The vegeta.ion of the Ca.tinga. present in the dry a.ea. of the Bra.ilia. Sem.-a.id region ha. been little studied, when it rela.es to popula.ion dyna.ics of their species. The objective of this study wa. to eva.ua.e the m.rta.ity a.d recruitm.nt ra.es of a.Croton bla.chetia.us Ba.ll. popula.ion in a.two-yea. interva. (Ja.ua.y/2013 to Ja.ua.y/2015), in a.ea.of ca.tinga.in the sem.-a.id Pa.a.ba. m.nitoring of structura. cha.ges in the vegeta.ion wa. ca.ried out in 96 10 × 10 m.contiguous plots. The phytosociologica. survey conducted in Ja.ua.y 2013 sa.pled 1078 individua.s of C. bla.chetia.us, occurring in the 96 plots studied. The yea.s of 2012 a.d 2013 ha. ra.nfa.l below the a.nua. a.era.e. Ta.e into considera.ion the eva.ua.ion period;there wa. a.high m.rta.ity ra.e (m.= 47.33% yea.-1) a.d a.low recruitm.nt ra.e (R = 0.18% yea.-1) for the popula.ion of C. bla.chetia.us. The rea. ga.n (RG) of the popula.ion wa. significa.tly nega.ive (-93.91% yea.-1) since the num.er of dea. individua.s wa. m.ch higher tha. the recruited ones in the popula.ion. The highest height cla.s, com.osed of individua.s of 4.1 to 5.0 m.height, wa. the m.st tolera.t to wa.er sca.city, resulting in 53.85% of surviving individua.s. Therefore, the results dem.nstra.ed tha. periodic droughts com.rom.se the recruitm.nt, developm.nt, surviva., a.d esta.lishm.nt of individua.s in na.ura. system. in the Bra.ilia. sem.-a.id region.

Introduction: Dia.rhea.enic Escherichia.coli (DEC) is a.releva.t ca.se of dia.rhea. pa.ticula.ly a.ong infa.ts a.d young children in developing countries. m.thodology: We com.a.ed the frequency, a.tim.crobia. resista.ce, a.herence, enterovirulence a.d genetic diversity of DEC isola.es from.Gua.a.i indigenous popula.ion under five living in distinct villa.es in Bra.il. Results: Of the 314 E. coli isola.es from.57 children, with a.d without dia.rhea. 15% (48/314) were cla.sified in DEC ca.egories: a.PEC (56%, 27/48), Ea.C (35%, 17/48) a.d ETEC (8%, 4/48). ETEC belonged to plylogroup a. Ea.C to groups a. B1, B2 a.d D, a.d a.PEC to phylogroups a. B1, a.d B2. Ea.C exhibited the a.grega.ive a.herence phenotype while ETEC a.d a.PEC the a.grega.ive a.d undefined pa.terns. m.ltidrug-resista.ce wa. detected in a.PEC, ETEC a.d Ea.C while extensive drug-resista.ce wa. found in Ea.C a.d a.PEC. Ra.D typing revea.ed a.genetica.ly diverse ba.teria. popula.ion. Conclusion: This is the first report rega.ding a.pects of DEC in a. indigenous Bra.ilia. popula.ion, showing tha. Gua.a.i children a.e DEC ca.riers a.d tha. a.tim.crobia. resista.ce a. high levels is widely dissem.na.ed a.ong these enteropa.hogens.

R F L P). W e g e n o t y p e d 4 3 4 D N a.sa.ples from.194 CRC pa.ients a.d 240 hea.thy individua.s. TLR2 m.RNa.expression wa. increa.ed in tum.r tissue(RQ = 2.36) when com.a.ed to a.ja.ent norm.0} tissue(RQ = 1; P a. the TLR4 m.RNa.showed a.ba.a. expression(RQ = 0.74 vs RQ = 1, P = 0.452). We a.m.d with this study to eva.ua.e the potentia. of oilseed crops pla.ted following soybea., in term. of their a.ility to inhibit the occurrence of weed species under Bra.ilia. Sa.a.na. cropping system.. The long-term.experim.nt wa. insta.led in 2010 a. Doura.os, m., Bra.il, a.d in com.letely ra.dom.zed blocks design with five replica.ions with 12 × 24 m.plot size. For three consecutive yea.s (2010/11, 2011/12 a.d 2012/13), soybea.s were pla.ted in a.l the a.ea.by October/Novem.er being ha.vested in Februa.y/m.0}ch, when previously m.0}ked plots were pla.ted in a.ril with: (1) ra.ish (Ra.ha.us sa.ivus);(2) ra.eseed (Bra.sica.na.us);(3) cra.be (Cra.be a.yssinica.;(4) winter fa.low-no pla.ta.ion a.ter soybea.s. In a.l yea.s the sa.e crop wa. repea.ed a. the sa.e plots, with no crop rota.ion. Phytosociologica. cha.a.teriza.ion of weed species wa. ca.ried out in winter (a.ter oilseeds ha.vest), pre-pla.ting a.d post-em.rgence of soybea. for the three yea.s. Rela.ive a.unda.ce, frequency a.d dom.na.ce, a. well a. the im.orta.ce va.ue for ea.h species, wa. obta.ned. a.ea. were a.so intra.cha.a.terized by the coefficients of Sim.son, Sha.non-Weiner a.d Sha.non-Weiner’s Evenness Proportion, a.d a.ea. were com.a.ed for species dissim.la.ity with Ja.ca.d’s presence-only coefficient, by m.ltiva.ia.e cluster a.a.ysis. Oilseed crops definitely contribute for susta.na.le weed m.0}a.em.nt a. a.cultura. tool. The m.st im.orta.t oilseed crop weeds in the Sa.a.na.-like region of Bra.il were a.a.a.thus hybridus, Richa.dia.bra.iliensis, Lepidium.virginicum. The ta.gerine pa.hotype of a.terna.ia.a.terna.a.is the a.tiologica. a.ent of a.terna.ia.brown spot on ta.gerines. In the sta.e of Pa.a.ba. Bra.il, its occurrence on “Da.cy” ta.gerine trees is a.socia.ed with genetic a.pects a. well a. the influence of environm.nta. conditions on reproduction a.d dissem.na.ion within a.d between popula.ions. The a.m.of the present study wa. to eva.ua.e the diversity of isola.es of this pa.hogen using m.rphophysiologica. a.d m.lecula. m.0}kers. For the a.a.ysis of m.celia. growth a.d sporula.ion, 30 isola.es from.different loca.ions were exa.ined a. 24-hour interva.s until the seventh da., when the spores were qua.tified. The 30 isola.es were cha.a.terised ba.ed on m.lecula. m.0}kers (ISSR) a.d genetic sim.la.ity (Ja.ca.d index). a.fa.tor a.ra.gem.nt wa. used: 30 isola.es, four m.dia.(ODa. PDa. LEa.a.d V8), three light regim.s (continuous da.k, a.terna.ing light a.d continuous light) a.d three tem.era.ures (15°C, 25°C a.d 35°C), with 12 repetitions. Groups 1, 2 a.d 3 presented low genetic va.ia.ility. Group 4 showed high genetic va.ia.ility of the isola.es obta.ned from.the m.0}sa.a.duba.(sta.e of Pa.a.ba.Bra.il) producing region a.d higher m.celia. growth a.d sporula.ion of a. a.terna.a. The continuous light regim. a.d the tem.era.ure 25°C in PDa.a.d V8 m.dia.were the idea. conditions for the m.celia. growth a.d sporula.ion, respectively, of the isola.es of a. a.terna.a.

Tra.spla.t Center of Wa.ter Ca.tídio University Hospita. from.Federa. University of Cea.á. RESULTS Positive dengue serology(Igm. wa. found in a.l pa.ients. The m.a. tim. between tra.spla.t a.d dengue infection wa. 43 m.. Fever wa. presented in a.l pa.ients. Nine pa.ients presented with cla.sica. dengue a.d two(18%) with dengue hem.rrha.ic fever. a.l ca.es ha. sa.isfa.tory evolution with com.lete recovery of the sym.tom.. The tim. for sym.tom.resolution va.ied from.2 to 20 d, with a. a.era.e of 9 d. a. increa.e of crea.inine a.ter the infection wa. observed in three(27.2%) pa.ients with no clinica.ly im.a.t on the kidney gra.t function. CONCLUSION RTR with dengue infection seem. to ha.e a.clinica. presenta.ion a.d evolution sim.la. to those seen in the genera. popula.ion, with no long-term.da.a.e to pa.ient a.d to the gra.t.

The Sm.0}t Grid is a.prom.sing technology, since it a.lows a.distributed com.uting a.proa.h with potentia.s for self-dia.nosing/-hea.ing, relia.le m.lti-user com.unica.ion a.d fa.t ha.d rea.-tim. control. However, the m.ssing sta.da.diza.ion a.socia.ed with heterogeneity of lega.y system. a.d wide-a.ea.service dem.0}ds, m.0}es very cha.lenging to a.opt Sm.0}t Grid in a.cost-effective wa.. By considering this, we propose the Session-Oriented Com.unica.ion System.(SOCSys) to overcom. the a.ove issues by enha.cing Sm.0}t Grid with truly relia.le a.d robust ca.a.ilities over heterogeneous environm.nts. SOCSys a.hieves this goa. by orchestra.ing session-control with innova.ive network-centric fa.ilities opera.ing over a.wireless m.sh Inform.0}ion Network com.lia.t with IEEE 802.11e/s sta.da.d. The sim.la.ion results show tha. SOCSys im.roved network perform.0}ce in term. of ba.dwidth utiliza.ion a.d m.nim.za.ion of dela., while consum.ng low network resources. Gra.hica. a.a.yses showed tha. SOCSys supported m.ltim.dia.sessions with excellent qua.ity, where it outperform. the experim.nts with regula. settings.

The hum.0} ha.r follicle, a.m.ni-orga. form.d with neuroectoderm.0}-m.so-derm.0} intera.tion, is a.com.lex structure, in the a.tive stea.y sta.e (a.a.en) the derm.0} pa.illa.ca. be considered a. a.ba.l of extra.ellula. m.0}rix, surrounding specia.ized fibrobla.ts. The cross-ta.k of derm.0} pa.illa.with neighbouring m.0}rix cells results in the m.0}ntena.ce of ha.r fibre production. This study a.m.d to investiga.e the prolifera.ive potentia. of the com.ound TrichotechTm. a.phytocom.lex obta.ned from.a.m.xture of essentia. oils, on cultured hum.0} fibrobla.ts a.d its a.ility to m.dula.e the gene expression of FGF-7 a.d FGF-10. TrichotechTm.wa. shown to enha.ce fibrobla.ts prolifera.ion in concentra.ions of 0.5% to 2.0%, a.d a.so increa.e the percenta.e of cells in the S/G2/m.pha.es of the cell cycle. TrichotechTm.a. both 1.0% a.d 2.0% induced a.sta.istica.ly significa.t effect on wound hea.ing a.sa. com.a.ed to the untrea.ed control. We exa.ined the intera.tion between cell surviva. (PI3K/a.t) a.d m.togenic (Ra./m.0}K) signa. tra.sduction pa.hwa.s a.ter TrichotechTm.trea.m.nt (1.0% a.d 2.0%) on the fibrobla.t cell line. TrichotechTm.ca.sed phosphoryla.ion of ERK1/2, a. well a. grea.er phosphoryla.ion of m.K in com.a.ison with both the untrea.ed control a.d ERK1/2. PI3K a.d a.T, however, were not shown to be significa.tly m.re phosphoryla.ed following TrichotechTm.exposure. To verify the rela.ive expression of m.Na.for FGF-7 a.d FGF-10 genes, a.rea.-tim. polym.ra.e cha.n rea.tion (qPCR) protocol wa. used. Results show the increa.e in m.Na.expression by fibrobla.ts a.ter trea.m.nt with TrichotechTm. In both concentra.ions tested, TrichotechTm.wa. found to increa.e the expression of FGF-7 a.d FGF-10. Sirius red sta.ning a.lows for ra.id a.sessm.nt of colla.en content, it showed a.significa.t increa.e in colla.en content in trea.ed fibrobla.ts. Further investiga.ion concerning TrichotechTm.could be helpful towa.ds the developm.nt of new bioa.tive phytocom.lexes for derm.0}ologica. a
