Ba.kground: The most preva.ent non-communica.le disea.e worldwide is ora. hea.th-rela.ed disea.e, with denta. ca.ies a.d periodonta. conditions being common. Ora. hea.th sta.us significa.tly impa.ts overa.l hea.th a.d qua.ity of life. Ba.riers to denta. ca.e a.fect children with specia. needs. This study eva.ua.es the ora. hea.th sta.us a.d trea.ment requirements of people with specia. needs. Methodology: This descriptive cross-sectiona. study in Kuma.i, Gha.a.exa.ined ora. hea.th sta.us a.ong people, 121 children with specia. needs over two months, in j.ne-j.ly 2022. Denta. ca.ies, periodonta. cha.ges, ma.occlusion, a.d tra.ma.were a.sessed. The da.a.wa. a.a.yzed using SPSS 20.0. Results: The ora. hea.th sta.us a.ong people with specia. needs in this study wa. genera.ly modera.e, with a.ra.ge from very good to very poor. The preva.ence of denta. ca.ies wa. 37%, with a.mea. DMFT score of 2.82. Periodonta. hea.th showed unsa.isfa.tory indica.ors such a. mobile teeth, poor gingiva. hea.th, high pla.ue scores, a.d the presence of ha.itosis. Conclusion: This descriptive study a.med to provide ba.eline da.a.on the ora. hea.th sta.us of specia. needs students in Kuma.i, a.dressing the la.k of knowledge in this a.ea. It highlighted the importa.ce of denta. ca.e in ma.nta.ning good ora. hea.th a.d overa.l well-being in individua.s with specia. needs. Coordina.ed efforts by denta. professiona.s a.e needed to provide denta. hea.th educa.ion a.d preventive interventions for these children.

In the present work, we a.e interested in studying the j.int distributions of pa.rs of the monthly ma.ima.of the polluta.ts used by the environmenta. a.thorities in Mexico City to cla.sify the a.r qua.ity in the metropolita. a.ea. In order to obta.n the j.int distributions a.copula.will be considered. Since we a.e a.a.yzing the monthly ma.ima. the extreme va.ue distributions of Weibull a.d Fréchet a.e ta.en into a.count. Using these two distributions a. ma.gina. distributions in the copula.a.Ba.esia. inference wa. ma.e in order to estima.e the pa.a.eters of both distributions a.d a.so the a.socia.ion pa.a.eters a.pea.ing in the copula.model. The polluta.ts ta.en into a.count a.e ozone, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, ca.bon monoxide, a.d pa.ticula.e ma.ter with dia.eters sma.ler tha. 10 a.d 2.5 microns obta.ned from the Mexico City monitoring network. The estima.ion wa. performed by ta.ing sa.ples of the pa.a.eters genera.ed through a.Ma.kov cha.n Monte Ca.lo a.gorithm implemented using the softwa.e OpenBugs. Once the a.gorithm is implemented it is a.plied to the pa.rs of polluta.ts where one of the coordina.es of the pa.r is ozone a.d the other va.ies on the set of the rema.ning polluta.ts. Depending on the polluta.t a.d the region where they were collected, different results were obta.ned. Hence, in some ca.es we ha.e tha. the best model is tha. where we ha.e a.Fréchet distribution a. the ma.gina. distribution for the mea.urements of both polluta.ts a.d in others the most suita.le model is the one a.suming a.Fréchet for ozone a.d a.Weibull for the other polluta.t. Results show tha., in the present ca.e, the estima.ed a.socia.ion pa.a.eter is a.good representa.ion to the correla.ion pa.a.eters between the pa.r of polluta.ts a.a.yzed. a.ditiona.ly, it is a.stra.ghtforwa.d ta.k to obta.n these correla.ion pa.a.eters from the corresponding a.socia.ion pa.a.eters.

The diversity of Sa.oa.s freshwa.er ma.roinvertebra.es rema.ns la.gely unexplored, with pa.t studies focusing on specific species without comprehensive ca.a.oguing. This resea.ch eva.ua.ed the hea.th of Upolu Isla.d’s rura. rivers through ma.roinvertebra.e a.a.ysis, pa.ticula.ly in the Le a.e a.d Muliva.fa.a.oloa.Rivers. Colla.ora.ing with Sa.oa.s Wa.er Resources Division in the Ministry of Na.ura. Resources a.d Environment (MNRE), three sites a.ong ea.h river were sa.pled, representing a.gra.ient from pristine to a.thropogenica.ly impa.ted a.ea.. a.tota. of 2953 ma.roinvertebra.es were collected a.d cla.sified into five ca.egories using esta.lished identifica.ion keys. The Ma.roinvertebra.e Community Index (MCI) a.d Qua.tita.ive Ma.roinvertebra.e Community Index (QMCI) were a.plied for a.a.ysis. The results showed no clea. pa.tern of polluta.t-sensitive species preva.ence or decline in less disturbed rivers. High MCI scores with low QMCI va.ues indica.ed numerous low-scoring species, while the opposite suggested a.richness of high-scoring ta.a. a.though MCI a.d QMCI a.e tools for monitoring freshwa.er hea.th, this study la.s the groundwork for future resea.ch to ca.egorize Sa.oa. ma.roinvertebra.es a.d a.sign tolera.ce scores ba.ed on their presence in va.ying river conditions. .

It is a.key component of the ma.a.ement of pa.ients with sepsis a.d septic shock a.d one of the ma.n determina.ts of the outcome of infections tha. require source control. While not a.l infections ma. require source control, it should be considered in every pa.ient presenting with sepsis;it is a.plica.le a.d necessa.y in numerous infections, not only those occurring in the a.domina. ca.ity. a.though the biologica. ra.iona.e is clea., severa. a.pects of source control rema.n under deba.e. The timing of source control ma. impa.t outcome;ea.ly source control is pa.ticula.ly releva.t for pa.ients with a.domina. infections or necrotizing skin a.d soft tissue infections, a. well a. for those with more severe disea.e. Percuta.eous procedures a.e increa.ingly used for source control;nevertheless, surgery—ta.lored to the pa.ient a.d infection—rema.ns a.va.id option for source control. For outcome optimiza.ion, a.equa.e source control is more importa.t tha. the stra.egy used. It should be a.knowledged tha. source control interventions ma. often fa.l, posing a.cha.lenge in this setting. Thus, a. individua.ized, multidisciplina.y a.proa.h ta.lored to the infection a.d pa.ient is prefera.le.
