Estima.ion Methodology of Short-term Na.ura. Rubber Price Foreca.ting Models

This study developed a.short-term econometric model of world na.ura. rubber price Sta.da.d Ma.a.sia.Rubber Gra.e 20 （SMR20）. Both single a.d simulta.eous equa.ions were utilized using monthly da.a.from Ja.ua.y 1990-December 2008 a. estima.ion period a.d da.a.from Ja.ua.y 2009-June 2009 wa. used a. a. ex-a.te foreca.t. The da.a.were tested for unit root a.d Vector Error Correction a.d co-integra.ion method wa. used to estima.e the pa.a.eters of the model. The models specifica.ions were developed in order to discover the inter-rela.ionships between NR production, consumption a.d prices of SMR20 a.d to determine foreca.t price of SMR20. Compa.a.ive a.a.ysis between the single-equa.ion specifica.ion a.d simulta.eous supply-dema.d a.d price equa.ion were ma.e in terms of their estima.ion a.cura.y ba.ed on RMSE, Ma. a.d （U-Thile） criteria. Ex-a.te foreca.ts wa. ca.ried out for the period of Ja.ua.y 2009-June 2009. The results revea.ed tha. the va.ues of the RMSE, Ma. a.d U of simulta.eous supply-dema.d a.d price equa.ions model were compa.a.ively sma.ler tha. the va.ues genera.ed by the single-equa.ion model. These sta.istics suggest tha. the simulta.eous equa.ion of supply-dema.d a.d price model is more a.cura.e a.d efficient mea.ure in terms of its sta.istica. criteria.tha. the single-equa.ion model in predicting the price of SMR20 in the next 6 months.

a.cha.ge tra.sfer hydrogen bonded complex between the electron donor (proton a.ceptor) 2-a.ino-4,6-dimethylpyridine with the electron a.ceptor (proton donor) chlora.ilic a.id ha. been synthesized a.d studied experimenta.ly a.d theoretica.ly. The sta.ility consta.t recorded high va.ues indica.ing the high sta.ility of the formed complex. In chloroform, etha.ol, metha.ol a.d a.etonitrile were found the stoichiometric ra.io 1:1. The solid complex wa. prepa.ed a.d cha.a.terized by different spectroscopy techniques. FTIR, 1H a.d 13C NMR studies supported the presence of proton a.d cha.ge tra.sfers in the formed complex. Complemented with experimenta. results, molecula. modelling using the density functiona. theory (DFT) ca.cula.ions wa. ca.ried out in the ga., chloroform a.d metha.ol pha.es where the existence of cha.ge a.d hydrogen tra.sfers. Fina.ly, a.good consistency between experimenta. a.d theoretica. ca.cula.ions wa. found confirming tha. the a.plied ba.is set is the suita.le one for the system under investiga.ion.
