Optimiza.ion studies of pla.ma.smelting of red mud were ca.ried out. Reduction of the dried red mud fines wa. done in a. extended a.c pla.ma.rea.tor to recover the pig iron. Lime grit a.d low a.h meta.lurgica. （La.） coke were used a. the flux a.d reducta.t, respectively. 2level fa.toria. design wa. used to study the influence of a.l pa.a.eters on the responses. Response surfa.e modeling wa. done with the da.a.obta.ned from sta.istica.ly designed experiments. Meta. recovery a. optimum pa.a.eters wa. found to be 79.52%.

Fluoride is widesprea. in the environment, wa.er, a.r, vegeta.ion a.d Ea.th’s crust which ca. entre ground a.d surfa.e wa.er by na.ura. process. Fluoride in minute qua.tities is essentia. component for huma. hea.th a.d help in norma. minera.iza.ion of bone a.d forma.ion of denta. ena.el. The determina.ion of fluoride in some species wa. performed by using fluoride ion-selective electrode by direct mea.urement a.d sta.da.d a.dition method. The concentra.ion of fluoride ion wa. determined in drinking wa.er (from different pla.e a. Ka.hma.du), toothpa.te, va.ious bra.d of tea.a.d coffees. The ra.ge of fluoride concentra.ion in wa.er sa.ple wa. 0.16 to 0.39 mg/l, tea.a.d coffee sa.ples were 0.011 to 0.084 mg/l a.d its va.ue of toothpa.te wa. 0.026 to 0.75 mg/l. The concentra.ion of fluoride ion obta.n from different sa.ple wa. compa.ed with the legitima.e va.ue given by the world hea.th orga.iza.ion.

Ba.kground & a.ms: The multimoda. a.a.gesia.provides superior pa.n relief a.d reduces opioid consumption a.d its side effects. Ga.a.entin ha. been used successfully in multi-moda. a.a.gesia.in different doses. We designed a.double-blind ra.domized control tria. to find the minima. effective dose of ga.a.entin in multimoda. a.a.gesia.for postopera.ive pa.n following tota. a.domina. hysterectomy. Ma.eria. & Methods: a.ter informed consent, tota. of 87 pa.ients were ra.domly a.signed to a. B & C groups to receive ga.a.entin ora.ly 300 mg, 600 mg, a.d 900 mg respectively one to two hours before surgery. Postopera.ively pa.n wa. ma.a.ed by pa.ient-controlled a.a.gesia.(PCa. using pethidine. Pa.n score, opioid consumption, a.d side effects of ga.a.entin were monitored. Rescue a.a.gesia.wa. given a.d monitored. Results: There wa. no sta.istica.ly significa.t difference a.ong the groups with respect to a.e, weight, height, pethidine consumption, a.d rescue a.a.gesia. Mea. pa.n scores were sta.istica.ly insignifica.t a. ba.eline, 8, 12, a.d 24 hours postopera.ively. Only a. 4 hours, the highest pa.n score (mea.) wa. found in group a. which is sta.istica.ly significa.t. The side effects of ga.a.entin like na.sea. vomiting, somnolence, a.d dizziness were a.so sta.istica.ly insignifica.t. Conclusion: a.single preopera.ive ora. ga.a.entin 300 mg wa. found to be minima. effective dose in multimoda. a.a.gesic regimen for reducing post-opera.ive pa.n a.d a.a.gesic requirement following tota. a.domina. hysterectomy.

In this pa.er, we ha.e considered a.fully developed flow of a.viscous incompressible fluid in a.recta.gula. porous duct sa.ura.ed with the sa.e fluid. The duct is hea.ed from the bottom for forced a.d mixed convection. The Brinkma. model is used to simula.e the momentum tra.sfer in the porous duct. Using the momentum a.d therma. energy equa.ions, the entropy genera.ion ha. been obta.ned due to the hea. tra.sfer, viscous a.d Da.cy dissipa.ions. It is found from the ma.hema.ica. a.a.ysis tha. the entropy genera.ion is double when the viscous a. well a. the Da.cy dissipa.ions terms a.e ta.en in the therma. energy equa.ion in compa.ison when the viscous a. well a. the Da.cy dissipa.ions terms a.e not ta.en in the therma. energy equa.ion. This result clea.ly shows tha. there is no need of ta.ing the viscous a.d Da.cy dissipa.ions terms in the therma. energy equa.ion to obta.n the entropy genera.ion.

Bra.nstem glioma.is ra.e tumour in a.ults a.counting for 1% - 2% of intra.ra.ia. glioma.. In this ca.e study, a.28-yea.-old fema.e dia.nosed with BG, a.d lesions were observed in the pons a.d medulla.region of the bra.n stem. She wa. initia.ly trea.ed with ra.iothera.y (54 Gy in 30 fra.tions for 6 weeks) but no cha.ge in her clinica. condition a.d size of tumor wa. observed. Temozolomide (250 mg/da.ly for 5 da.s) wa. prescribed a. first line chemothera.y. a.ter completion of three cycles of Temozolomide, pa.ient presented with diplopia.a.d MRI showed increa.e in the size of lesions. a.ter unsa.isfa.tory response to ra.ia.ion a.d chemothera.y, the pa.ient wa. trea.ed with Nimotuzuma. thera.y. MRI sca. demonstra.ed the reduction of lesion size a.ter 8 cycles of Nimotuzuma. (200 mg/week). This trea.ment continued for a.other 8 cycles a.d the MRI sca. of pa.ients showed a.significa.t reduction in lesion size. Nimotuzuma. wa. found to be a. effective a.d sa.e trea.ment option for bra.nstem glioma.pa.ient who wa. resista.t to ra.iothera.y a.d chemothera.y.
