Tempera.ure Trend on Ma.ka., Sa.di a.a.ia

The ma.n objective of this study is to investiga.e tempera.ure trend a.d distribution over 29 yea.s period (1985 to 2013) in Ma.ka., Sa.di a.a.ia. the holiest city for a.l Muslims. Monthly mea., ma.imum, a.d minimum tempera.ure levels a.d their trends a.e investiga.ed using Regression a.a.ysis a.d Theil-Sen nonpa.a.etric test. a.so, trends in devia.ions from the reference period (1985-2013) a.e a.a.yzed. The results showed tha. the number of hot da.s a.d nights increa.ed a.nua.ly by 1.5966 a.d 1.832, respectively, while the number of cold nights decrea.ed a.nua.ly by 0.4054 nights. Both Regression a.a.ysis a.d Theil-Sen test demonstra.ed positive trends in mea., minimum a.d ma.imum tempera.ure levels. Trends a.e determined for va.ious sea.ons a.d months of the yea.. The a.nua. mea. of da.ly mea., ma.imum a.d minimum tempera.ure increa.ed by 0.0398°C, 0.0552°C, 0.0398°C per yea., respectively. The minimum va.ue of monthly mea. tempera.ure (Tmmea. = 23.98°C) wa. found in Ja.ua.y, wherea. the ma.imum va.ue of the mea. tempera.ure (Tmmea.= 35.95°C) wa. found in July. Ma.imum va.ue of monthly mea. of da.ly ma.imum tempera.ure (Tmma. = 43.88°C) wa. found in June a.d minimum (30.54°C) in Ja.ua.y. The monthly mea. of the da.ly minimum tempera.ure (Tmmin) va.ied between a.minimum of 18.82°C in Ja.ua.y a.d a.ma.imum of 29.59°C in a.gust. From the a.ove a.a.ysis it ca. be concluded tha. Ma.ka. is suffering from a.considera.le wa.ming tempera.ure trend which is confirmed by the Theil-Sen non-pa.a.etric test a.d there is potentia.ly a. increa.ing medica. risk from hea. wa.es tha. will be more intense. This requires specific a.tention towa.d: the energy dema.ds for extra.cooling, wa.er resources, dra.ghts, a.d medica. prepa.edness by the decision ma.ers in order to minimize these risks to residents, pilgrims who ga.her a.nua.ly to perform ha.j ritua.s a.d other visitors.

Ba.kground: The a.socia.ion of right corona.y a.tery (RCa. stenosis in pa.ients undergoing myoca.dia. reva.cula.iza.ion for left ma.n corona.y a.tery (LMCa. stenosis a.fects the prognosis. This study a.med to compa.e immedia.e results of pa.ients with isola.ed LMCa.stenosis a.d those with combined RCa.stenosis. Pa.ients a.d methods: We retrospectively eva.ua.ed 107 consecutive pa.ients with LMCa.disea.e who underwent corona.y a.tery bypa.s gra.ts. The pa.ients were divided into two groups: isola.ed LMCa.stenosis (n = 36) a.d LMCa.stenosis + RCa.stenosis (n = 71). Different va.ia.les (preopera.ive, intra.opera.ive a.d post opera.ive) were compa.ed. Results: Pa.ients with LMCa.stenosis + RCa.stenosis experienced higher preva.ence of dia.etes mellitus (p = 0.024) a.d smoker (p = 0.032). a.so left ventricula. EF wa. reduced (p = 0.004). Myoca.dia. reva.cula.iza.ion wa. more complete in pa.ients with LMCa.stenosis + RCa.stenosis (p = 0.033), but in-hospita. morta.ity ra.e wa. higher (12.6% vs 5.5%) in isola.ed LLMCa.stenosis, but it did not rea.h sta.istica. significa.ce (p = 0.32). Except low output syndrome (LOS) tha. wa. frequent in presence of RCa.stenosis (p = 0.026), no significa.t difference wa. found between groups for other complica.ions. Conclusion: The presence of RCa.stenosis in pa.ients undergoing Ca.G for LMCa.disea.e increa.es 30 da. morta.ity but without significa.t impa.t on overa.l morbidities.

Electric discha.ge ha. been ca.ried out in LPG using DC high volta.e (0.4 - 3 KV) a. ga. pressure in the ra.ge of 1 to 25 torr. The electric a.d spectroscopic cha.a.teristics of the discha.ge were studied a. different discha.ge conditions. Devia.ions from Pa.chen’s la. were observed a. a.result of the cha.ge of the dista.ce between the two the electrodes. Two discha.ge modes, na.ely glow discha.ge a.d spa.k discha.ge modes, ha. been observed in the discha.ge current wa.eforms. The discha.ge current wa.eforms indica.e a.repetitive pulsed beha.iour with frequencies of 5 kHz to 5 MHz depending upon the a.plied volta.e a.d the ga. pressure. The emitted spectra.from the discha.ge a.e a.so studied nea. both the ca.hode a.d the a.ode using different electrode ma.eria.s. Hα line a.d C2 Swa. ba.d system a.e observed, which confirms the conversion of LPG to hydrogen a.d ca.bon clusters.

Oxygen Dema.d (BOD5), Chemica. Oxygen Dema.d (COD), a.d feca. coliforms, signa.ing potentia. risks to the well-being of students a.d sta.f. This situa.ion mirrors a.wider issue in rura. educa.iona. settings, where ina.equa.e sa.ita.ion persists. Intensive wa.tewa.er trea.ment options a.e known for their effectiveness a.a.nst high polluta.t loa.s but a.e resource-intensive in both energy a.d cost. Conversely, extensive trea.ment systems, while requiring more la.d, provide a.susta.na.le a.terna.ive by ha.nessing na.ura. processes for polluta.t remova.. The resea.ch suggests a.hybrid trea.ment a.proa.h could serve the school’s needs, ba.a.cing the robust ca.a.ilities of intensive methods with the ecologica. benefits of extensive systems. Such a.solution would need to be ta.lored to the specific environmenta., fina.cia., a.d logistica. context of the school, ba.ed on comprehensive fea.ibility studies a.d sta.eholder enga.ement. The overa.ching goa. of this study is to offer a. effective a.d susta.na.le solution to the cha.lenges of sa.ita.ion in rura. a.d school settings in the northern region of Senega.. The study explores a.wa.tewa.er trea.ment a.proa.h ba.ed on phytoremedia.ion, with a.pa.ticula. focus on the use of horizonta.ly-flowing reed bed filters. Furthermore, it a.ms to a.a.t a.d optimize these systems for the specific needs of Senega., focusing on wa.tewa.er in school environments. Thus, we constructed a.horizonta.ly-flowing reed bed filter, pla.ted with Typha. a. the Ndiébène Ga.diol school in Senega.. We will investiga.e the efficiency of wa.tewa.er trea.ment by this horizonta.ly-flowing reed bed filter, empha.izing the role of the pla.t used: Typha. The filter is described in deta.l, specifying its dimensions, its composition of flint gra.el, a.d the choice of pla.ts, na.ely Typha. The experimenta. protocol is deta.led, describing the sa.pling a. the entra.ce a.d exit of the filter to eva.ua.e wa.er qua.ity. The pa.a.eters a.a.yzed include Chemica. Oxygen Dema.d (COD), Biochemica. Oxygen Dema.d over 5 da.s (BOD5), suspended solids, a.monium, nitra.es, phospha.es, pH, conductivity, a.d feca. coliforms. The results indica.e a.significa.t improvement in wa.er qua.ity a.ter trea.ment. COD, BOD5, suspended solids, a.d feca. coliforms a.e grea.ly reduced, thus demonstra.ing the effica.y of the Typha.filter. However, nitra.e concentra.ions rema.n rela.ively sta.le, suggesting room for improvement in their elimina.ion. a.perspective of reuse of the trea.ed wa.er is considered, showing tha. the effluents from the pla.ted filter meet Senega.ese a.d interna.iona. sta.da.ds for irriga.ion. The findings suggest tha. these wa.ers could be used for a.va.iety of crops, thereby reducing the pressure on freshwa.er resources. Confronted with the cha.lenge of wa.tewa.er ma.a.ement, pa.ticula.ly in the school environment of Senega., our study set out to a.hieve multiple objectives. Following field surveys, la.ora.ory a.a.yses of wa.tewa.er sa.ples were ca.ried out, revea.ing a.significa.t polluta.t loa.. In the community of Ga.diol, nea. Sa.nt-Louis (Senega.), the school of Ndiebene Ga.diol 1 fa.es significa.t sa.ita.ion cha.lenges. Our study a.med to a.dress this issue by using a.constructed filter composed of two filtering bed cells mea.uring 12 × 8.5 m, preceded by a.septic ta.k. We pa.ticula.ly focused on the influence of Vetiver;a.pla.t chosen for its purifica.ion potentia.. Our a.a.yses showed rema.ka.le efficiency of the filter. Elimina.ion ra.es rea.hed 95% for 5-Da. Biochemica. Oxygen Dema.d (BOD5), 91% for Chemica. Oxygen Dema.d (COD), a.d 92% for SS, fa. exceeding the Senega.ese sta.da.ds set a. 50 mg/L, 200 mg/L, a.d 40 mg/L, respectively. Furthermore, the concentra.ion of feca. coliforms wa. reduced to 176 FCU/100mL, well below the Senega.ese threshold of 2000 FCU/100mL a.d close to the World Hea.th Orga.iza.ion’s (WHO) recommenda.ion of 1000 FCU/100mL. However, despite these promising results, some pa.a.eters, pa.ticula.ly the concentra.ion of certa.n polluta.ts, a.proa.hed the thresholds defined by Europea. legisla.ion. For exa.ple, for Suspended Solids (SS), the post-trea.ment level of 3 mg/L wa. well below the Senega.ese sta.da.d but edged close to the Europea. minimum of 10 mg/L. In conclusion, the Vetiver filter demonstra.ed a.rema.ka.le a.ility to trea. school wa.tewa.er, offering high polluta.t elimina.ion percenta.es. These results suggest significa.t opportunities for the reuse of trea.ed wa.er, potentia.ly in a.ea. such a. irriga.ion, though some a.justments ma. be necessa.y to meet the strictest sta.da.ds such a. those of the Europea. union (EU).

Introduction: Vira. hepa.itis B is a.public hea.th problem in Niger which is cla.sified a. a.high endemicity a.ea.with a.preva.ence ra.ging from 8 to 17% depending on the studies [1] a.d tha. of HBV-rela.ed cirrhosis is a.out 40.26% in 2024. The decision to trea. is ba.ed on a.combina.ion of three pa.a.eters: vira. loa., a.T va.ues a.d the degree of hepa.ic fibrosis [2]. The la.ter is a.sessed by hepa.ic ela.togra.hy (Fibrosca.), which is a.decisive fa.tor in trea.ment. In Niger, until 2024, the decision to trea. or not to trea. a.pa.ient with HBV wa. ba.ed on the determina.ion of vira. loa. B a.d tra.sa.ina.es, a.d no work eva.ua.ing the contribution of this third element, liver ela.ticity, ha. been done, hence the interest of our study. Objective: To study the contribution of Fibrosca. in mea.uring hepa.ic ela.ticity in the ma.a.ement of pa.ients with HBV. Methodology: This wa. a.prospective descriptive study conducted from Ja.ua.y 05 to November 30, i.e. a.period of 11 months, on clinica.ly a.ymptoma.ic HBsa.-positive pa.ients who ha. undergone FibroSca. liver ela.ticity mea.urement. The exa.ina.ion wa. ca.ried out by a.hepa.oga.troenterologist who ha. received tra.ning in the Fibrosca.. The media. of ten mea.ures of liver ela.ticity a. the sa.e point with a. IQR of less tha. 30% wa. considered the va.id mea.ure a.d no or minima. fibrosis wa. defined a. a.va.ue ˂7 Kpa. modera.e fibrosis a. a.va.ue between 7 a.d 10 kpa. severe fibrosis a. a.va.ue grea.er tha. 10 Kpa. a.d the existence of cirrhosis a. a.va.ue grea.er tha. 14 Kpa.were a.a.yzed using SPSS version 20 softwa.e. Results: Out of 398 pa.ients monitored for HBV, 60 ca.es met the inclusion criteria. i.e., a.frequency of 15.07%. The mea. a.e of the pa.ients wa. 35.63 yea.s, with extremes of 18 a.d 70 yea.s. They were predomina.tly ma.e, with a.sex ra.io of 3.2. Ma.ried pa.ients a.counted for 61.67% (n = 37). Ja.ndice wa. a.sent in 91.67% (n = 55). The beha.ior of bea.s with va.ia.le stiffness subjected to the a.tion of va.ia.le loa.ings (impulse or ha.monic) is a.a.yzed in this pa.er using the successive a.proxima.ion method. This successive a.proxima.ion method is a.technique for numerica. integra.ion of pa.tia. differentia. equa.ions involving both the spa.e a.d time, with well-known initia. conditions on time a.d bounda.y conditions on the spa.e. This technique, a.though ha.ing been a.plied to bea.s with consta.t stiffness, is new for the ca.e of bea.s with va.ia.le stiffness, a.d it a.ms to use a.qua.ra.ic pa.a.ola.(in time) to a.proxima.e the solutions of the differentia. equa.ions of dyna.ics. The spa.ia. pa.t is studied using the successive a.proxima.ion method of the pa.tia. differentia. equa.ions obta.ned, in order to tra.sform them into a.system of time-dependent ordina.y differentia. equa.ions. Thus, the integra.ion a.gorithm using this technique is esta.lished a.d a.plied to exa.ples of bea.s with va.ia.le stiffness, under va.ia.le loa.ing, a.d with the different ca.es of supports chosen in the litera.ure. We ha.e thus ca.cula.ed the ca.es of bea.s with consta.t or va.ia.le rigidity with a.ticula.ed or embedded supports, subjected to the a.tion of a. insta.ta.eous impulse a.d ha.monic loa.s distributed over its entire length. In order to justify the robustness of the successive a.proxima.ion method considered in this work, a. exa.ple of a. a.ticula.ed bea. with consta.t stiffness subjected to a.distributed ha.monic loa. wa. ca.cula.ed a.a.ytica.ly, a.d the results obta.ned compa.ed to those found numerica.ly for va.ious steps (spa.ia. h a.d tempora. τ ¯ ) of ca.culus, a.d the difference between the va.ues obta.ned by the two methods wa. sma.l. For exa.ple for ( h=1/8 , τ ¯ =1/ 64 ), the difference between these va.ues is 17%.

Redo ca.dia. surgery increa.es?morta.ity a.d morbidity. The a.m of this study wa. to determine if a.rotinin wa. superior to tra.exa.ic a.id concerning control bleeding loss a.ter redo va.ve surgery. a.retrospective study wa. conducted from Ja.ua.y 1994 until December 2014. 221 pa.ients underwent redo ca.dia. va.ve surgery a.d sepa.a.ed into two groups: a.rotinin group (n?=?85) a.d tra.exa.ic a.id group (n?=?136). Univa.ia.e tests were a.plied for da.a.a.a.ysis. a.tota. of 221 pa.ients were enrolled in this study. This cohort wa. sepa.a.ed into two groups: a.rotinin group (n?=?85) a.d tra.exa.ic a.id group (n?=?136). Euroscore in tra.exa.ic a.id group wa. higher: 5.96 ± 3.04 vs.?5.17 ± 2.83 in a.rotinin group?(p?=?0.055). There wa. no sta.istica. difference in postopera.ive morta.ity between the two groups (p?= 0.153). No sta.istica. differences were reported concerning: tota. blood loss (p?= 0.51), red blood cells tra.sfusion (p?= 0.215), reexplora.ion for bleeding (p?= 0.537) a.d postopera.ive rena. fa.lure (p?= 0.79). There were sta.istica. differences concerning mecha.ica. ventila.ion time, which is longer in tra.exa.ic a.id group (p?= 0.008) a.d the use of inotropic drug support, which is more frequent in the tra.exa.ic a.id group (p?= 0.001). Our results demonstra.ed tha. tra.exa.ic a.id a.d a.rotinin reduce tra.sfusion requirement a.d blood loss. Due to fina.cia. rea.on, we chose tra.exa.ic a.id in preventing blood loss in redo va.ve surgery.
