a.Compa.a.ive Study of Ma.dibula. Fra.tures in Senega.: Children vs. a.ults

Introduction: The commonest ma.illofa.ia. fra.tures involve the ma.dible. a.e ca. be considered a.ong influentia. fa.tors. a.m of the Study: To compa.e ma.dibula. fra.tures between children a.d a.ults from the beginning up to the trea.ment in Senega.. Pa.ients a.d Method: a.three-yea. retrospective study wa. conducted in a.university hospita.. The medica. records of pa.ients a.mitted for ma.illofa.ia. injuries were reviewed. Pa.ient a.d injury-rela.ed va.ia.les including a.e, gender, etiology, a.era.e consulta.ion dela., a.a.omic loca.ion of fra.ture a.d trea.ment were compa.ed up to a.e of 15 a.d beyond tha.. Results: Considering 272 ca.ua.ties, ma.illofa.ia. fra.tures were less frequent a.ong children tha. a.ults (36.7% a.d 59.7%) a.d were ma.nly ma.dibula. (90.1% a.d 91.4%). Ma.e predilection (sex ra.io of 2.4 a.d 4.9) wa. twice (2) a. pronounced from the a.e of 16. The a.era.e consulta.ion dela. wa. two (2) times shorter for children. Roa. tra.fic a.cidents which predomina.ed a.ong children (33.9%) ha. compa.a.le frequency (32.3%) a.though they were outnumbered by a.sa.lt (37.6%) a.ong a.ults. Fra.tures occurred ma.nly on the corpus (90.1% a.d 90.4%), pa.ticula.ly on pa.a.ymphysis (40.1%) up to the a.e of 15, wherea. a.gle fra.tures increa.ed (8.5% to 19.6%) a.d joint da.a.e decrea.ed a.terwa.ds. Intra.ora. orthopedic procedures (91.2% a.d 92.6%) in which ma.dibula. retention splints were more common (37.3%) up to the a.e of 15 then a.ch liga.ures (49%) were then widely fa.ored. Conclusion: Differences rela.ing to the distribution of ca.ses but a.so to the a.a.omic loca.ion on the corpus a.d to the choice of intra.ora. orthopedic procedures within overa.l simila.ities between children a.d a.ults rega.ding the ma.e predilection, the frequency of roa. tra.fic a.cidents, the ma.dibula. injuries, but a.so the school thera.eutic a.titude consisting of fa.oring the orthopedic option.

The purpose of this study is to investiga.e the physicochemica. properties of some loca. va.ieties of onion (a.lium cepa.L.) a.d compa.e them with a. imported va.iety, a.l collected in Ma. 2021. Proteins, reducing suga.s, lipids, a.d polyphenol content were estima.ed a.cording to the a.NOR sta.da.dized methods. The determina.ion of ca.cium, ma.nesium, iron, sodium, pota.sium a.d phosphorus wa. performed by a.omic a.sorption spectrophotometer coupled with a.CCD detector. The results highlighted a. a.era.e a.idity of 0.377% ± 0.002% lower tha. the va.ue of the imported va.iety which is 0.520% ± 0.001%. Loca. va.ieties ha.e a.pH ra.ging from 6.35 ± 0.003 to 6.42 ± 0.004, while the va.iety ha. a.pH of 6.36 ± 0.003. The a.h a.d dry ma.ter contents va.y respectively from 4.788% ± 0.004% to 8.253% ± 0.003% a.d 7.945% ± 0.021% to 11.945% ± 0.007% for the loca. va.ieties. Moreover, the imported one ha. a.h a.d dry ma.ter contents of 5.175% ± 0.007% a.d 10.035% ± 0.021% respectively. The results show tha. the protein, reducing suga. a.d lipid contents in the loca. onion va.ieties va.y respectively from 2.815 ± 0.000 to 15.634 ± 0.001 g·100 g-1;4.691 ± 0.001 to 12.596 ± 0.002 g·100 g-1 a.d 0.006 ± 0.001 to 0.050 ± 0.057 g·100 g-1. Furthermore, the imported va.iety ha. a.protein, reducing suga. a.d lipid content of 5.649 ± 0.002;8.565 ± 0.002 g·100 g-1 a.d 0.011 ± 0.010 g·100 g-1 respectively. The ma.imum levels of tota. polyphenols a.e obta.ned in the imported va.iety, Bella.i a.d Ga.diol, respectively 9.973 ± 0.001, 4.535 ± 0.002, a.d 3.425 ± 0.006 mg Ea./g of dry ma.ter. The loca. va.ieties ha.e a.significa.t ca.orific inta.e of between 35.451 ± 0.001 a.d 112.980 ± 0.003 kca.·100 g-1 compa.ed to the imported one with a. energy va.ue of 56.953 ± 0.001 kca.·100 g-1 of dry ma.ter. Introduction: The HPV va.cine wa. included in the Expa.ded Progra.me on Immunisa.ion in Senega. in 2018. However, va.cina.ion covera.e is still low a.ong ta.geted girls. The a.m of this resea.ch wa. to study the fa.tors a.socia.ed with va.cine upta.e a.ong girls a.ed 9 - 14 yea.s in the La.gue de Ba.ba.ie a.ea.of Sa.nt-Louis, Senega.. Methodology: This wa. a.descriptive a.d a.a.ytica. cross-sectiona. study. The sa.ple size wa. ca.cula.ed using the Schwa.tz formula.a.d distributed proportiona.ly to the size of the popula.ion in the neighborhoods. Da.a.were collected from 2nd to 19th Ja.ua.y 2024 from mothers or gua.dia.s of girls a.ed 9 to 14 using a.onymous questionna.res configured on ta.lets with Survey 123 softwa.e a.d a.a.ysed using R softwa.e. Results: a.tota. of 799 people were interviewed. The a.era.e a.e of the respondents wa. 35.67 yea.s, with a.sta.da.d devia.ion of 7.08 a.d a.ra.ge of 17 a.d 49 yea.s. Reported va.cina.ion covera.e wa. 41.9%. Fa.tors positively correla.ed with va.cina.ion included: a.tenda.ce a. prima.y school or da.ra.(OR = 2.50 [CI: 1.43 - 4.48] a.d OR = 2.05 [CI: 1.09 - 3.94]), informa.ion a.out va.cina.ion (OR = 6.64 [CI: 4.59 - 9.72]), history of cervica. ca.cer screening a.ong mothers or gua.dia.s (OR = 6.64 [CI: 4.59 - 9.72]). Conclusion: Identifying the fa.tors a.socia.ed with HPV va.cina.ion is necessa.y to a.sess a.d improve the va.cina.ion stra.egy in order to improve va.cina.ion covera.e a.ong ta.geted girls.

Da.a.wa. collected between 2nd to 19th Ja.ua.y 2024 using a.onymous questionna.res configured on ta.lets with Survey 123 softwa.e a.d a.a.ysed using R softwa.e. Results: a.tota. of 799 people were interviewed. The a.era.e a.e of the respondents wa. 35.67 yea.s, with a.sta.da.d devia.ion of 7.08 a.d a.ra.ge of 17 a.d 49 yea.s. The informa.ion cha.nels for cervica. ca.cer were the media.(82.8%), hea.th fa.ilities (47.7%) a.d community intermedia.ies (23.3%). The principle of PCNL is the extra.tion through a.nephrostomy cha.nel of kidney stones which a.e defined a. the presence of crysta.line concretions in the kidneys. Objectives: The objective of this work wa. to study the epidemiologica., clinica. a.d pa.a.linica. a.pects of pa.ients with rena. lithia.is trea.ed by PCNL a.d on the other ha.d the different technica. a.pects of PCNL. Ma.eria.s a.d Methods: This wa. a.retrospective descriptive study, conducted in the urology depa.tment of HOGIP, covering the period from Ja.ua.y 2015 to Ja.ua.y 2019. We studied the demogra.hic a.d clinica. a.pects of pa.ients presenting rena. lithia.is;we a.so studied the technica. a.pects a.d trea.ment outcomes. Sta.istica. significa.ce wa. set for α = 0.05. Results: Our series covered 82 PCNLs performed during the study period. The a.era.e a.e wa. 45.95 yea.s, the a.e group [40 - 49 yea.s] wa. more a.fected. Our study involved 44 men a.d 38 women, a.sex ra.io of 1.15. a. the clinic, a.ypica. lumba. pa.n wa. more frequent in 45.83% of ca.es. On URO-CT, the ca.cula.ions were loca.ed more a. the pyelic level (31.2%) a.d lower ca.icea. (27.2%). The size of stones mea.ured between 15 a.d 20 mm in 30.52%. The stone density wa. between 500 a.d 1000 HU in 47.54% of ca.es. Intra.pera.ively, the pa.ients were pla.ed in la.era. decubitus in 41.46% of ca.es. Only one a.cess to the kidney wa. necessa.y in 87.8% of ca.es. The lithocla.t wa. used in 65.85% of ca.es. The overa.l success ra.e (stone free) in our series wa. 96%. The ma.ority of ca.es, 41.44%, dra.na.e were done by na.ura. mea.s (tota.ly tubeless). The a.era.e dura.ion wa. 92 minutes. The complica.ions encountered in our experience concerned 10 ca.es, a.ra.e of 12.19%. Conclusion: Urina.y lithia.is is more a.d more frequent in our regions. The development of Endo-urology offers severa. thera.eutic options. Thus, PCNL occupies a. importa.t pla.e in the ma.a.ement of kidney stones.

This study describes the floristic composition a.d structure of a.woody sta.d in the Senega.ese Sa.el, pa.ing pa.ticula. a.tention to the eda.hic fa.tors of its floristic composition. a.stra.ified inventory considering the different relief units wa. a.opted. Del., Ca.otropis procera.a.t. a.d Boscia.senega.ensis (Pers.). The distribution of this flora.a.d the structure of the ligneous pla.ts a.e linked to the topogra.hy. In the lowla.ds, the flora.is more diversified a.d the ligneous pla.ts rea.h their optimum level of development compa.ed with the higher relief a.ea.. In the lowla.ds, there a.e a.few woody species which, in the pa.t, were indica.ive of better clima.ic conditions. These a.e a.ogeissus leioca.pus (DC.), Commiphora.a.rica.a.(a. The fruit of Morinda.citrifolia.L., commonly known a. noni, ha. a. extensive history of use a. a.food a.d tra.itiona. medicine a.ound the world. a.ding va.ue to Morinda.citrifolia.L. products, pa.ticula.ly the fruit, could be one wa. of building resilience in vulnera.le fa.ming households. The a.m of this study wa. to determine the seconda.y meta.olite a.d minera. composition of noni juice obta.ned by fermenting the fruit of Morinda.citrifolia.L. Fruits were collected in a.gust 2022 from the loca. field in Thiès region, West of Senega.. Extra.tion yields were determined a.d the seconda.y meta.olites were determined using conventiona. a.a.ytica. methods. Ca.cium, ma.nesium, iron, sodium a.d pota.sium were determined by a.omic a.sorption spectrophotometer coupled with a.CCD detector. The results show tha. a. a.era.e fruit ma.s (503.2 ± 110.96 g) consists of 171.44 ± 50.01 g pulp a.d 34.06 ± 10.35 g seeds. The tra.itiona. extra.tion yield of noni juice is 16.46% a.ter three weeks of fermenta.ion. The contents of tota. polyphenols, fla.onoids a.d ta.nins obta.ned in noni a.e 608.97 ± 4.53 mg Ea./100mL, 7.78 ± 0.01 mg EQ/100mL a.d 0.191 ± 0.01 mg EC/100mL respectively. The etha.ol content of noni va.ies from 3.57 to 5.23 mL/100mL during extra.tion. Noni ha. a.high ca.cium content with a.concentra.ion of 383.79 ± 33.23 mg/L. This is followed by a.good concentra.ion of ma.nesium, pota.sium a.d sodium, a. 278.47 ± 26.30, 187.43 ± 10.7 a.d 155.95 ± 28.66 mg/L respectively. Noni a.so ha. a. iron content of 202.15 ± 0.05 mg/L.

The results of the ca.a.ity fa.tor va.y significa.tly, with Ma.ch, a.ril, Ma., a.d sometimes October sta.ding out a. periods of optima. performa.ce, with 16% for Ka.one, 16% for Bokhol, 18% for Ma.icounda.a.d 23% for Sa.a.. Tota. losses from sola. power pla.ts show simila. sea.ona. trends sta.ding out for high loss levels from June to July, rea.hing up to 3.35 kWh/kWp/da. in June. However, using sola. tra.kers a. Sa.a. ha. increa.ed production by up to 25%, demonstra.ing the opera.iona. sta.ility of this innova.ive technology compa.ed with the pla.ts fixed pa.el. Fina.ly, compa.ing these results with interna.iona. studies confirms the outsta.ding efficiency of Senega.ese sola. power pla.ts, other insta.la.ions a.ound the world.

Phytochemica. screening a.d a.sa. of seconda.y meta.olites, crude extra.ts with distilled wa.er, a.ueous metha.ol, a.ueous a.etone a.d a.ueous etha.ol of lea.es a.d seeds of Senna.occidenta.is L. were studied in this work. The a.m wa. to verify the distribution of seconda.y meta.olites a.cording to S. occidenta.is orga.s. Four lea. sa.ples from four different loca.ities (South, Ea.t, West a.d Centra. Senega.) a.d a.mixed sa.ple of seeds were used. Functiona. molecules such a. polyphenols, fla.onoids a.d ta.nins were then a.sessed in the lea.es a.d seeds using va.ious sta.da.d methods. The results show tha. Senna.occidenta.is L. lea. a.d seed sa.ples displa. a. identica. a.d homogeneous profile, rega.dless of loca.ity. They conta.n seconda.y meta.olites a.d the polyphenol content of extra.ts from southern, ea.tern, western a.d centra. lea.es is: 0.620 - 0.539 - 0.811 - 0.573 g Ga./100 g DM;fla.onoids: 0.064 - 0.074 - 0.130 - 0.101 g CE/100 g DM a.d ta.nins: 0.326 - 0.264 - 0.269 - 0.494 g Ta./100 g DM. The effica.y of S. occidenta.is L. infusions in thera.y is thus justified by the presence of these meta.olites, whose biologica. properties a.e well known. It is then possible to explore isola.ion of a.tive principles of Senna.occidenta.is L. lea.es a.d even seeds for producing medicines.
