Herein, we report the desig. a.d synthesis of three new D-a.type meta.-free ca.ba.ole ba.ed dyes（S1-3）a. effective co-sensitizers for dye-sensitized sola. cell（DSSC） sensitized with Ru（Ⅱ） complex（NCSU-10）.In this new desig., the electron rich ca.ba.ole unit wa. a.ta.hed to three different electron withdra.ing.a.choring.species, viz. 4-a.ino benzoic a.id, sulfa.ilic a.id a.d ba.bituric a.id. The dyes were cha.a.terized by spectra., photophysica. a.d electrochemica. a.a.ysis. Their optica. a.d electrochemica. pa.a.eters a.ong.with molecula. g.ometries, optimized from DFT ha.e been employed to a.prehend the effect of the structures of these co-sensitizers on the photovolta.c performa.ces. Further, S1-3 dyes were co-sensitized a.ong.with a.well-known NCSU-10 dye in order to broa.en the spectra. response of the co-sensitized devices a.d hence improve the efficiency. The photovolta.c performa.ce studies indica.ed tha., the device fa.rica.ed using.S1 dye a. co-sensitizer with 0.2 mM of NCSU-10 exhibited improved PCE of 9.55% with JSC of 22.85 ma.cm-2, VOC of 0.672 V a.d FF of 62.2%, wherea. the DSSC fa.rica.ed with dye NCSU-10（0.2 mM） a.one displa.ed PCE of 8.25% with JSC of 20.41 ma.cm-2, VOC of 0.667 V a.d FF of 60.6%. Furthermore, electronic excita.ions simula.ed using.time-dependent DFT, were in g.od a.reement with the experimenta.ly obta.ned results of the co-sensitizers, indica.ing.tha. the excha.g.-correla.ion function a.d ba.is set utilized for predicting.the spectra.of the co-sensitizers a.e quite a.propria.e for the ca.cula.ions. In conclusion, the results showed the potentia. of simple org.0}ic co-sensitizers in the development of efficient DSSCs.

In the present work, a. investig.0}ion on the a.plica.ion of sola. energ. to hea. a.sa.dy bed impreg.a.ed with ca.cium chloride for recovery of wa.er from a.mospheric a.r is presented. The study a.so a.med a. eva.ua.ing.the effects of different pa.a.eters on the productivity of the system during.reg.nera.ion. These pa.a.eters include system desig. cha.a.teristics a.d the clima.ic conditions. a. experimenta. unit ha. been desig.ed a.d insta.led for this purpose in clima.ic conditions of Ta.f a.ea. Sa.di a.a.ia. The experimenta. unit which ha. a.surfa.e a.ea.of 0.5 m2, comprises a.sola./desicca.t collector unit conta.ning.sa.dy bed impreg.a.ed with ca.cium chloride. The sa.dy la.er impreg.a.ed with desicca.t is subjected to a.bient a.mosphere to a.sorb wa.er va.or in the nig.t. During.the sunshine period, the la.er is covered with g.a.s la.er where desicca.t is reg.nera.ed a.d wa.er va.or is condensed on the g.a.s surfa.e. a.bient tempera.ure, bed tempera.ure a.d tempera.ure of g.a.s surfa.e a.e recorded. a.so, the productivity of the system ha. been eva.ua.ed. Desicca.t concentra.ion a. sta.t of reg.nera.ion is selected on the ba.is of the clima.ic da.a.of a.-Ha.a.reg.on, which is loca.ed a. Ta.f a.ea. Sa.di a.a.ia. Experimenta. mea.urements show tha. a.out 1.0 liter per m2 of pure wa.er ca. be reg.nera.ed from the desicca.t bed a. the clima.ic conditions of Ta.f. Liquid desicca.t with initia. concentra.ion of 30% ca. be reg.nera.ed to a.fina. concentra.ion of a.out 44%. In this study, a. a.tificia. Neura. Network (a.N) model to predict the pressure drop of turbulent flow of tita.ium dioxide-wa.er (TiO2-wa.er) is presented. Experimenta. mea.urements of TiO2-wa.er under fully developed turbulent flow reg.me in pipe with different pa.ticle volumetric concentra.ions, na.opa.ticle dia.eters, na.ofluid tempera.ures a.d Reynolds numbers ha.e been used to construct the proposed a.N model. The a.N model wa. then tested by compa.ing.the predicted results with the mea.ured va.ues a. different experimenta. conditions. The predicted va.ues of pressure drop a.reed a.most completely with the mea.ured va.ues.
