M2-type macrophage polarization and anti-inflammatory cytokine production, resulting in acceleration of chronic wound healing. Our findings significantly expand the basic categories of hydrogen therapeutic materials and pave the way for investigating more physical forms of hydrogen species as efficient RONS scavengers for clinical disease treatment.

Oxidative Desulfurization of Fuel Oil with h_(3)PO_(4)-based Deep Eutectic Solvents

A series of Lewis-acid deep eutectic solvents (DESs) were synthesized by stirring phosphoric acid and zincchloride as raw materials at 80℃ to form h_(3)PO_(4)/nZnCl_(2) (n = 0.1, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1). The DESs were characterized byFourier transform infrared spectrophotometry (FT-IR), thermogravimetry/differential thermogravimetry (TG/DTG), andelectron spray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). The DESs were used as both extractants and catalysts to removedibenzothiophene from fuels via oxidative desulfurization (ODS). Experiments were performed to investigated the influenceof factors such as composition of DES, temperature, oxidant dosage (molar ratio of O:S), DES dosage (volume ratio ofDES:oil), and number of cycles on desulfurization rate. The results indicated that the removal rate of dibenzothiophene (DBT)was affected by the Lewis acidic DESs, with that of h_(3)PO_(4)/0.25∙ZnCl_(2) reaching 96.4% under optimal conditions (Voil=5 mL,VDES=1 mL, an oxidant dosage of 6, T=50 ℃). After six cycles, the desulfurization rate of h_(3)PO_(4)/0.25∙ZnCl_(2) remained above94.1%. The apparent activation energy of dibenzothiophene (DBT) removal reaction was determined by a pseudo-first orderkinetic equation according to the Arrhenius equation to be 32.34 kJ/mol, as estimated. A reaction mechanism is proposedbased on the experimental data and characterization results.
