OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of acupressure applied to UB60 and K3 acupuncture points in order to relieve the procedural pain caused by heel lancing blood sampling process in the term ***:The data were collected by using the Information Form and the Neonatal Infant Pain *** applied for 3 min before heel lancing blood sampling in the newborns in the experimental group(n=31).No intervention was applied to newborns in the control group(n=32).RESulTS:A significant difference was found between mean scores of the newborns in the control and acupressure group in favor of the acupressure group in terms of heart rate during and after the procedure,oxygen saturation before,during and after the procedure,duration of crying during and after the procedure(Pult,acupressure was found to be an effective method in relieving pain caused by heel lancing blood sampling in newborns.

The deaf-mutes population is constantly feeling helpless when others do not understand them and vice *** fill this gap,this study implements a CNN-based neural network,Convolutional Based Attention Module(CBAM),to recognise Malaysian Sign Language(MSL)in videos *** study has created 2071 videos for 19 dynamic *** different experiments were conducted for dynamic signs,using CBAM-3DResNet implementing‘Within Blocks’and‘Before Classifier’*** metrics such as the accuracy,loss,precision,recall,F1-score,confusion matrix,and training time were recorded to evaluate the models’*** showed that CBAM-ResNet models had good performances in videos recognition tasks,with recognition rates of over 90%with little ***‘Before Classifier’is more efficient than‘Within Blocks’models of *** experiment results indicated the CBAM-ResNet‘Before Classifier’efficiency in recognising Malaysian Sign Language and its worth of future research.

In this investigation local clay from Cherat mines, Nowshera District, NWFP, Pakistan, has been tested as a pozzolanic material in high strength Portland cement. Thermal treatments were performed as a means of activation of the clay. It was found that thermal treatment of the clay can increase its pozzolanic activity. Different blended mortars, containing different amounts of clay, activated at different temperatures were studied for compressive strength, consistency, and setting times. It was concluded that the mechanical properties of the blended cements were mainly governed by the percentage of incorporation of the calcined clay. Blended cement composition has been for-mulated, with optimal results of 20% calcined clay at a temperature of 600℃.

Straw incorporation is a widespread practice to promote agricultural ***,the potential effects of straw incorporation with the prolonged time on nitrogen(N)runoff loss from paddy fields are not well *** current study addresses the knowledge gap by assessing the effects of straw incorporation on the processes influencing N runoff patterns and its impacts on crop yield,N uptake,total N(TN),and soil organic matter(SOM).We conducted field experiments with rice(Oryza sativa L.)–wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)rotation,rice–tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum L.)rotation,and double-rice cropping in subtropical China from 2008 to *** rotation had three N treatments:zero N fertilization(CK),chemical N fertilization(CF),and chemical N fertilization combined with straw incorporation(CFS).The treatment effects were assessed on TN runoff loss,crop yield,N uptake,soil TN stock,and *** showed that TN runoff was reduced by substituting part of the chemical N fertilizer with straw N in the double rice rotation,while crop N uptake was significantly(P<0.05)decreased due to the lower bioavailability of straw *** contrast,in both rice–wheat and rice–tobacco rotations,TN runoff in CFS was increased by 0.9–20.2%in the short term when straw N was applied in addition to chemical N,compared to ***,TN runoff was reduced by 2.3–19.3%after three years of straw incorporation,suggesting the long-term benefits of straw incorporation on TN loss ***,crop N uptake was increased by 0.8–37.3%in the CFS of both *** study demonstrates the challenges in reducing N runoff loss while improving soil fertility by straw incorporation over the short term but highlights the potential of long-term straw incorporation to reduce N loss and improve soil productivity.

The conversion of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))into high-value added energy fuels and chemicals(CO,formate,C_(2)H_(4),etc.)through electrochemical reduction(eCO_(2)R)is a promising avenue to sustainable ***,low selectivity,barren activity and poor stability of the electrodes hinder the large-scale application of eCO_(2)***,we reported a copper-indium-organic-framework(CuIn-MOF)based high-performance catalyst for eCO_(2)***-trochemical measurement results reveal that CuIn-MOF exhibits high Faradaic efficiency(FE)of CO and formate(300 mV,FE_(CO)=78.6%at-0.86 V ***,FE_(HCOO^(-))=48.4%at-1.16 V ***,respectively)in a broad range of current density(20.1–88.4 mA cm^(-2))with long-term stability(6 h)for eCO_(2)R in 0.5 M KHCO_(3)electrolyte ***,through anion-regulation engineering,SO_(4)^(2-)anion precursor is more beneficial for the formic acid generation than NO_(3)^(-)anion precursor;while for SO_(4)^(2-)anion precursor,Cu plays a positive regulating role in eCO_(2)R to CO compared to ***,the high performance in a home-made eCO_(2)R reactor derives benefit from enhanced intrinsic activity and charge re-distribution can be attributed to the formation of In-doped Cu layer.

We study the centrality dependence of the mid-rapidity(|y| < 0.5) yields and transverse momentum distributions of K~*(892)~0 and φ(1020) resonances produced in Pb + Pb collisions at sNN^(1/2)= 2.76 TeV. The midrapidity density( dN/dy) and the shape of the transverse momentum spectra are well reproduced by an earlier proposed Unified Statistical Thermal Freeze-out Model(USTFM), which incorporates the effects of both longitudinal as well as transverse hydrodynamic flow. The freeze-out properties in terms of kinetic freeze-out temperature and transverse flow velocity parameter are extracted from the model fits to the transverse momentum data provided by the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The kinetic freeze-out temperature is found to increase with decreasing event centrality while the transverse flow velocity parameter shows a mild decrease on moving towards peripheral collisions. Moreover the centrality dependence of the mid-rapidity system size at freeze-out has also been studied in terms of transverse radius parameter.

Anomalous situations in surveillance videos or images that may result in security issues,such as disasters,accidents,crime,violence,or terrorism,can be identified through video anomaly ***,differentiat-ing anomalous situations from normal can be challenging due to variations in human activity in complex environments such as train stations,busy sporting fields,airports,shopping areas,military bases,care centers,*** learning models’learning capability is leveraged to identify abnormal situations with improved *** work proposes a deep learning architecture called Anomalous Situation Recognition Network(ASRNet)for deep feature extraction to improve the detection accuracy of various anomalous image *** proposed framework has five *** the first step,pretraining of the proposed architecture is performed on the CIFAR-100 *** the second step,the proposed pre-trained model and Inception V3 architecture are used for feature extraction by utilizing the suspicious activity recognition *** the third step,serial feature fusion is performed,and then the Dragonfly algorithm is utilized for feature optimization in the fourth ***,using optimized features,various Support Vector Machine(SVM)and K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN)based classification models are utilized to detect anomalous *** proposed framework is validated on the suspicious activity dataset by varying the number of optimized features from 100 to *** results show that the proposed method is effective in detecting anomalous situations and achieves the highest accuracy of 99.24%using cubic SVM.

Load flow analysis is a significant tool for proper planning,operation,and dynamic analysis of a power system that provides the steady-state values of voltage magnitudes and angles at the fundamental ***,due to the absence of a slack bus in an islanded microgrid,modified load flow algorithms should be adopted considering the system frequency as one of the solution *** paper proposes the application of nature-inspired hybrid optimization algorithms for solving the load flow problem of islanded *** nature-inspired algorithms such as genetic algorithm(GA),differential evolution(DE),flower pollination algorithm(FPA),and grasshopper optimization algorithm(GOA)are separately merged with imperialistic competitive algorithm(ICA)to form four hybrid algorithms named as ICGA,ICDE,ICFPA,and *** of these algorithms are tested on the 6-bus test system and the modified IEEE 37-bus test system.A comparison among the proposed algorithms is carried out in terms of statistical analysis conducted using SPSS statistics *** the statistical analysis,it is identified that on an average,ICDE takes less number of iterations and consequently needs less execution time compared with other algorithms in solving the load flow problem of islanded microgrids.
