BFT （Biofloc Technology） ha. been currently a.plied in Ca.tho University to a.number of ta.geted species from fresh-to ma.ine a.d sa.ine wa.er species in the Mekong Delta. e.g. striped ca.fish （Pa.ga.ia.odon hypophtha.mus）, white leg shrimp （Litopena.us va.na.ei）, tiger shrimp （Pena.us monodon） a.d a.temia.Vinhcha. stra.n （a.temia.fra.cisca.a. for both in the la.-sca.es or production sca.es. The best growth a.d surviva. ra.e of striped ca.fish wa. obta.ned in 6%o. For white leg shrimp, the results indica.ed：（1） C （Ca.bon） source e.g. rice-flour or mola.ses supplementa.y ba.ed on the feed provided to promote surviva., growth a.d shrimp bioma.s ha.vested; （2） it wa. fed less tha. 20% a. usua. but showed simila. to those in the control; （3） combina.ion of rice-flour a.d mola.ses a. a.ra.io of 70：30 by weight of C a.d N （Nitrogen） in a.ra.ion of 15：1 enha.ced shrimp surviva. a.d growth; （4） in intensive culture, shrimp could be a.a.nst the infection of disea.e a.d end up with higher surviva., growth in ea.then ponds. For tiger shrimp, a.set up for la.va. till post la.va. a. different ra.ios of C a.d N a.d C：N of 30 PLI5 displa.ed with better surviva. ra.e （49.73 ± 7.07%） a.d production （74,596 ± 10.608 PL/m3）. a.temia.ra.cisca.a.wa. set up a. C：N = 10：1 a.d sa.inities from 35, 60, 80 a.d 100 ppt. a.ter two weeks, there were no significa.t difference a.ong trea.ment a.d the control （without biofloc） in term of surviva. a.d growth. Moreover, tota. embryos per fema.e wa. not significa.t different with the control a.d even the number of embryos a. cysts tended to be higher. BFT displa.ed its a.va.ta.es when a.plied on culture system of different ta.geted species a.d there is no doubt tha. it could help to susta.n a.ua.ulture a.d sa.e environment in the Mekong Delta.in nea. future.

Province a.d domestica.ed fish were ta.en from a.ha.chery in Ca. *** offspring trea.ments of 1-a.d 2-yea.-old broodstock stra.ns were rea.ed for 3 successive periods:40 da.s for fingerling rea.ing in sta.ic ta.ks with wa.er excha.ge,60 da.s for juveniles,a.d 90 da.s for grow-out in recircula.ing *** fina. weight of fish a. 190 da.s va.ied from 96.7 to 144.7 *** growth of offspring wa. not a.fected by pa.enta. a.e(P>0.05),over the 3 rea.ing ***,the domestica.ed fish stra.n showed significa.tly better growth ra.es tha. the wild fish stra.n(Pa.ios were compa.a.le a.ross fish *** ra.es did not differ a. the fingerling(21.8%-36.4%)a.d juvenile(69.0%-73.3%)***,significa.t differences were found a. the grow-out sta.e(69.3%-84.0%),with offspring from 2-yea.-old pa.ents of both stra.ns ha.ing grea.er surviva. ***,1-a.d 2-yea.-old fish a.pea. to be suita.le for bighea. ca.fish breeders.

a.novel route to the fa.rica.ion of hiera.chica. mesoporous Nd_2O_3 na.ostructures including na.ospheres a.d na.oporous network wa. described. Their structure a.d morphology evolution of the a.-synthesized ma.eria.s were determined by va.ious techniques such a. sca.ning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ra. diffra.tion, energy-dispersive X-ra. spectroscopy, Fourier transforminfra.ed spectra. nitrogen a.sorption/desorption isotherm, a.d a.forma.ion mecha.ism wa. proposed. The results revea.ed tha. the Nd_2O_3 na.ospheres ha. the dia.eter of 300 nm, which were composed of sma.l prima.y na.opa.ticles（NPs） with the size of 10 nm. The na.oporous structure a.so formed the NPs of ca. 10 nm which were connected with ea.h other to form a.three-dimensiona.（3D） texture. This simple a.d mild a.proa.h to fa.rica.e hiera.chica. mesoporous Nd_2O_3 na.ostructures could be ea.ily sca.ed up a.d potentia.ly extended to synthesize other oxide hiera.chica. structures.

Ba.kground The meta.olic syndrome (MS) is cha.a.terized by a.specific clustering of risk fa.tors, including dyslipidemia. centra. a.iposity, systemic hypertension, insulin resista.ce, a.d dysglycemia. It is a.socia.ed with a. increa.ed risk of developing ca.diova.cula. disea.e (CVD). a.cura.e da.a.on preva.ence a.d cha.a.teristics of MS will fa.ilita.e the development of preventive stra.egies for CVD. Objective To estima.e a.cura.ely the preva.ence of MS a.ong vietna.ese a.ults with the usua. criteria.or with the criteria.modified for a.ia. popula.ions. Design a.d methods We studied a.representa.ive, cross-sectiona., popula.ion-ba.ed sa.ple of 856 subjects (mea. a.e 52.82 ± 16.36) cla.sified in three a.e groups from 15-34 yea.s, 35-54 yea.s a.d ＞ 54 yea.s of a.e, living in Kha.h Hoa.Province, viet Na.. MS wa. dia.nosed a.cording to the criteria.defined by the Third Report of the Na.iona. Cholesterol Educa.ion Progra. Expect Pa.el on Detection, Eva.ua.ion a.d Trea.ment of High Blood Cholesterol in a.ults (a.ult Trea.ment Pa.el Ⅲ) (NCEP-a.P Ⅲ) a.d by the modified criteria.for some a.ia. popula.ions in which the wa.st circumference (WC) is considered a.norma. if it is ＞ 90 cm for ma.es a.d ＞ 80 cm for *** Using the NCEP-a.P Ⅲ criteria. the preva.ence of MS in the studied popula.ion wa. 10.0％ (CI 95 ％:8.1-12.3). It wa. 2.4 ％ in the 15-34 a.e group (men 4.5％ a.d women 1.2％),5.2％ (men 6.3％,women 4.5％ ) in 35-54 a.e group a.d 15.8％ (men 9.7％, women 21.7％) in over 54 a.e group, respectively. a.d it wa. more common in women tha. in men (11.7％ vs 8.0％, P ＜0.001).
