This paper presents a study on COb>2b> atmospheric transformation which was reacted directly with lithium hydroxide solution and metallic lithium. This solution was obtained through the reaction between metallic lithium and deionized water where hydrogen is produced and by exposing the metal at ambient conditions. In the transformation process, atmospheric COb>2b> gas reacts directly with LiOH solution, in both cases, the COb>2b> transformation kinetics was different. For this purpose, reactions between COb>2b> and LiOH solution were carried out under controlled temperature and the second process only with metallic lithium, which was exposed at room temperature, however, in these two processes lithium carbonate oxide was formed and identified. According to the results, the efficiency in COb>2b> transformation is a function of temperature value which was variable until completely obtaining the by-product, its XRD characterization indicated the formation only of Lib>2b>COb>3b> in both procedures. Under laboratory conditions lithium compounds selectively reacted with COb>2b>. In the same way, there is an alternative procedure to obtain LiOH and Lib>2b>COb>3b> for different applications in various areas.

得益于数字全息与几何相位平面光学技术的逐渐成熟,空间结构光场调控及应用研究已在线性光学领域取得蓬勃发展。与之相比,以非线性光学为物理途径的相关研究虽能实现许多关键功能(如光场间信息交互)却仍处于起步阶段。笔者课题组在国家自然科学基金等项目的支持下,近期聚焦光场调控与非线性光学领域前沿问题“空间多模态经典及量子光场的非线性产生、变换及接口技术”,重点突破了空间全维度参量变换理论与相关技术瓶颈,取得了一系列理论及应用创新成果,为高维量子光学相关实验研究的开展打下坚实基础。

This work gives an introduction to the R package nORRRM whose main purpose is to calculate the CIPW norm. Although there are many softwares and spreadsheets available to estimate the standard mineral assemblages in igneous rocks, this package has the following advantages: a) it has the ability to be run on any operating computer systems (bSD, GnU/Linux, Mac OS X®, Windows®);b) an input argument allows choose different procedures to set the Fe-oxidation ratio;c) the options to use whole-rock major as well as minor oxides and trace elements in the computation;d) the output data yields highly consistent results achieving absolute match between the sum of the input weights of oxides recalculated on an anhydrous basis and the sum of the weights of estimated normative minerals and;e) the functions are written in R language and released under terms that guarantee users the freedom to study, adapt, modify, and distribute the software.

Cancer is a widespread worldwide chronic disease. In most cases, the high mortality rate from cancer correlates with a lack of clear symptoms, which results in late diagnosis for patients, and consequently, advanced tumor disease with poor probabilities for cure, since many patients will show chemo-and radio-resistance. Several mechanisms have been studied to explain chemo-and radio-resistance to anti-tumor therapies, including cell signaling pathways, anti-apoptotic mechanisms, stemness, metabolism, and cellular phenotypes. Interestingly, the presence of cancer stem cells(CSCs), which are a subset of cells within the tumors, has been related to therapy resistance. In this review, we focus on evaluating the presence of CSCs in different tumors such as breast cancer, gastric cancer, lung cancer, and hematological neoplasias, highlighting studies where CSCs were identified in patient samples. It is evident that there has been a great drive to identify the cell surface phenotypes of CSCs so that they can be used as a tool for anti-tumor therapy treatment design. We also review the potential effect of nanoparticles, drugs, natural compounds, aldehyde dehydrogenase inhibitors, cell signaling inhibitors, and antibodies to treat CSCs from specific tumors. Taken together, we present an overview of the role of CSCs in tumorigenesis and how research is advancing to target these highly tumorigenic cells to improve oncology patient outcomes.

Objective: To evaluate the recognition of nS4 b mimotope, as multiple antigen peptide(MAP), by dengue antibodies presents in serum samples from patients with different serotype infections. Methods: A MAP containing mimotope sequence was synthesized and used to evaluate the recognition of nS4 b mimotope as MAP by a panel of 66 human sera from dengue cases by an indirect ELISA assay. Results: The MAP differentiated between sera from dengue viruses infected patients and sera from healthy individuals and the best reactivity was shown by serum from dengue type 3 virus patients. The recognition was more intense with serum from patients with secondary infection. Conclusions: The findings suggest the potential use of nS4 b mimotope on the development of a multi-epitope diagnostic tool. These results are important for further immunogenicity studies.

Guava fruit is rich in phenolic compounds(PCs),whose metabolic fate has not been ***-digestible carbohydrates and PCs in whole guava(WG)and seedless guava(SG)were submitted to an in vitro colonic fermentation,followed by evaluation of the anti-proliferative activity of the fermentation extracts in HT-29 cancer cell *** main PCs in both samples were(+)-gallocatechin and gallic acid,while procyanidin b was the most abundant one associated with soluble indigestible fraction and quercetin predominated in the insoluble indigestible *** fermentability index at 24 h was 78.84%in WG and 84.74%for SG,near to the value for raffinose used as reference,with butyric acid as the main short chain fatty acids(SCFA)*** greatest antiproliferative effects were observed in the SG at 12 h of fermentation and WG at 24 h of *** results allow to suggest consumption of guava fruit,either with or without seeds,as a feasible way to maintain colonic health.

Mutations in DnA repair enzymes can cause two neurological clinical manifestations:a developmental impairment and a degenerative *** kinase 3′-phosphatase(PnKP)is an enzyme that is actively involved in DnA repair in both single and double strand break repair *** in this protein or others in the same pathway are responsible for a complex group of diseases with a broad clinical ***,mitochondrial dysfunction also has been consolidated as a hallmark of brain *** we provide evidence that supports a shared role between mitochondrial dysfunction and DnA repair defects in the pathogenesis of the nervous *** models,we analyze PnKP-related disorders,focusing on Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and ataxia.A better understanding of the molecular dynamics of this relationship could provide improved diagnosis and treatment for neurological diseases.

Various surgical techniques and approaches have been described to repair cleft nose deformities. It is necessary to consider that since it is a congenital deformity, surgical management must consider the patient’s growth process, as well as the healing itself from the surgery. The present study aims to evaluate an alternative solution to secondary rhinology, aesthetic, and functional alterations to unilateral or bilateral cleft lift palate to minimize deformities and ensure good results. 11 patients were studied between 1995 to 2002, ten male and one female. In 8 cases, the patients had a history of cleft lip and palate on the left side, 2 patients with cleft lift palate on the right, and 1 patient with bilateral cleft lip and palate. 100% of the patients increased their naso-labial angle. This improved their appearance and structure, starting from a preoperative arithmetic mean of 39 degrees to a postoperative arithmetic mean of 96 degrees. Such intervention increased the naso-labial angle by 57 degrees. At the base of the nose, it was possible to improve the inclination of the alar line (line b) in 10 of the cases with a variation of 2 to 3 mm in relation to the perpendicular line A and only one case remained with the same inclination.
