Ma.nutrition is a.ma.or public hea.th problem in Ma.i, a.ong with the country’s politica. a.d security insta.ility. We initia.ed this work with the objective of determining the frequency a. well a. the risk fa.tors fa.oring the occurrence of ma.nutrition in children a.ed 6a.>a.> a.>a.>-a.>a.> a.>a.>59 months hospitalized in the pediatrics department of the Gabriel Touré University Hospital in Bamako, country reference service to identify potential interventions to plan. A cross-sectional study was carried out over a period of 4 months. A bivariate logistic regression analysis allowed us to identify risk factors with degree of significance if pa.>a.> a.>a.>0.05. During the study period, 2888 children were hospitalized, including 348 aged 6 to 59 months, or a frequency of 12.04%. One in two children was malnourished, ia.>a.>a.>.a.>a.>ea.>a.>.a.>a.>a. style="font-fa.ily:Verda.a.">a. style="font-fa.ily:Verda.a.">a. style="font-fa.ily:Verda.a."> a.frequency of 50%. Hypofra.tiona.ed ra.ia.ion thera.y ha. proven effective on locoregiona. control a.d tolera.ce in the a.juva.t trea.ment of brea.t ca.cer. The a.m of this study is to compa.e the results of hypofra.tiona.ed ra.ia.ion thera.y versus conventiona. ra.ia.ion thera.y in terms of loca. control a.d tolera.ce. It wa. a.retrospective study of pa.ients observa.ions collected from Ja.ua.y 2007 to December 2008 in Depa.tment of Ra.ia.ion Thera.y in Institut Na.iona. d’Oncologie de Ra.a.. The trea.ment results were eva.ua.ed by the ra.e of locoregiona. recurrence, dista.t recurrence a.d resea.ch of la.e toxicities. Ra.iothera.y wa. delivered using the sa.e technique in both groups, by ga.ma.photons of coba.t 60 with a. energy of 1.25 MeV. They were 2 groups: the first group trea.ed with sta.da.d dose ra.e a.d the second group trea.ed by hypofra.tiona.ed ra.ia.ion thera.y. The mea. a.e of the pa.ients wa. 42.8 ± 6.9 yea.s old in the sta.da.d group a.d 43.22 ± 7.2 yea.s old in the hypofra.tiona.ion group. We noted a.predomina.ce of infiltra.ing ducta. ca.cinoma. The ma.ority of pa.ients were pT2, pN0 a.d pN1. The ma.ority of pa.ients ha. ra.ica. surgery a.d chemothera.y with a.thra.yclines in both groups. We noted a.sta.istica.ly significa.t difference in the irra.ia.ion of chest wa.l between the sta.da.d (89.2%) a.d hypofra.tiona.ed group (70.3%), with p = 0.043. The media. dura.ion of ra.ia.ion thera.y wa. sta.istica.ly different in both groups: 39 da.s in the sta.da.d a.d 23 da.s in the hypofra.tiona.ed group (p 0.001). The loca. recurrences were sta.istica.ly identica. to 12 a.d 24 months (p = 0.999). Concerning toxicities, the frequency of a.verse event wa. simila. in both groups. Hypofra.tiona.ed ra.ia.ion thera.y with a.tota. dose of 42 Gy a. 2.8 Gy per fra.tion in 5 fra.tions weekly is compa.a.le to sta.da.d ra.iothera.y in terms of loca. control a.d tolera.ce a.d is therefore a.very good a.terna.ive to sta.da.d trea.ment.

The ca.e provided in the neona.a. period by ca.egivers in hea.th fa.ilities a.d by pa.ents in the community is essentia. for the surviva. of the newborn. Our work a.med to a.sess the pra.tice of essentia. ca.e for newborns a. the ma.ernity hospita. during the first six hours of life. Methodology: It wa. a.cross-sectiona. study, which took pla.e over a.period of six months a.d fifteen da.s (from a.ril 27 to November 12, 2020). We eva.ua.ed the pra.tice of immedia.e ca.e given to newborns over 32 weeks of a.enorrhea.by the hea.th personnel involved a.a.nst the recommenda.ions of the World Hea.th Orga.iza.ion (WHO) on essentia. newborn ca.e (ENC). Results: Our study involved 422 live newborns, which represented 22% of a.l live births. The sex ra.io wa. 1.2. The gesta.iona. a.e of newborns wa. 37 to 41Week of a.enorrhea.(Wa. in 69.2%. The ma.ority of births were performed by doctors specia.izing in gynecology a.d obstetrics, or 66.4% of ca.es. Midwives provided ca.e in 51.7% of ca.es. Out of 422 newborns, 408 were immedia.ely dried, 96.7% of the time. Less tha. ha.f (44.1% of newborns) ha. benefited from the la.e cord cla.ping. Eye ca.e wa. a.ministered to the va.t ma.ority of newborns (94.3% of ca.es). The brea.tfeeding technique wa. verified in only 2.8% of ca.es. Only 1.7% (7 newborns) were monitored during the first six hours of immedia.e postpa.tum. In the immedia.e post-pa.tum period, 18 newborns ha. problems tha. required trea.ment. NNS were correctly a.ministered in 39 newborns (9.2%). Conclusion: Our study shows ina.equa.ies in the pra.tice of essentia. ca.e for newborns within our ma.ernity. Thus, ma.y newborns ca. be sa.ed through the pra.tice of essentia. newborn ca.e (NHS) a. different levels of the hea.th pyra.id.

Objective: To study the pulmona.y complica.ions of ma.or sickle cell syndromes in children a.ed 6 months to 15 yea.s followed a. the Depa.tment of Pedia.rics of Ga.riel Toure University Hospita.. Ma.eria.s a.d methods: This wa. a.retrospective study from Ja.ua.y 1st, 2017 to Februa.y 28, 2018 a.d a.prospective study from Ma.ch 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019, concerning sickle cell disea.e children followed a. the Ga.riel Touré University Hospita.. a.l children with sickle cell disea.e confirmed by hemoglobin electrophoresis, a.ed 6 months to 15 yea.s with a.pulmona.y complica.ion a.d a.mitted to pedia.rics were included. Were not included: 1) Infa.ts a.d children with sickle cell disea.e not presenting a.pulmona.y complica.ion coming only to their routine follow-up. 2) Sickle cell pa.ients over 16 yea.s of a.e a.d those whose pa.ents do not consent. 3) Those who ha.e not done electrophoresis. Results: During the study period, we were a.le to include 45 sickle cell children with a.pulmona.y complica.ion. The frequency of pulmona.y complica.ions wa. 13.76%, involving homozygotes in 91.11% of ca.es. The a.e group 6 - 10 yea.s predomina.ed with 46.66% a.d the sex ra.io wa. 0.45. Va.o-occlusive crisis wa. the most frequent rea.on for consulta.ion with 35.56%. Respira.ory distress (80%), fever (66.67%), crepitus ra.es (64.44%) a.d chest pa.n (60%) were the most frequent clinica. signs. The ma.n pulmona.y complica.ion wa. a.ute chest syndrome with 86.67%. Trea.ment wa. ba.ed on hydra.ion (91.91%), a.a.gesics (91.91%) a.d a.tibiotics (73.33%). Letha.ity wa. 4.44%. Conclusion: Pulmona.y complica.ions of sickle cell disea.e a.e serious a.d constitute the ma.n ca.se of morta.ity in our context.

Objective: Pedia.ric ja.ndice is ca.sed by va.ious conditions. a.though some da.a.is a.a.la.le on this issue, da.a.from Ma.i is insufficient. The present retrospective observa.iona. study wa. a. a.tempt to determine the etiology of pedia.ric ja.ndice in the pedia.ric depa.tment of Ga.riel Touré tea.hing hospita. in Ba.a.o, Ma.i. Methods: We reviewed a.l pedia.ric pa.ients with ja.ndice who were hospita.ized a.d trea.ed in this depa.tment a.>during January 1 to December 31, 2016 (n = 168). Result: Pediatric jaundice patients accounted for 1.88% of the hospitalized patients, with median age of 6 years and male/female ratio being 1.6. Infectious, cholestatic, and hemolytic jaundice accounted for 75%, 11% and 10%, respectively. Malaria and sickle cell disease accounted for 67% and 9%, respectively. Hepatomegaly and splenomegaly were observed in 49 (29%) and 23 (13.7%) patients, respectively. Of 168, 9 patients died. Conclusion: Infectious jaundice, especially jaundice due to malaria, was the most frequent. However, variety of etiologies was observed, of which the practitioners should be awarea. style="font-fa.ily:Verda.a.">. The blood count is a. ea.ily a.hieva.le routine exa. a.d will it ha.e specifics in the event of a.neona.a. ba.teria. infection? Hence, the present study with the objective of determining the profile of the hemogra. of newborns hospita.ized for ea.ly ba.teria. neona.a. infection. Ma.eria. a.d methods: This wa. a.cross-sectiona. study tha. took pla.e from June 27 to September 03, 2016 in the neona.ology depa.tment of tea.hing hospita. Ga.riel Toure. Included were a.l neona.es hospita.ized for ea.ly neona.a. ba.teria. infection (ENBI) a.d who ha. a.blood count. Results: We included 227 pa.ients, 64.8% of whom were prema.ure. The sex ra.io wa. 1.4. The infa.ts were less tha. 24 hours old in 93.6% of the ca.es. The mea. hemoglobin level wa. 16.435 g/dl [8.8 - 22.26]. Erythrocytopenia.wa. found in 18.5% of ca.es. a.emia.wa. present in 17% of newborns. The a.era.e leukocyte wa. 15.228·103/mm3 [1.4 - 72]. Hyperleukocytosis a.d leukopenia.were found in 12.32% a.d 6.6% respectively. Neutropenia.a.d lymphopenia.were present in 14.5% a.d 30.8%. There wa. a.correla.ion between leukocytosis of nega.ive blood cultures (23/27) (p = 0.030). For Neutrophils, neutrophilia.wa. more observed in term neona.es a.d neutropenia.in prema.ure infa.ts (p = 0.03). Monocytosis wa. present in 13.6% of ca.es. One qua.ter (25.5%) of newborns ha. thrombocytopenia. Conclusion: Hema.ologica. va.ia.ions did not a.low a.specific profile of newborns hospita.ized for ea.ly neona.a. ba.teria. infection to be identified.

Cervica. ca.cer rema.ns a.ma.or public hea.th problem in a.rica. pa.ticula.ly in Ma.i. The goa. of this work wa. to investiga.e the epidemiologica. a.d clinica. a.pects of cervix ca.cer seen a. the ra.ia.ion thera.y center. This wa. a.descriptive study on the retrospective collection of da.a.on pa.ients found in the Ra.ia.ion Thera.y Centre of Ba.a.o, for inva.ive cervica. ca.cer be-tween a.ril 2014 a.d a.ril 2017. The a.era.e a.e of our popula.ion wa. 52 ± 12.5 yea.s with extremes ra.ges from 18 to 95 yea.s. The most represented a.e group wa. [50 - 65 yea.s] with 44.2%. The predomina.t histologica. type wa. squa.ous ca.cinoma.(CE) with 94.2%. Bleeding were found in a.most a.l pa.ients, most often a.socia.ed with foul smelling hydrorrhea.80.3% of our pa.ients were sta.e III a.d 12.9% of sta.e IV a.cording to the IFGO cla.sifi-ca.ion. Cervix ca.cer rema.ns a.ma.or public hea.th problem in Ma.i. The di-a.nosis is often la.e, therefore, resulting in la.e ca.e a.d unfa.ora.le progno-sis. Sensitiza.ion, vulga.iza.ion of va.cina.ion a.d systema.iza.ion of screen-ing could be helpful in the fight a.a.nst this ca.cer.

Objective: The a.m of our work wa. to a.cess the epidemiologica. a.d clinica. a.pects of congenita. hydrocepha.us in the pedia.rics depa.tment of Ga.riel Touré tea.hing Hospita. Ba.a.o. Methods: We conducted a.retro a.d prospective study tha. ra. from Ja.ua.y, 1st 2018 to July, 30, 2019. a.l newborns of 72 hours of life or less with hydrocepha.us confirmed by sonogra.hy or CT sca. were enrolled in this study. Results: During the study period, 5416 pa.ients were hospita.ized in the neona.ology depa.tment. a.ong them, 39 pa.ients (0.72%) presented congenita. hydrocepha.us a.d congenita. infectious ca.ses a.counted for 25.6%. The sex ra.io (M/F) wa. 1.78. Mothers were housewives a.d not educa.ed in 79.5% a.d 64.1% respectively. The pa.ents resided outside Ba.a.o in 61.5% of ca.es. Prena.a. consulta.ions were conducted in 32 pa.ients (82%). Consa.guinity between the 2 pa.ents wa. present in 38.5%. The a.tena.a. dia.nosis wa. ma.e in 8 pa.ients (20.5%). Va.ina. delivery wa. the ma.n mode of birth (67%). The a.era.e birth weight wa. 2930 g (1000 to 5400 g) a.d the a.era.e hea. circumference wa. 37.82 cm (26 - 55 cm). In 87.2% of ca.es, newborns were eutrophic. The ma.n clinica. signs were bulging a.terior fonta.el (46.2%), sunset ga.e (20.5%), prominent forehea. (48.7%), reduced fa.e (20.5%), enla.ged cra.ia. sutures (43.6%), ma.rocra.ia.(25.6%). Tra.sfonta.ella. ultra.ound a.d CT sca. were performed in 51.3% a.d 48.7% of ca.es respectively. a.socia.ed ma.forma.ions were spina.bifida.in 30.8% of ca.es followed by Da.dy Wa.ker ma.forma.ion (5.1%), a.d ompha.ocele (2.5%). The neurologica. signs were diminished neona.a. reflexes (51.3%), hypotonia.(30.8%), motor deficit (38.4%), intra.ra.ia. hypertension (25.6%), seizures 10.25% a.d psychomotor dela. (43.6%). Surgery wa. performed in 8 neona.es (20.5%). Ventriculo-peritonea. shunt (VPB) wa. the ma.n trea.ment. Postopera.ive complica.ions were infectious (37.5%) a.d mecha.ica. complica.ions (12.5%). Birth is the tra.sition from feta. life to ectopic life. This tra.sition is usua.ly smooth. Only 10% of newborns will need birth a.sista.ce. Successful resuscita.ion is linked to the skills of the hea.th worker. It is to a.sess their skills tha. this work wa. underta.en with the objective of eva.ua.ing the pra.tice of neona.a. resuscita.ion in the delivery room of the RHC ma.ernity hospita. in District V of Ba.a.o. Methodology: This wa. a.descriptive cross-sectiona. study over a.four-month period. We included in the study a.l live newborns who ha. a.gesta.iona. a.e grea.er tha. or equa. to 32 weeks a.d who ha. a. a.ga. score a. the first minute of less tha. 7. a. ea.h birth, we observe the hea.th a.ent responsible for the ca.e of the newborn by observing the prepa.a.ion of resuscita.ion a.d complia.ce with the neona.a. resuscita.ion a.gorithm. We ha.e excluded a.l newborns who met our inclusion criteria. were rea.ima.ed outside of our collection time a.d ha. visible or dia.nosed a.oma.ies or ma.forma.ions in the prena.a. period, a.d those whose pa.ents refused to give their consent to pa.ticipa.e in the study. Da.a.were collected from the survey sheet a.d a.a.yzed with the Sta.istica. Pa.ka.e for Socia. Sciences (SPSS) softwa.e version 25. Results: We observed a.24.66% frequency of neona.a. resuscita.ion. Pregna.cies were too close in 15% (less tha. one yea.). Ca.sa.ea. section delivery represented 34% of the sa.ple. They were a. term in 93% of ca.es. a.l newborns were well dried (98.5%), with wet linen cha.ge only a. 49.5%. a.ga. wa. less tha. 3 in 7.5% of newborns a. first. The resuscita.ion needs were for the a.sence of a.screa. in 78.5% of ca.es a.d or hea.t ra.e Conclusion: The study eva.ua.ed neona.a. resuscita.ion pra.tices a. a.ma.ernity hospita. in Ba.a.o, Ma.i. It found a.24.66% resuscita.ion ra.e, with a.95.5% success ra.e despite technica. limita.ions. Most steps were correctly a.plied, though some improvements a.e needed in a.ea. like preventing hypothe
