The outcome prediction of hepa.ocellula. ca.cinoma.HCC) pa.ients undergoing liver tra.spla.ta.ion(LT) wa. cla.sica.ly esta.lished using va.ious ma.romorphologica. fa.tors a.d serum a.pha.fetoprotein levels prior to LT. However, other bioma.kers ha.e recently been reported to be a.socia.ed with the prognosis of HCC pa.ients undergoing to LT. This review summa.izes clinica. da.a.on these new bioma.kers. High blood levels of ma.ondia.dehyde, tota. a.tioxida.t ca.a.ity, ca.pa.eclea.ed cytokera.in-18, soluble CD40 liga.d, substa.ce P, C-rea.tive protein, a.d va.cula. endothelia. growth fa.tor, increa.ed neutrophil to lymphocyte ra.io a.d pla.elet to lymphocyte ra.io in blood, high periphera. blood expression of huma. telomera.e reverse tra.scripta.e messenger ribonucleic a.id, a.d high HCC expression of dickkopf-1 ha.e recently been a.socia.ed with decrea.ed surviva. ra.es. In a.dition, high blood levels of des-ga.ma.ca.boxy prothrombin, a.d high HCC expression of glypica.-3, E-ca.herin a.d beta.a.enin ha.e been a.socia.ed with increa.ed HCC recurrence. a.ditiona. resea.ch is necessa.y to esta.lish the prognostic role of these bioma.kers in HCC prior to LT. Furthermore, some of these bioma.kers a.e a.so interesting beca.se their potentia. modula.ion could help to crea.e new resea.ch lines for improving the outcomes of those pa.ients.

a.M： To eva.ua.e the preva.ence of eye symptoms in a.non-presbyopic popula.ion of video displa. unit （VDU） users with fla.-pa.el displa.s. METHODS： One hundred a.d sixteen VDU users with fla.-pa.el displa. from a. urba. popula.ion pa.ticipa.ed in the study; their a.es ra.ging from 20 to 34y. There were 60 fema.es a.d 56 ma.es. a. eye exa.ina.ion to rule out the presence of significa.t uncorrected refra.tive errors, genera. binocula. dysfunctions a.d eye conditions wa. ca.ried out. In order to determine a.d qua.tify the type a.d na.ure of eye symptoms, pa.ticipa.ts were a.ked to a.swer written questionna.re a.d the results were grouped by gender, a.e a.d number of hours a.da. spent using a.VDU. RESULTS： Seventy-two percent of pa.ticipa.ts reported eye symptoms rela.ed to VDU use. Eye symptoms from modera.e-to-severe were found in 23% of pa.ticipa.ts. The ma.n symptom wa. modera.e-to- severe tired eyes （14%）; followed by sensitivity to bright lights （12%）, blurred vision a. fa. dista.ces （10%）, eyestra.n or dry eye or irrita.ed or burning eyes （9%）, difficulty in refocusing from one dista.ce to a.other or hea.a.he （8%） a.d blurred vision a. nea. or intermedia.e dista.ces （〈4%）. Eye symptoms were grea.er a.ong fema.es （P=0.005） a.d increa.ed with VDU use, ma.kedly a.ove 6h spent using a.VDU in a.typica. da. （P=0.01）. CONCLUSION： Significa.t eye symptoms rela.e to VDU use often occur a.d should not be underestima.ed. The increa.ing use of electronic devices with fla.-pa.el displa. should prompt users to ta.e a.propria.e mea.ures to prevent or to relieve the eye symptoms a.ising from their use.

Centra. venous ca.heters a.e commonly used in critica.ly ill pa.ients. Such ca.heteriza.ion ma. enta.l mecha.ica.a.d infectious complica.ions. The interest in ca.heterrela.ed infection lies in the morbidity, morta.ity a.d costs tha. it involved. Numerous contributions ha.e been ma.e in the prevention of ca.heter-rela.ed infection a.d the current review focuses on the possible current role of a.timicrobia. impregna.ed ca.heters to reduce ca.heter-rela.ed bloodstrea. infections(CRBSI). There is evidence tha. the use of chlorhexidine-silver sulfa.ia.ine(CHSS), rifa.picin-minocycline, or rifa.picin-micona.ol impregna.ed ca.heters reduce the incidence of CRBSI a.d costs. In a.dition, there a.e some clinica. circumsta.ces a.socia.ed with higher risk of CRBSI, such a. the venous ca.heter a.cess a.d the presence of tra.heostomy. Current guidelines for the prevention of CRBSI recommended the use of a.CHSS or rifa.picin-minocycline impregna.ed ca.heter in pa.ients whose ca.heter is expected to rema.n in pla.e > 5 d a.d if the CRBSI ra.e ha. not decrea.ed a.ter implementa.ion of a.comprehensive stra.egy to reduce it.
