The effect of deep cryogenic trea.ment on the mecha.ica. properties of 80CrMo 12 5 tool steel wa. investiga.ed. Moreover, the effects of sta.iliza.ion （holding a. room tempera.ure for some periods before deep cryogenic trea.ment） a.d tempering before deep cryogenic trea.ment were studied. The results show tha. deep cryogenic trea.ment ca. elimina.e the reta.ned a.stenite, ma.ing a.better ca.bide distribu- tion a.d a.higher ca.bide a.ount. a. a.result, a.rema.ka.le improvement in wea. resista.ce of cryogenica.ly trea.ed specimens is observed. Moreover, the ultima.e tensile strength increa.es, a.d the toughness of the sa.ple decrea.es. It is a.so found tha. both sta.iliza.ion a.d tem- pering before deep cryogenic trea.ment decrea.e the wea. resista.ce, ha.dness, a.d ca.bides homogeneity compa.ed to the deep cryogeni- ca.ly trea.ed sa.ples. It is concluded tha. deep cryogenic trea.ment should be performed without a.y dela. on sa.ples a.ter quenching to rea.h the highest wea. resista.ce a.d ha.dness.

In this study, the a.lotropic pha.e tra.sition a.d its effect on the ma.netic beha.ior of Fe Co–7 wt%V a.loy were investiga.ed. It wa. found tha. c pha.e is observed in the microstructure in the a.-ca.t condition, a.d it diminishes a.ter severe cold rolling（90% reduction）. a.ter a.nea.ing a. tempera.ures higher tha. 500 up to 750 ℃, the c pha.e is observed in the structure, a.a.n. But, this pha.e is disa.pea.ed by a.nea.ing a. tempera.ures a.ove 750 ℃ due to the forma.ion of va.a.ium-rich precipita.es. Thermoca.c softwa.e wa. used in order to elucida.e the influence of va.a.ium percent on the sta.ility of c pha.e in Fe–Co a.loys. a.so, ma.netic studies showed tha. the sa.ura.ion induction is reduced by a.nea.ing a. tempera.ures from 500 up to 750 ℃, which is rela.ed to the forma.ion of residua. non-ma.netic γ pha.e.

Gra.n refining process pla.s a.significa.t role in preventing columna. a.d coa.se gra.ns a.d it encoura.es fine gra.n forma.ion. a.though a.-Ti-B ma.ter a.loys use widely a. a.uminium gra.n refiners, there a.e severa. problems in their a.plica.ions. So, this kind of ma.ter a.loys use less tha. la.t. Beca.se of grea. properties of a.-Ti-C refiners, they ca. be considered a. suita.le ca.dida.es for use instea. of a.-Ti-B ma.ter a.loys. In recent yea.s, a.-Ti-C refiners ha.e a.tra.ted huge a.tention a.ong resea.chers. In this pa.er, a.-3Ti-1C ma.ter a.loy is prepa.ed with a.melting rea.tion method. This method involves a.ding gra.hite powder a.d fine tita.ium pa.ticles into superhea.ed pure a.uminium. Then microstructure of this ma.ter a.loy is studied by sca.ning electron microscope (SEM) a.d its pha.es a.e distinguished by energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). In the next pa.t, 200 ppm of a.-3Ti-1C ma.ter a.loy is a.ded to pure a.uminium a.d its refining efficiency is compa.ed with the condition in which TiC powders a.e a.ded to a.uminium melt directly. It is found tha. the fa.ing time for both a.-3Ti-1C a.d TiC powder is a.out 15 minutes a.d in overa.l, gra.n refining efficiency of a.-3Ti-1C is more tha. TiC powders in 60 minutes.
