Colonos.opic biops.es.were obta.ned from three s.tes.(hepa.ic a.d s.lenic flexures.a.d rectos.gmoid region). Ea.h biops. wa. divided into two pa.ts. a.fres. pa.t wa. incuba.ed on s.ecia. cultures.for ba.teria. growth. The other pa.t wa. us.d for the prepa.a.ion of his.ologic tis.ue s.ctions.tha. were exa.ined for the pres.nce of ba.teria.with the help of Giems.0}***: Culture of tis.ue biops.es.revea.ed ba.teria. growth in 18 out of 20 pa.ients.with lymphocytic colitis.mos.ly Es.herichia.coli(14/18), which wa. found in a.l rectos.gmoid s.ecimens.(14/14), but only in 8/14 a.d 6/14 of s.lenic a.d hepa.ic flexure s.ecimens.res.ectively. In two of thes. ca.es. E coliwa. a.s.cia.ed with proteus. Proteus.wa. found only in one ca.e, Klebs.ella.in two ca.es. a.d s.a.hylococcus.a.reus.in one ca.e. The trea.ment pla. included tota.(194 ca.es. or s.gmenta.(36 ca.es. ma.illa.y Le fort os.eotomy with premola. extra.tion in pre-s.rgica. orthodontic by one s.ep, a.d s.rgica.ly a.s.s.ed ra.id ma.illa.y expa.s.on(s.0}ME) combined with conventiona. orthogna.hic s.rgery(9 ca.es. by two s.eps. Clinica. res.lts.were eva.ua.ed by medica. photogra.hy, ca.t models. occlus.on a.d cepha.ometric ra.iogra.hic exa.ina.ion. Res.lts.Outcomes.a.d feedba.k informa.ion from pa.ients.s.owed tha. a.propria.e s.lection of releva.t moda.ities.could a.quire a.more ha.monious.profile look, with s.gnifica.t improvement of the ma.illa.y a.ch-width a.d interma.illa.y occlus.on congruity.
