Background As the most widely cultivated fiber crop,cotton production depends on hybridization to unlock the yield potential of current varieties.A deep understanding of genetic dissection is crucial for the cultivation of enhanced hybrid plants with desired traits,such as high yield and fine fiber *** this study,the general combining ability(GCa.a.d specific combining ability(SCA)of yield and fiber quality of nine cotton parents(six lines and three testers)and eighteen F1 crosses produced using a line×tester mating design were *** The results revealed significant effects of genotypes,parents,crosses,and interactions between parents and crosses for most of the studied ***,the effects of both additive and non-additive gene actions played a notably significant role in the inheritance of most of the yield and fiber quality *** F1 hybrids of(Giza 90×Aust)×Giza 86,Uzbekistan 1×Giza 97,and Giza 96×Giza 97 demonstrated superior performance due to their favorable integration of high yield attributes and premium fiber quality *** a.a.ysis revealed that lint yield has the highest positive direct effect on seed cotton yield,while lint percentage showed the highest negative direct effect on seed cotton *** component a.a.ysis identified specific parents and hybrids associated with higher cotton yield,fiber quality,and other agronomic *** This study provides insights into identifying potential single-and three-way cross hybrids with superior cotton yield and fiber quality cha.a.teristics,laying a foundation for future research on improving fiber quality in cotton.

Developing a biomaterial for wound healing applications is still a ***,dysprosium oxide(Dy_(2)O_(3)),aluminum oxide(Al_(2)O_(3)),and graphene oxide(GO)were embedded in cast films based on polycaprolactone(PCL)to be examined for wound dressing *** techniques were used to cha.a.terize the fabricated films including X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),Ra.a.,and scanning electron microscopy(SEM),besides their biological *** thermogravimetric a.a.ysis(TGA)exhibits high thermal stability as the scaffold weight decreases slightly to 98.6%after raising the temperature from room temperature to 280℃.The cell viability was investigated and it is shown that the viable cells grow up to approximately 93%at 75μg/***,the cell attachment shows excellent behavior as the cells attach on most of the surface of the modified PCL which shows high biocompatibility.

Acoustic wave propa.a.ion in piezoelectric crystals of classes?43m and 23 is studied. The crystals Tl3VS4 and Tl3TaSe4 (43m) of the Chalcogenide family and the crystal Bi12TiO20 (23) possess strong piezoelectric effect. Because the surface Bleustein-Gulyaev waves cannot exist in piezoelectric cubic crystals, it was concluded that new solutions for shear-horizontal surface acoustic waves (SH-SAWs) are found in the monocrystals using different electrical boundary conditions such as electri- cally “short” and “open” free-surfaces for the unique [101] direction of wave propa.a.ion. For the crystal Tl3TaSe4 with coefficient of electromechanical coupling (CEMC) Ke2=e2/(C×g)～1/3, the phase velocity Vph for the new SH-SAWs can be calculated with the following formula: Vph=(Va+Vt)/2, where Vt is the speed of bulk SH-wave, Vt=Vt4(1+Ke2)1/2, Va.a.Vt4, aK=2[Ke(1+Ke2)1/2-Ke2]1/2, and Vt4=(C44/ρ)1/2. It was found that the CEMC K2 evaluation for Tl3TaSe4 gave the value of K2=2(Vf–Vm)/Vf～0.047 (～4.7%), where Vf～848 m/s and Vm^828 m/s are the new-SAW velocities for the free and metallized surfaces, respectively. This high value of K2(Tl3TaSe4) is significantly greater than K2(Tl3VS4)～3% and about five times that of K2(Bi12TiO20).

The interca.a.ion of organic guests, 2-methyl pyridine （2-picoline） and 3-methyl pyridine （3-picoline） into semiconductor layered nanomaterial （MnPS3） was investigated. New conditions were applied. New phases appeared and lattice expansions were 0.36 nm for 2-picoline interca.a.ion and 0.728 nm for 3-picoline inter- ca.a.ion. The XRD （X- ray diffraction） patterns exhibit sharp hkl reflections confirming that the material is highly crystalline. The interlayer gap （0.64 nm） of the host plays a role for the arrangement of the guest in the interlayer region. The crystal structure of the MnPS3 was indexed in the monoclinic system before inter- ca.a.ion. After interca.a.ion, the crystal system was indexed in the trigonal unit cell. The lattice pa.a.eters were obtained and c-axis value was related to the （001） reflections.

The possibility for obtaining of composite micropowders of the W-Cu system with spherical particles having sub-microscale/nanoscale internal structure was confirmed and studied using the complex multistage approach. Composite W-Cu nanoparticles with core–shell structure (W cores and Cu shells) were produced in plasmochemical synthesis by the first stage. Further spray-drying of the aqueous suspension of the W-Cu nanopowder with sucrose enabled the formation of 25–63 μm microgranules with a yield of 50%. The last step was treatment of the nanopowder microgranules by a thermal plasma jet， which ensured the production of dense spherical W-Cu particles. The final powder had a 90%–95% spheroidization degree， up to 8.1 g/cm3bulk density and a flowability of ～12 s/50 g. The content of impurities in the resulting spherical micropowder did not exceed 0.7 wt.% [O]， 0.02–0.2 wt.% [C] and 0.03-0.05 wt.% [H].

Many attempts have been made to find various relationships for different pa.a.eters and some kinds of constitutive models for studying the behavior of particulate media. All these models are based on concepts of continuous media. Using a numerical method such as discrete element method, one can figure out what is happening through a discontinuous media where soil particles play the main role in introducing the shear strength and deformation cha.a.teristics. The behavior of the media with brea.a.le particles is studied in this paper and compared with that of the assembly with non-brea.a.le particles. In this paper, the hyperbolic elastic model is investigated for the assembly of polygon shaped particles in two different test series. In addition, evolution of different macro pa.a.eters of the assembly such as volume strain, angle of friction, angle of dila.a.cy and elastic modulus is studied during the simulation tests both for non-brea.a.le and brea.a.le soil particles. At the end, a pa.a.etric study is performed on the effect of strength of particle brea.a.e on the assembly behavior.

Elucidating how multiple factors affect biodiversity and plant community assembly is a central issue in ecology,especially in vulnerable ecosystems such as tropical *** studies are more relevant in global warming scenarios that induce the upward displacement of plant species towards reduced habitats and hostile environments in tropical *** study aimed to a.a.yze how altitude affects taxonomic and phylogenetic diversity in plant communities of tropical ***,we tested if(i)increased altitude works as an environmental filtering promoting decreased species richness,decreased phylogenetic diversity,and increased phylogenetic clustering in these tropical mountains;and if(ii)plant communities of high altitude in tropical mountains are also result of recent diversification with plant species recently split shortening phylogenetic distances between closest related *** tested effects of altitude on species richness and phylogenetic metrics using linear mixed-effects *** Halea.a.a presented 114 species,Mount Kilimanjaro presented 231 species and Mount Purace presented 280 *** found an environmental filtering effect with increasing altitude causing phylogenetic clustering,decreased phylogenetic diversity and decreased species *** decreasing phylogenetic distances between closest relatives are congruent with neo-endemics,suggesting recent plant diversification in high altitudes of tropical mountains,possibly driven by geographic isolation and environmental *** of global warming should be monitored in tropical mountains focusing on distribution shifts.
