Previously, the gravitational lens of a wormhole was introduced by various researchers. Their treatment was focused basically on the lens signature that describes wormhole geometrical character such as the differences from a black hole or between any various types of wormhole models. The braneworld scenario provides the idea of spacetime with underlying extra-dimensions. The inclusion of extra-dimensional terms in the lens object spacetime line element will result in some variation in the expression for its gravitational lens deflection angle. Thus in this paper we investigate such variation by deriving this deflection angle expression. As such, this paper not only shows the existence of such variation but also suggests the potential utilization of gravitational lensing to prove the existence of extra dimensions by studying the deflection angle characteristic in accordance with the spacetime expansion rate of the universe.

AIM: Tono-pen measurement of intraocular pressure(IOP) under topical anaesthesia in full term normal newborns. ·METhODS: The IOP measurements were taken using Tono-pen XL tonometer under topical anaesthesia in 150 newborns(300 eyes) within 24h after birth,over a period of three months,in a university hospital. Gender,gestation period,mode of delivery and birth weight of newborns were noted from medical records. ·RESULTS: There were 70 males and 80 females. All babies were Malays. The IOP measurements were taken between 12 and 24h after birth. The gestation period of babies ranged between 37 and 41 weeks; 118 babies were delivered by spontaneous vaginal delivery and 32 by caesarian section. The birth weight of babies ranged between 2.1 and 4.3kg. The mean IOP of 300 eyes was 15.99±2.79mmhg(range 8-22). There was no statistically significant difference of mean IOP and gender,laterality of eye,type of delivery,gestation age,or birth weight of newborns. ·CONCLUSION: The IOP in full term normal newborns was 16mmhg. Tono-Pen appears to be ideal instrument for taking IOP in newborns because of its small size and easy handling.

The effects of a harmonically exciting monopole source on an infinitely long cylindrical cavity embedded entirely within a fluid-saturated poroelastic formation of infinite extent are examined theoretically. It is assumed that the source is located outside the cavity at a specified distance from the borehole axis. The magnitudes of the hoop and radial stresses beside the pore pressures exerted on the interface and inside the porous medium surrounding the borehole are calculated and discussed. Biot's poroelastic modeling along with three types of boundary conditions for the cylindrical interface including the ideal fluid, empty borehole, and rigid inclusion with a hard boundary is employed for the analysis. Utilizing a proper translational addition theorem for expressing the incident spherical wave in terms of cylindrical wave expansions, the proposed boundary conditions at the interface are satisfied. Stresses are formulated by means of wave potential functions in a three-dimensional(3D) manner. The effects of the frequency and the radial distance between the source and borehole on the induced stresses are examined for the first cylindrical modes over frequency spectra. Two permeability conditions for the interface and three types of soils for the porous formation are considered throughout the analysis. To give an overall outline of the study, a numerical example is presented. The results clearly indicate that the distance is a key parameter and has considerable effects on the induced stress values. In addition, the interface permeability condition and soil characteristics play an important role in determining the dynamic response of the borehole. Finally,the obtained results are compared with the relevant analyses existing in the literature for some limit cases, and good agreement is achieved.

This paper proposes one method of feature selection by using Bayes＇ theorem. The purpose of the proposed method is to reduce the computational complexity and increase the classification accuracy of the selected feature subsets. The dependence between two attributes （binary） is determined based on the probabilities of their joint values that contribute to positive and negative classification decisions. If opposing sets of attribute values do not lead to opposing classification decisions （zero probability）, then the two attributes are considered independent of each other, otherwise dependent, and one of them can be removed and thus the number of attributes is reduced. The process must be repeated on all combinations of attributes. The paper also evaluates the approach by comparing it with existing feature selection algorithms over 8 datasets from University of California, Irvine （UCI） machine learning databases. The proposed method shows better results in terms of number of selected features, classification accuracy, and running time than most existing algorithms.

For a better visual impression,3D information systems and architecture need detailed,photo-realistic visualization of 3D ***,easy accessibility with efficient rendering becomes difficult due to the detailed data associated with 3D ***,different applications demand different levels of detail(LoD).Currently,City Geography Markup Language(CityGML),as the Open Geospatial Consortium standard,is being used to model and represent buildings in different LoDs(LoD0–LoD4),but it does not provide methods to generate different LoDs ***,generalized(abstracted)3D scenes of buildings need to be generated to fulfill the demands of task-specific applications by reducing data *** paper discusses various ways to generalize building models,within the framework of CityGML,reducing the level of detail from higher LoD to *** LoD4 data is parsed and *** heuristics are applied to simplify the ground plan and the results are then *** minimum length of an edge for simplification is restricted to the CityGML generalization specifications provided and is characterized by differing accuracies and minimal dimensions of objects for LoD1 and *** could maintain the accuracy of generalized objects and avoid the elimination or merging of important ***,the heights of the walls of the simplified ground plans are raised with the aim to construct simplified 3D building *** for simplification and aggregation aiming to derive LoD2 and LoD1 are implemented and tested on a number of buildings of Putrajaya,*** experiment results show that the minimum length of edges to be simplified is inversely proportional to the size of generalized models.

3D navigation within a 3D-GIS environment is increasingly getting more popular and spreading to various *** thelast decade,especially after the 9/11 disaster,evacuating the complex and tall buildings of today in case of emergencyhas been an important research area for *** of the current navigation systems are still in the 2D environmentand that is insufficient to visualize 3D objects and to obtain satisfactory solutions for the 3D ***,there is currently still a lack of implementation of 3D network analysis and navigation for indoor spaces in respect *** objective of this paper is to investigate and implement 3D visualization and navigation techniques andsolutions for indoor spaces within *** realizing this,we have proposed a GIS implementation that is capable ofcarrying out 3D visualization of a building model stored in the CityGML format and perform analysis on a networkmodel stored in Oracle *** proposed GUI also provides routing simulation on the calculated shortest paths withvoice commands and visual instructions.
