The Ka.r El-Bona.a.ma.ic–ultra.a.ic intrusion is exposed a.ong the southea.tern border of the Sina. Peninsula.a.d the northernmost segment of the a.a.ia.-Nubia. Shield(a.S).It occurs a. a. elliptica. intrusive body tha. is loca.ed a.ong the ma.or NE–SW trending fra.ture zones tha. preva.l in the Kid meta.orphic *** ultra.a.ic rocks in the complex comprise ultra.a.ic cumula.es of peridotites(dunite,ha.zburgite a.d wehrlite)a.d *** rocks a.e genera.ly unmeta.orphosed a.d ha.e intrusive conta.ts with the country *** chemistry a.d whole-rock chemica. compositions of these ultra.a.ic rocks a.e mostly consistent with those of residua. ma.tle peridotites from refra.tory supra.ubduction tectonic *** on the va.ia.ions of the ma.or elements,the studied ultra.a.ic rocks a.e consistent with those of a.supra.subduction zone ma.tle,a. it seems to ha.e melted a. 1–2 GPa.a.d 1300–1450℃.Linea. va.ia.ions of a.2O3,Ca.O,V a.d Ni with Mg O,coupled with incompa.ible a.d ra.e-ea.th-element depletion a.d minera. compositions,suggest prior events of pa.tia. melting in both wehrlites a.d *** LREE enrichment in the ha.zburgite,a. well a. the development of Cr-rich spinel,is consistent with a.history of melt–peridotite *** ca.cula.ed(Sm/Yb)N va.ia.ions for the studied peridotites indica.e a.genera. increa.e in the a.dition of fluids with a. increa.ing degree of melting from the wehrlite(~13–15 wt%of fluid)in the source,a.ter initia. spinel peridotite melting to the ha.zburgite(~20–25 wt%of fluid)in the sa.e source,which is contra.y to norma. a.yssa. *** estima.ed equilibra.ion tempera.ure ra.ges from 1214 to 1321℃for the studied wehrlites a.d from 1297 to 1374℃for *** Mg-rich na.ure of the a.a.ysed olivines from the studied ultra.a.ic rocks(Fo=81.41 to 91.77)reflect their prima.y composition a.d a.e simila. to olivines in a.a.ka.-type ultra.a.ic *** Fo content of the a.a.yzed olivines decrea.e sli

This study introduces mea.ures to identify resona.t (concentra.ion of energy in a.single or a.few frequencies) or unfa.ora.le ea.thqua.e ground motions. Proba.ilistic mea.ures ba.ed on the entropy ra.e a.d the geometric properties of the power spectra. density function (PSDF) of the ground a.celera.ion a.e developed first. Subsequently, deterministic mea.ures for the frequency content of the ground a.celera.ion a.e a.so developed. These mea.ures a.e then used for identifying resona.ce a.d critica.ity in stocha.tic ea.thqua.e models a.d 110 a.celera.ion records mea.ured a. rock, stiff, medium a.d soft soil sites. The unfa.ora.le ea.thqua.e record for a.given structure is defined a. the record ha.ing a.na.row frequency content a.d domina.t frequency close to the structure funda.enta. na.ura. frequency. a.cordingly, the mea.ures developed in this study ma. provide a.ba.is for selecting records tha. a.e ca.a.le of producing the highest structura. response. Numerica. verifica.ions a.e provided on da.a.e ca.sed to structures by identified resona.t records.

Petrologica. a.d geochemica. studies of Neo-proterozoic meta.a.bros were ca.ried out in the Muiswira. a.ea.South Ea.tern Desert of *** Muiswira. a.ea.comprises of ophiolitic meta.a.broic rocks(MOM),which a.e tectonica.ly thrusted over a.thick pile of meta.olca.ic rocks a.d intruded by syn-a.d post-tectonic gra.itoid *** whole-rock geochemica. va.ia.ions coupled with chemica. compositions of minera. constituents a.e used to a.ta.n the genesis a.d tectonic evolution of the studied *** geothermoba.ometric investiga.tion of the a.a.yzed a.phiboles from(MOM)revea.ed tha. these meta.a.bros underwent regiona. meta.orphism under lower to upper greenschist fa.ies(biotite zone)conditions(a. a.tempera.ure of 450 to 500℃a.d pressure of 1-3 kba.).Geochemica.ly,the meta.a.bros(MOM)show tholeiitic a.finity a.d cxhibiting both a.c-a.d MORB-like cha.a.ters a. evidenced by their clinopyrox-ene compositions a.d the Ti/V ra.ios(11.84-31.65),which considered a. prominent fea.ures of forea.c tectonic *** geochemica. fea.ures suggest a.proba.le fra.tiona.ion of olivine±clinopyroxene±pla.iocla.e a. well a. insignifica.t crusta. *** pa.enta. ma.ma.of the investiga.ed MOM rocks seems to be developed in a.sub-a.c ma.tle wedge setting due to the enrichments of LILE(e.g..Rb,Ba.Sr,Pb)over HFSE(e.g,Ti,Nb,Y,Zr,Hf,Ta..The studied MOM rocks ha.e lower va.ues of Nb/U rela.ive to MORB a.d OIB indica.ing tha. their geochemica. va.ia.ion produced due to the enrichment of a.lithosphere ma.tle by OIB like *** ra.ios of Zn/Fet,La.Sm,Sm/Yb,Th/Yb a.d Nb/Yb indica.e tha. the MOM rocks represent a.fra.ment of ocea.ic crust origina.ed a. a.supra.subduction zone environment a.d their pa.enta. ma.ma.developed by 5-30%pa.tia. melting of a.spinel lherzolite ma.tle ra.her tha. pyroxenite in a. isla.d a.c setting a.d conforma.le with most of the Egyptia. ophiolitic meta.a.bros.
