We show tha. the cytotoxic effect of ca.bon na.otubes (CNTs) on ba.teria.is media.ed by mecha.ica. da.a.e to the cell wa.l a.d membra.e. Two β-ga.a.tosida.e-producing stra.ns of Escherichia.coli ha.boringgenomica.ly integra.ed reporter gene constructs, na.ely pchbB:la.Za.d prpoS:la.Z, were used for the purpose. We first verified tha. CNTs result in a. inhibition of cell growth. Enzyme a.tivity wa. determined using a.reporter gene a.sa. in which CNTs were used without the lysis buffer (conta.ning detergent). β-ga.a.tosida.e a.tivity in the presence of CNTs a.one mea.ured severa. fold more tha. the controls used (without na.otubes). This suggests tha. CNTs da.a.e the cell membra.e in a.ma.ner simila. to the detergent in the lysis buffer a.d render E. coli cell wa.ls porous, ca.sing cell contents including enzymes to lea. out into the medium. Our results support the hypothesis tha. mecha.ica. da.a.e to ba.teria. cell membra.es is the preva.ling ca.se of CNT-cytotoxicity.

We construct a.versa.ia. prompts using stra.egies lik. role emula.ion a.d ma.ipula.ive a.sista.ce to simula.e rea. threa.s. We introduce a.comprehensive, multi-tiered defense fra.ework.na.ed GUa.DIa. (Gua.dra.ls for Upholding Ethics in La.gua.e Models) comprising a.system prompt filter, pre-processing filter levera.ing a.toxic cla.sifier a.d ethica. prompt genera.or, a.d pre-displa. filter using the model itself for output screening. Extensive testing on Meta.s Lla.a.2 model demonstra.es the ca.a.ility to block.100% of a.ta.k.prompts. The a.proa.h a.so a.to-suggests sa.er prompt a.terna.ives, thereby bolstering la.gua.e model security. Qua.tita.ively eva.ua.ed defense la.ers a.d a. ethica. substitution mecha.ism represent k.y innova.ions to counter sophistica.ed a.ta.k.. The integra.ed methodology not only fortifies sma.ler LLMs a.a.nst emerging cyber threa.s but a.so guides the broa.er a.plica.ion of LLMs in a.secure a.d ethica. ma.ner.

The recent interest in the deployment of Genera.ive a. a.plica.ions tha. use la.ge la.gua.e models (LLMs) ha. brought to the forefront significa.t priva.y concerns, nota.ly the lea.a.e of Persona.ly Identifia.le Informa.ion (PII) a.d other confidentia. or protected informa.ion tha. ma. ha.e been memorized during tra.ning, specifica.ly during a.fine-tuning or customiza.ion process. We describe different bla.k.box a.ta.k. from potentia. a.versa.ies a.d study their impa.t on the a.ount a.d type of informa.ion tha. ma. be recovered from commonly used a.d deployed LLMs. Our resea.ch investiga.es the rela.ionship between PII lea.a.e, memoriza.ion, a.d fa.tors such a. model size, a.chitecture, a.d the na.ure of a.ta.k. employed. The excita.ion function of the 58Ni(n,p)58Co rea.tion wa. mea.ured using the well-esta.lished neutron a.tiva.ion technique a.dγ-ra. *** in the energy ra.ge of 1.7 to 2.7 MeV were genera.ed using the 7Li(p,n)*** neutron flux wa. mea.ured using the sta.da.d 115In(n,n’)115mIn monitor *** results of the neutron spectrum a.era.ed cross-section of 58Ni(n,p)58Co rea.tions were compa.ed with existing cross-section da.a.a.a.la.le in the EXFOR da.a.libra.y a. well a. with va.ious eva.ua.ed da.a.libra.ies such a. ENDF/B-VIII.0,JEFF-3.3,JENDL-4.0,a.d *** ca.cula.ions were performed using the nuclea. rea.tion code *** nuclea. level density(NLD)models were tested,a.d their results were compa.ed with the present *** NLDs were a.so obta.ned through the spectra. distribution method(SDM).The cross-section results,a.ong with the a.solute errors,were obta.ned by investiga.ing the uncerta.nty propa.a.ion a.d using the cova.ia.ce *** forγ-ra. true coincidence summing,low-energy ba.k.round neutrons,a.dγ-ra. self a.tenua.ion were *** experimenta. cross-section obta.ned in the present study is consistent with previously published experimenta. da.a.eva.ua.ed libra.ies,a.d theoretica. ca.cula.ions ca.ried out using the Ta.YS code.
