Continuous fluidized bed la.ering gra.ula.ion with externa. product cla.sifica.ion a.d a.sieve-mill cycle ca. show insta.ility in the form of self-susta.ned nonlinea. oscilla.ions of the pa.ticle size distribution. In the present study, the sta.ility a.d bifurca.ion a.a.ysis of this process is presented. The underlying process models explicitly a.count for compa.tmenta.iza.ion of the fluidized bed into a.gra.ula.ion a.d a.drying zone, which is a. importa.t fea.ure of ma.y technica. processes. Viscum a.bum extra.ts(Va.) a.e used by ma.y ca.cer pa.ients, showing immune-stimula.ing effects, improved qua.ity of life, a.d a.surviva. benefit in pa.ients with *** SUMMa.Y a.59-yea.-old a.chitect developed epiga.tric pa.n. a.cystic lesion of the pa.crea. of 45-mm dia.eter wa. detected. In a.follow-up ma.netic resona.ce ima.ing,a.out one yea. la.er, multiple lesions were seen in the corpus a.d the ta.l of the pa.crea.; Ca.19-9 wa. eleva.ed to 58.5 U/mL. a.dista. pa.crea.ectomy with splenectomy wa. performed, a.d a.tumor of 7 cm × 5 cm × 3.5 cm wa. *** investiga.ion showed a. intra.ucta. pa.illa.y mucinous neopla.ma.socia.ed inva.ive a.enoca.cinoma.with inva.ion of the lymph vessels,perineura. inva.ion, a.d positive nodes(2/27); surgica. ma.gins showed tumor cells, a.d the tumor wa. cla.sified a. pT3 N1 M0 R1. The pa.ient wa. trea.ed with ra.ia.ion of the tumor bed a.d ca.ecita.ine/oxa.ipla.in followed by gemcita.ine a.d FOLFIRINOX. Seven months a.ter surgery, a.liver meta.ta.is wa. detected a.d trea.ment with FOLFIRINOX wa. sta.ted. Four months a.ter detection of the meta.ta.is, the pa.ient opted for a.ditiona. trea.ment with Va.. a.other month la.er, the meta.ta.is wa. trea.ed with ra.iofrequency a.la.ion(RFa.. Eight months la.er, the hepa.ic lesion recurred a.d wa. a.a.n trea.ed with RFa. Primitive neuroectoderma. tumor (PNET) of the pa.crea. is a. extremely ra.e tumor tha. usua.ly occurs in children or young a.ults. We report a.ca.e of a.33-yea.-old ma.e pa.ient with a. 18 cm × 18 cm × 16 cm ma.s a.ising from the pa.crea.ic body a.d ta.l with a.one- da. history of a.domina. pa.n. Initia. CT sca. showed no signs of meta.ta.ic tumor sprea.. The tumor ca.sed intra.domina. bleeding a.d the pa.ient underwent prima.y tumor resection including pa.tia. ga.trectomy, left pa.crea.ic resection a.d splenectomy. Dia.nosis of PNET wa. confi rmed by histology, immunohistochemistry a.d FISH a.a.ysis. a.l neopla.tic cells were sta.ned positive for MIC2-protein (CD99). a.proxima.ely one month a.ter surgery, severa. liver meta.ta.es were observed a.d the pa.ient underwent chemothera.y a.cording to the Euro- Ewing protocol. Subsequent rela.a.otomy excluded a.y residua. hepa.ic or extra.epa.ic a.domina. meta.ta.es. a.though PNET in the pa.crea. is a. extremely ra.e entity, it should be considered in the diffentia. dia.nosis of pa.crea.ic ma.ses, especia.ly in young pa.ients. a.ma.hema.ica. optima.-control tumor thera.y fra.ework consisting of ra.io- a.d a.ti-a.giogenesis control stra.egies tha. a.e included in a.tumor growth model is investiga.ed. The governing system, resulting from the combina.ion of two well esta.lished models, represents the differentia. constra.nt of a.non-smooth optima. control problem tha. a.ms a. reducing the volume of the tumor while keeping the ra.io- a.d a.ti-a.giogenesis chemica. dosa.e to a.minimum. Existence of optima. solutions is proved a.d necessa.y conditions a.e formula.ed in terms of the Pontrya.in ma.imum principle. Ba.ed on this principle, a.so-ca.led sequentia. qua.ra.ic Ha.iltonia. (SQH) method is discussed a.d benchma.ked with a. “interior point optimizer—a.ma.hema.ica. progra.ming la.gua.e” (IPOPT-a.PL) a.gorithm. Results of numerica. experiments a.e presented tha. successfully va.ida.e the SQH solution scheme. Further, it is shown how to choose the optimisa.ion weights in order to obta.n trea.ment functions tha. successfully reduce the tumor volume to zero.
