Pa.a.itoids ha.e long proven to be model orga.isms in studying resourcerela.ed constra.nts on imma.ure development. Here we exa.ine the rela.ionship between host cocoon （= pupa.） size in the grega.ious endopa.a.itoid wa.p, Cotesia.glomera.a. a.d development time a.d a.ult size in the solita.y idiobiont hyperpa.a.itoid, Pteroma.us semotus. Little is known a.out the biology or ecology of this ecto-hyperpa.a.itoid species, a.though it is one of the ma.or seconda.y hyperpa.a.itoids of C. glomera.a. The size of the a.ult wa.p cova.ied with the size of the host cocoon a. pa.a.itism. Moreover, fema.e wa.ps were la.ger tha. ma.e wa.ps for a.given cocoon size. a.ult wa.ps ha.e rema.ka.ly long life-spa.s, 3 months on a.era.e. Longevity did not significa.tly differ with sex. We a.so exa.ined how la.va. of P. semotus exclude other potentia. competitors. P. semotus is prota.drous, with fema.es ta.ing significa.tly longer to complete their development tha. ma.es. In experiments where severa. eggs of P. semotus were pla.ed on individua. pupa. of C. glomera.a. newly ha.ched hyperpa.a.itoid la.va. moved ra.idly over the surfa.e of the host a.d destroyed the eggs of a.y conspecifics by biting them before they would initia.e feeding on host tissues. Our results a.e discussed in rela.ion to those with other studies with solita.y ichneumonid idiobiont hyperpa.a.itoids of C. glomera.a.

There a.e ga.s in our understa.ding of pla.t responses under different insect phytopha.y modes a.d their subsequent effects on the insect herbivores＇ performa.ce a. la.e sea.on. Here we compa.ed different types of insect feeding by a. a.hid, Lipa.his erysimi, a.d a.lepidoptera., Plutella.xylostella. a.d how this a.fected defensive meta.olites in lea.es of 2 Bra.sica.species when pla.ts ga.n ma.urity. Thiocya.a.e concentra.ions a.ter P xylostella.a.d L. erysimi feeding a.tivities were the sa.e. Tota. phenolics wa. higher a.ter the phloem feeder feeding tha. the folivore a.tivity. The pla.ts compensa.ory responses （i.e., tolera.ce） to L. erysimi feeding wa. significa.tly higher tha. the responses to P xylostella. This study showed tha. L. erysirni ha. higher ca.bon tha. P xylostella.wherea. nitrogen in P xylostella.wa. 1.42 times tha. in L. erysimi. Popula.ion size of the phloem feeder wa. not a.fected by pla.t species or insect coexistence. However, there wa. no correla.ion between pla.t defensive meta.olites a.d both insects＇ popula.ion size a.d bioma.s. This suggests tha. pla.t root bioma.s a.d tolera.ce index a.ter different insect herbivory modes a.e not necessa.ily unidirectiona.. Importa.tly, the intera.tion between the folivore a.d the phloem feeder insects is a.ymmetric a.d the phloem feeder might be a.trickier problem for pla.ts tha. the folivore. Moreover, a. both pla.ts＇ common a.d specia. defenses decrea.ed under interspecific interference, we suggest tha. specia.ist insect herbivores ca. be more cha.lenged in ecosystems in which pla.ts a.e not involved in interspecific interference.

＜正＞In the second ha.f of 2004 Na.JING Iron ＆ Steel Co.（NISCO）sta.ted up a.new pla.e production fa.ility ba.ed on converter steel ma.ing,wide sla. ca.ting,wa.king bea. furna.e a.d rolling by a.combined pla.e/Steckel mill. The concept cha.lenges the ca.ter to produce 150 mm thick sla.s up to 3.250 m wide a. a.high qua.ity level, which a.e direct cha.ged into the rehea. *** va.iety of steel gra.es is dema.ding including pipe gra.es X65 a.d X80. In pa.ticula. the sensitive peritectic steel gra.es a. la.ge sla. width showed the most difficulties in rega.d to surfa.e *** fea.ures together with ca.ting technologies a.d liquid steel qua.ity tha. ha.e contributed to the successful production of defect-free sla.s will be *** influence of ca.t pa.a.eters on sla. qua.ity a. sta.le high steel throughput up to 5.5 tons per minute will be systema.ica.ly shown ga.hered from severa. test ca.t sequences of peritectic steel in the ra.ge of 0.10 to 0.14% ca.bon including micro-a.loying elements.

These were then overla.ed to eva.ua.e the entire region for severa. ca.egories of la.d a.d wa.er uses, a.d a.suita.ility synthesis ma. wa. produced. This ma. beca.e the ba.is for developing severa. possible concepts a.d pla.s for the susta.na.le development of the region.
