Introduction: The prima.y loca.iza.ion of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.of the muscle is ra.e. Only the biopsy a.lows the certa.nty dia.nosis. The a.m wa. to report a.first ca.e of sma.l cell lymphoma.of the ga.trocnemius in Ma.i a.d to do a.review of the litera.ure. Clinica. Observa.ion: It wa. a.out a.34-yea.-old woma. who consulted 3 months a.ter the onset of symptoms for swelling a.d pa.n in the left ca.f. On clinica. exa.ina.ion there wa. a.ha.d, pa.nful a.d wa.m ma.s in the left ca.f, with pa.esthesia. in the tibia. nerve territory a.socia.ed with pa.tia. functiona. impotence of the leg. The ultra.ound revea.ed a.hyper echogenic a.d heterogeneous non-va.cula.ized ma.s of the left ga.trocnemius muscle mea.uring 65 × 45 × 40 mm non-va.cula.ized on color Doppler a.d pulsed in fa.or of myositis. Ma.netic resona.ce ima.ing (MRI) concluded in a.well-limited heterogeneous cystic ma.s in the left ga.trocnemius muscle respecting the bone of benign a.pea.a.ce: remodeled Ba.er’s cyst? Considering the ra.ioclinica. unconformity, thora.o-a.domina. CT wa. performed a.d revea.ed pulmona.y meta.ta.is. The biopsy ca.ried out concluded with a.sma.l cell lymphoma.of the ga.trocnemia. muscle. Ma.gina. resection wa. performed a.socia.ed with a.juva.t chemothera.y. The a.va.cement a. 9 months wa. sa.isfa.tory.

The concern of the present work is the convective drying of empty cocoa.shells in a. indirect sola. dryer. Some drying experiments, using one sa.ple, were ca.ried out. During the experiments, the sa.ple is introduced in the drying cha.ber. Then a. stea.y time interva.s, the sa.ple is withdra.n from the drying cha.ber, for a.ra.id weighing. a.ter ea.h weighing, the sa.ple is reintroduced in the dryer. a. ea.h time interva., the a.bient tempera.ure of the drying cha.ber a.d its rela.ive humidity γ a.e mea.ured by a.thermo-hygrometer. From the experimenta. da.a. a.theoretica. determina.ion of the moisture eva.ora.ed from the product wa. performed a.d a.good a.reement wa. found between the theoretica. a.d experimenta. va.ues, confirmed by the va.ue of the RMSE. Those ca.cula.ions used the consta.ts in the Nusselt number found in litera.ure. Then those consta.ts were eva.ua.ed a.a.n, to get new va.ues more suita.le with the experimenta. da.a. The dimensionless numbers of Nusselt, Gra.hof a.d Pra.dtl were ca.cula.ed. Tha. a.lowed the ca.cula.ion of the a.era.e va.ue of the Nusselt number. The a.era.e convective hea. tra.sfer coefficient wa. determined.

The explosive technologica. improvement of photovolta.c systems a. well a. the necessity of popula.ions to come to less expensive energy sources, tha. ha.e led to a. implosion a. the level of sola. pa.el ma.ufa.turers. This ca.ses a.la.ge flow of these equipments to developing countries where the need is high, without a.y qua.ity control. Tha. conducted a. experimenta. investiga.ion on the performa.ce cha.a.teristics of a.250 wp monocrysta.line silicon photovolta.c module in other to check the verifica.ion a.d qua.ity control. Most of these PV pa.els which often ha.e missing informa.ions a.e ma.ufa.tured a.d tested in pla.es tha. a.e ina.equa.e for our environmenta. a.d meteorologica. conditions. a.so, their influences on the sta.ility of interna. pa.a.eters were eva.ua.ed in order to optimize their performa.ce. The results obta.ned a. ma.imum illumina.ion (1000 w/m2) confirmed those produced by the ma.ufa.turer. The a.a.ysis of these cha.a.teristics showed tha. the illumina.ion a.d the tempera.ure (meteorologica. fa.tors) influenced a. most the sta.ility of the interna. cha.a.teristics of the module in the sense tha. the ma.imum power increa.ed very ra.idly beyond 750 w/m2 but a.degra.a.ion of performa.ce wa. a.centua.ed for a.tempera.ure of the sola. cells exceeding 50°C. The degra.a.ion coefficients were eva.ua.ed a. -0.0864 V/°C for the volta.e a.d a. -1.6248 w/°C for the power. The 10° inclina.ion a.gle of the sola. pa.el proved to be idea. for optimizing overa.l efficiency in pra.tica. situa.ions.

Introduction: Uterine tumors a.e a.l a.norma. cell prolifera.ions developed a. the expense of one or more tissue types, which ma. be loca.ed in a.y uterine segment a.d ha.e a.a.omopa.hologica. cha.a.teristics of benignity or ma.igna.cy. The a.m of this study wa. to report on the ma.a.ement of uterine tumors in the genera. surgery depa.tment of Igna.e Deen Hospita. in Cona.ry. Methodology: This wa. a.retrospective study la.ting five (5) yea.s, from Ja.ua.y 1, 2011 to December 31, 2015: a.l complete records of pa.ients with the dia.nosis of a.uterine tumor ma.a.ed in the depa.tment were included. Our results a.e presented in ta.les a.d figures. Results: 3200 pa.ients underwent surgery. a.ong them, 82 ca.es concerned uterine tumors, i.e. 2% of the depa.tment’s overa.l a.tivity. The a.era.e a.e of our pa.ients wa. 38.5 yea.s, with extremes of 18 a.d 59 yea.s. The a.e group most a.fected wa. 41 - 50, with a.ra.e of 39.02%. Housewives a.d ma.ried civil serva.ts were the socio-professiona. stra.a.most a.fected, with a.predomina.ce of ma.ried women. We estima.ed a. increa.ing proportion of pa.ients a.mitted to the depa.tment during the study period, proving tha. our study site pla.s a.significa.t role in the ma.a.ement of uterine tumors. Conclusion: The ma.a.ement of uterine tumors is a.ma.or public hea.th problem. Informa.ion, communica.ion a.d educa.ion of a.l socio-professiona. groups seem necessa.y.

Introduction: The a.m of this study wa. to report the indica.ions a.d eva.ua.e the results of vulvectomy in the genera. surgery depa.tment of Igna.e Deen Hospita., CHU Cona.ry. Ma.eria.s a.d Methods: This wa. a.retrospective descriptive study, conducted over a.period of five (05) yea.s from Ja.ua.y 1, 2018 to December 31, 2022, in the genera. surgery depa.tment of Igna.e Deen Hospita., CHU Cona.ry. We included in our study a.l pa.ient records in whom vulvectomy wa. performed. Results: We recorded 15 ca.es of vulvectomy out of 453 perinea. surgeries, i.e. 3.31%, with a.mea. a.e of 43.56 yea.s a.d extremes of 35 a.d 69 yea.s. Vulva. ca.cer wa. the most common dia.nosis (46.67%), followed by Buschke-Lowenstein (33.33%) a.d a.a. ca.a. ca.cer extending to the vulva.(20%). Six pa.ients ha. undergone biopsy (40%). Vulvectomy with lymph node dissection wa. performed in only 9 pa.ients (60%), a.d a.l surgica. specimens were sent to a.a.omica. pa.hology (100%). Conclusion: Vulvectomy is a.surgica. technique most often indica.ed for the trea.ment of vulva. ca.cer.

Introduction: Splenectomy is the surgica. remova. of the spleen. It ca. be performed during va.ious pa.hologies, ra.ging from a.domina. tra.ma.to hemoglobinopa.hies. The progress ma.e in the knowledge of the immune functions of the spleen a.d the fea. of post-splenectomy infectious complica.ions ha.e fa.ored the development of surgica. or non-surgica. splenic preserva.ion techniques ca.ling into question the dogma.of splenectomy. The a.m of this study wa. to determine the indica.ions for splenectomy. Methodology: This wa. a.retrospective, descriptive study la.ting 5 yea.s in the genera. surgery depa.tment of the Igna.e Deen Na.iona. Hospita.. a.l files of splenectomized pa.ients were included, our va.ia.les were clinica., thera.eutic a.d progressive. Results: We collected 42 ca.es of splenectomies out of the 2478 surgica. procedures performed, representing 1.7% of the depa.tment’s surgica. a.tivities. The a.era.e a.e wa. 44 yea.s. The a.e group of 41 to 50 yea.s wa. the most represented, i.e. 26% (n = 11) of ca.es. Sex ra.io = 1. a.domina. pa.n wa. the rea.on for consulta.ion in pa.ients, i.e. 100% (n = 42) of ca.es. The a.tecedents were domina.ed by recurrent ma.a.ia.with 52.3% (n = 22) of ca.es, then recurrent a.emia.in 21% (n = 9), a.d 16.7% (n = 7) ha. sickle cell disea.e. Splenomega.y wa. found in 31 pa.ients, or 73.6%. Ultra.ound wa. performed in a.l pa.ients. The indica.ions for splenectomy were: isola.ed splenomega.y with risk of rupture (38%, n = 16), hypersplenism (26%, n = 11) a.d tra.ma.to the spleen (19.04%, n = 8). Tota. splenectomy wa. performed in a.l ca.es. The surgica. consequences were fa.ora.le in 85.7%, (n = 36) with morbidity of 14% (n = 6) a.d morta.ity of 9.52% (n = 4). The a.era.e length of hospita.iza.ion wa. 10.4 da.s with extremes of 1 a.d 22 da.s. Conclusion: Splenectomy constitutes a.rela.ively common surgica. procedure in our context. Introduction: The a.m of this study wa. to contribute to improving the qua.ity of GEUR ma.a.ement in the genera. surgery depa.tment a.d in the ma.ernity wa.d of the Igna.e Deen na.iona. hospita., Cona.ry University Hospita.. Methodology: This wa. a.retrospective, descriptive study la.ting two yea.s (Ja.ua.y 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022), ca.ried out in the genera. surgery a.d gyneco-obstetrics depa.tments of the Igna.e Deen na.iona. hospita., Cona.ry University Hospita.. We included a.l pa.ients with a.ruptured ectopic pregna.cy who received surgica. trea.ment during the study period. Results: We collected 13,524 ca.es of surgica. interventions in the two services, a.ong them, we recorded 89 ca.es or 0.66% GEUR. The a.era.e a.e of the pa.ients wa. 24.26 yea.s. Brides were the most represented with 80.96% of ca.es. Women pra.ticing a.libera. profession were 51.69% (n = 46) a.d housewives 26.97% (n = 24). Clinica.ly, a.enorrhea.wa. noted in a.l pa.ients, i.e. 100%, a.domina.-pelvic pa.n in 95.2% (n = 85) of ca.es, metrorrha.ia.in 94.08% (n = 84), a.domina.-pelvic sensitivity in 97.44% (n = 87) of ca.es a.d a.emia.in 85.39% of ca.es. The GEUR wa. a.pulla.y in 69.66% (n = 62) ca.es. Sa.pingectomy wa. performed in 90.72% (n = 81). The surgica. outcomes were sa.isfa.tory in 98.87% (n = 88) of ca.es. We recorded one ca.e of surgica. site infection. We ha.e not recorded a.y dea.hs. The a.era.e length of hospita.iza.ion wa. 4 da.s. Conclusion: GEUR is rela.ively high in our context. a.good understa.ding of the prognostic fa.tors of GEUR, a.a.eness a.d fa.ily pla.ning could reduce GEUR.

The purpose of this study is to investiga.e the physicochemica. properties of some loca. va.ieties of onion (a.lium cepa.L.) a.d compa.e them with a. imported va.iety, a.l collected in Ma. 2021. Proteins, reducing suga.s, lipids, a.d polyphenol content were estima.ed a.cording to the a.NOR sta.da.dized methods. The determina.ion of ca.cium, ma.nesium, iron, sodium, pota.sium a.d phosphorus wa. performed by a.omic a.sorption spectrophotometer coupled with a.CCD detector. The results highlighted a. a.era.e a.idity of 0.377% ± 0.002% lower tha. the va.ue of the imported va.iety which is 0.520% ± 0.001%. Loca. va.ieties ha.e a.pH ra.ging from 6.35 ± 0.003 to 6.42 ± 0.004, while the va.iety ha. a.pH of 6.36 ± 0.003. The a.h a.d dry ma.ter contents va.y respectively from 4.788% ± 0.004% to 8.253% ± 0.003% a.d 7.945% ± 0.021% to 11.945% ± 0.007% for the loca. va.ieties. Moreover, the imported one ha. a.h a.d dry ma.ter contents of 5.175% ± 0.007% a.d 10.035% ± 0.021% respectively. The results show tha. the protein, reducing suga. a.d lipid contents in the loca. onion va.ieties va.y respectively from 2.815 ± 0.000 to 15.634 ± 0.001 g·100 g-1;4.691 ± 0.001 to 12.596 ± 0.002 g·100 g-1 a.d 0.006 ± 0.001 to 0.050 ± 0.057 g·100 g-1. Furthermore, the imported va.iety ha. a.protein, reducing suga. a.d lipid content of 5.649 ± 0.002;8.565 ± 0.002 g·100 g-1 a.d 0.011 ± 0.010 g·100 g-1 respectively. The ma.imum levels of tota. polyphenols a.e obta.ned in the imported va.iety, Bella.i a.d Ga.diol, respectively 9.973 ± 0.001, 4.535 ± 0.002, a.d 3.425 ± 0.006 mg Ea./g of dry ma.ter. The loca. va.ieties ha.e a.significa.t ca.orific inta.e of between 35.451 ± 0.001 a.d 112.980 ± 0.003 kca.·100 g-1 compa.ed to the imported one with a. energy va.ue of 56.953 ± 0.001 kca.·100 g-1 of dry ma.ter. The fruit of Morinda.citrifolia.L., commonly known a. noni, ha. a. extensive history of use a. a.food a.d tra.itiona. medicine a.ound the world. a.ding va.ue to Morinda.citrifolia.L. products, pa.ticula.ly the fruit, could be one wa. of building resilience in vulnera.le fa.ming households. The a.m of this study wa. to determine the seconda.y meta.olite a.d minera. composition of noni juice obta.ned by fermenting the fruit of Morinda.citrifolia.L. Fruits were collected in a.gust 2022 from the loca. field in Thiès region, West of Senega.. Extra.tion yields were determined a.d the seconda.y meta.olites were determined using conventiona. a.a.ytica. methods. Ca.cium, ma.nesium, iron, sodium a.d pota.sium were determined by a.omic a.sorption spectrophotometer coupled with a.CCD detector. The results show tha. a. a.era.e fruit ma.s (503.2 ± 110.96 g) consists of 171.44 ± 50.01 g pulp a.d 34.06 ± 10.35 g seeds. The tra.itiona. extra.tion yield of noni juice is 16.46% a.ter three weeks of fermenta.ion. The contents of tota. polyphenols, fla.onoids a.d ta.nins obta.ned in noni a.e 608.97 ± 4.53 mg Ea./100mL, 7.78 ± 0.01 mg EQ/100mL a.d 0.191 ± 0.01 mg EC/100mL respectively. The etha.ol content of noni va.ies from 3.57 to 5.23 mL/100mL during extra.tion. Noni ha. a.high ca.cium content with a.concentra.ion of 383.79 ± 33.23 mg/L. This is followed by a.good concentra.ion of ma.nesium, pota.sium a.d sodium, a. 278.47 ± 26.30, 187.43 ± 10.7 a.d 155.95 ± 28.66 mg/L respectively. Noni a.so ha. a. iron content of 202.15 ± 0.05 mg/L.

Introduction: Thyroidectomy is a.surgica. procedure to remove a.l or pa.t of the thyroid gla.d. The a.m of this study wa. to report the results of thyroidectomy in the genera. surgery depa.tment of the Hôpita. na.iona. Igna.e Deen/CHU de Cona.ry. Methodology: This wa. a.retrospective study, of seven (07) yea.s (Ja.ua.y 1, 2016 - a.gust 31, 2023), in the Genera. Surgery Depa.tment of the Igna.e Deen Na.iona. Hospita.-CHU in Cona.ry. We included a.l records of pa.ients a.mitted a.d opera.ed on for thyroidectomy a.d with up-to-da.e medica. records. The va.ia.les were epidemiologica., clinica. a.d thera.eutic. Results: During the study period, we recorded 3221 ca.es of surgery, including 40 thyroidectomies (1.24% of ca.es). The a.era.e a.e wa. 42.4 yea.s. Women were the most represented, with a.sex ra.io of 0.16. The rea.on for consulta.ion wa. a.terior cervica. swelling in 86% (n = 25) of ca.es, followed by signs of cervica. compression 21% (n = 6) a.d signs of thyrotoxicosis 31% (n = 9). Indica.ions for thyroidectomy were domina.ed by homogeneous goitres in 69% (n = 20) of ca.es, ba.edow’s disea.e in 20.7% (n = 6) a.d nodula. goitres in 6.9% (n = 2) of ca.es. The surgica. procedures were lobo-isthmectomies in 72.4% (n = 21), subtota. thyroidectomies 13.8% (n = 4), tota. thyroidectomies 10.3% (n = 3). Postopera.ive follow-up wa. stra.ghtforwa.d in 69% (n = 20). Complica.ions included ha.morrha.e in 20.7% (n = 6) a.d recurrence in 6.9% (n = 2). The a.era.e hospita. sta. wa. 7 da.s. Conclusion: Thyroidectomy is a.rela.ively frequent surgica. procedure in our depa.tment. Indica.ions a.e domina.ed by homogeneous goitres. Morbidity is rela.ed to hemorrha.e. Rigorous hemosta.is could improve the qua.ity of thyroidectomy.
