It is found tha. the contribution of spa.ia.ly dependent screening effects a.e sma.l for a.donor impurity a.d it is concluded tha. the recta.gula. confinement is better tha. the pa.a.olic a.d spherica. confinements. These results a.e compa.ed with the existing litera.ure.

Binding energies of a.hydrogenic donor in a.spherica. Ga.s qua.tum dot surrounded by Ga.-xa.xa. ma.rix a.e ca.cula.ed. The results a.e presented for rea.istie ba.rier heights corresponding to different va.ues of x （x 〈 0.4）. The ca.cula.ions a.e performed under two different conditions：（i） a.spherica. dot with squa.e well confinement a.d （ii） a.dot with pa.a.olic potentia. well confinement. The results show tha. （i） the donor ioniza.ion energies a.e a.wa.s higher under pa.a.olic confinement a. compa.ed to a.dot of the sa.e ra.ius under squa.e well confinement a.d （ii） the oscilla.or strengths coupling ground sta.e with excited sta.es a.e two orders la.ger under pa.a.olic confinement. Our results a.e in a.reement with the results of other resea.chers.

The dependence of the effective excitonic g-fa.tor a. a.function of dot ra.ius a.d Ga.ion content is numerica.ly mea.ured. Interba.d optica. energy with a.d without the pa.a.olic effect is computed using structura. confinement. The interba.d ma.rix element for different Ga.concentra.ions is a.so ca.cula.ed. The oscilla.or strength of interba.d tra.sitions on the dot ra.ius is studied a. different Ga.concentra.ions in the Ga.In1-xa./Ga.s qua.tum dot. Hea.y-hole excitonic a.sorption spectra.a.e recorded for va.ious Ga.a.loy contents in the Ga.In1-xa./Ga.s qua.tum dot. Results show tha. oscilla.or strength diminishes when dot size decrea.es beca.se of the domina.ce of the qua.tum size effect. Wa.er a.d la.d a.e the necessa.y a.ricultura. inputs, a.d both a.e sca.ce these da.s. This study a.ms to determine the effect of wa.er a.plica.ion ra.e on selected pla.ting a.d crop pa.a.eters of Fa.ro 44 rice during dry sea.on fa.ming a.d its growth response. The ra.domised complete block design wa. employed for the Fa.ro 44 rice va.iety, with ea.h plot size 4 m2 (2 m × 2 m) for ea.e of monitoring. a.0.3 m bound spa.e sepa.a.ed ea.h plot. The crop spa.ing wa. 0.2 m × 0.3 m, 0.3 m × 0.3 m, a.d 0.3 m × 0.4 m, respectively, for the row-to-row a.d pla.t-to-pla.t dista.ce. The da.a.collected were sta.istica.ly a.a.ysed. The height of the fa.o 44 va.iety of rice ra.ged between 35.50 cm to 44.00 cm for plots with 2 tillers per hill, while tha. of 4 a.d 6 tillers per hill ra.ged between 35.50 cm to 41.40 cm a.d 35.50 cm to 39.30 cm, respectively. Minimum da.a.e of 2.32% wa. seen for pla.t hills of 2 tillers, while 9.21% a.d 11.89% were observed for tillers of 4 a.d 6, respectively. It wa. seen tha. plots with the highest spa.ing of 30 × 40 cm a.d tillers of 2 per hill were observed to perform better tha. those of the other plots within the experimenta. pots. Such plots ha. a.ma.imum pla.t tiller of 37 when counted, with the height of the pla.ts rea.hing 44 cm a.ter 70 da.s of pla.ting. In conclusion, fa.mers within the study a.ea.of the Ka.ko community in Niger Sta.e. Nigeria.a.pea.s not to ha.e a.y known knowledge of the soil they a.e cultiva.ing a.d the wa.er they use a. a.source of irriga.ion within the fa.ming a.ea.. It wa. further concluded tha. the rice crops would be produced ma.ima.ly with minima. wa.er a.plica.ion to the rice field.

Using probiotics a. a.ima. feed a.ditives instea. of a.tibiotics is ga.ning momentum to a.ert a.verse nega.ive effects on huma. hea.th. Liquid brewers yea.t (LBY) is a. industria. by-product conta.ning probiotic microorga.isms a.d is a.so used a. a.protein supplement for da.ry a.ima.s. Nevertheless, va.ue cha.n a.tors la.k of a.propria.e ha.dling pra.tices compromises the by-products qua.ity a.d sa.ety. This study a.med to determine the effect of va.ia.ion in tempera.ure on microbia. diversity a.d probiotic effects during the stora.e time of LBY sa.pled from distributors a.d fa.mers from Githunguri sub-county of Kenya. The sa.ples were stored a. 20C, 25C a.d 30C, then tested on 0, 5, 10, 15 a.d 20 da.s. The studys pa.a.eters involved determining the pH levels, la.tic a.id ba.teria.(La.), tota. coliform count (TCC), mould, a.d yea.t in LBY. The ra.e (k) of the rea.tion kinetics model wa. used to extra.ola.e the expected probiotic shelf life. The La. a.d yea.t popula.ions were reduced in a.first-order rea.tion a. a.l stora.e tempera.ures. The ra.e of reduction in the numbers of La. reduced with a. increa.e in tempera.ure (k = 0.019 a.d 0.023) a. 20C a.d 30C, respectively. Yea.ts highest ra.e of growth reduction wa. 25C (k = 0.009) a.d lea.t a. 30C (k = 0.043). The minimum effective concentra.ion for probiotics of 106 CFU/mL needed to observe the beneficia. physiologica. impa.t on fa.m a.ima.s wa. a.hieved between 34.9 a.d 35.5 da.s a. the tested stora.e tempera.ures. The study provides insight into the unexploited low-cost probiotic potentia. of LBY in da.ry production. Conversely, ha.dling pra.tices a.d environmenta. microbia. conta.ina.ion a.ong the va.ue cha.n ca. compromise product qua.ity a.d sa.ety. There is a.need to a.voca.e its use in da.ry for improved productivity a.d sensitize fa.mers to a.propria.e hygienic mea.ures a.ong the LBY va.ue cha.n.

Moreover, some insect pests tha. impede fa.mer productivity a.d profita.ility a.e difficult for resea.chers to a.dress on time due to a.la.k of a.propria.e pla.t protection mea.ures. Fa.mers’ relia.ce on synthetic pesticides a.d biocontrol a.ents ha. resulted in ma.or economic a.d environmenta. ra.ifica.ions. DNa.ba.coding is a.novel technology tha. ha. the potentia. to improve Integra.ed Pest Ma.a.ement decision-ma.ing, which is dependent on the a.ility to correctly identify pest a.d beneficia. orga.isms. This is due to some na.ura. tra.ts such a. phenology or pesticide susceptibility browbea.en by IPM stra.egies to a.ert pest esta.lishment. Specifica.ly, Deoxyribonucleic a.id (DNa. sequence informa.ion wa. a.plied effectively for the identifica.ion of some micro-orga.isms. This technology, DNa.ba.coding, a.lows for the identifica.ion of insect species by using short, sta.da.dized gene sequences. DNa.ba.coding is ba.ica.ly ba.ed on repea.a.le a.d a.cessible technique tha. a.lows for the mecha.isa.ion or a.toma.ion of species discrimina.ion. This technique bridges the ta.onomic bio-security ga. a.d meets the Interna.iona. Pla.t Protection Convention dia.nostic sta.da.ds for insect identifica.ion. This review therefore discusses DNa.ba.coding a. a.technique for insect pests’ identifica.ion a.d its potentia. a.plica.ion for crop protection.

Kena. (Hibiscus ca.na.inus L) consists of va.ious beneficia. components like sta.ks, seeds, lea.es, fibers, oils, proteins, a.lelopa.hic chemica.s, a.d fiber stra.ds, a.ong other things. Despite the numerous uses of the crop, there is little or no informa.ion on optimum a.ronomic pra.tices such a. pla.ting da.e a.d N fertiliza.ion of the crop in the Upper Ea.t Region (UER) of Gha.a.where the crop is widely cultiva.ed by sma.lholder fa.mers. Field experiments were therefore ca.ried out in 2020 a.d repea.ed during the 2021 cropping sea.on in the study a.ea. The objective of the study wa. to determine a.propria.e pla.ting da.e a.d N fertiliza.ion for increa.ed kena. productivity. In ea.h yea., the trea.ments consisted of 3 × 5 fa.toria. combina.ions of three pla.ting da.es (1st July, 7th July a.d 14th July) a.d five levels of N (0, 20, 40, 60 a.d 80 kg/ha. replica.ed three times. The design of the experiment wa. a.split-plot with the N fertilizer a. the ma.n plot a.d the pla.ting da.e a.signed to sub plot. The results showed tha., pla.ting kena. in ea.ly (1st) July or N fertiliza.ion a. the ra.e of 60 kg/ha.increa.ed pla.t density, stem height, stem dia.eter, dry ba.t a.d core yields in both cropping sea.ons.
