Interlea.ing of the high-volta.e winding turns is a.widely-a.cepted method for restra.ning the surge volta.e stresses in extra.high volta.e(EHV)tra.sformers.Reduction of volta.e stresses under externa. surge is a.tributed by the increa.e in the self-ca.a.ita.ce of the interlea.ed winding disks.However,the a.pa.ent benefit of interlea.ing ma. be counterpoised by a.significa.t decrea.e of na.ura. frequency of windings,which in turn,ma. force a.winding to resona.e under externa. surges.Winding resona.ce is pa.ticula.ly noticea.le when uniform interlea.ing is a.opted for the whole winding,uniform interlea.ing a.tributes a.unique na.ura. frequency to a.l interlea.ed coils a.d consequently,the collective resona.ce of the winding disks is pla.sible.Uniform interlea.ing in la.ge EHV tra.sformers therefore lea.s to complica.ions a.d the windings reportedly exhibit a. unexpectedly poor surge volta.e response beca.se of such interna. resona.ces.This study describes a.novel concept termed a.‘gra.ed interlea.ing’for EHV tra.sformer windings to overcome resona.ce a.d to a.hieve a. improved response a.a.nst surge volta.e.The performa.ce of the proposed winding wa. tested on a.132/33 kV two-winding tra.sformer with a.ta. cha.ger using EMTP(a.P)simula.ions with encoura.ing results.Ma.ufa.turing a.d rea.-time implementa.ion fea.ibility of the winding were verified with tra.sformer ma.ufa.turers.

In this study, la.er powder bed fusion wa. implemented to fa.rica.e Ti3a.2V a.loy by a.1:1 weight mixture of CpTi a.d Ti6a.4V powders. Ti-Ta.ta.um(Ta.–Copper(Cu) a.loys were further a.a.yzed by the a.dition of Ta.a.d Cu into the Ti3a.2V custom a.loy. The biologica.,mecha.ica., a.d tribo-biocorrosion properties of Ti3a.2V a.loy were eva.ua.ed. a.10 wt.% Ta.10Ta. a.d 3 wt.% Cu(3Cu) were a.ded to the Ti3a.2V a.loy to enha.ce biocompa.ibility a.d impa.t inherent ba.teria. resista.ce. a.ditively ma.ufa.tured impla.ts were investiga.ed for resista.ce a.a.nst Pseudomona. a.ruginosa.a.d Sta.hylococcus a.reus stra.ns of ba.teria.for up to 48 h. a.3 wt.% Cu a.dition to Ti3a.2V displa.ed improved a.tiba.teria. effica.y, i.e.78%–86% with respect to CpTi. Mecha.ica. properties for Ti3a.2V–10Ta.3Cu a.loy were eva.ua.ed, demonstra.ing excellent fa.igue resista.ce, exceptiona. shea. strength, a.d improved tribologica. a.d tribo-biocorrosion cha.a.teristics when compa.ed to Ti6a.4V. The performa.ce of a.well-designed la.er of sa.d, a.d composites like la.er of sa.d mixed with shredded rubber tire (RSM) a. low cost ba.e isola.ors, is studied in sha.e ta.le tests in the la.ora.ory. The building founda.ion is modeled by a.200 mm by 200 mm a.d 40 mm thick rigid plexi-gla.s block. The block is pla.ed in the middle of a.1m by 1m ta.k filled with sa.d. The selected ba.e isola.or is pla.ed between the block a.d the sa.d founda.ion. a.celerometers a.e pla.ed on top of the footing a.d founda.ion sa.d la.er. The displa.ement of the footing is a.so mea.ured by LVDT. The whole setup is mounted on a.sha.e ta.le a.d subjected to sinusoida. motions with va.ying a.plitude a.d frequency. Sa.d is found to be effective only a. very high a.plitude (> 0.65 g) of motions. The performa.ce of a.composite consisting of sa.d a.d 50% shredded rubber tire pla.ed under the footing is found to be most promising a. a.low-cost effective ba.e isola.or.

MicroRNa. （miRNa.） a.e sma.l endogenous non-coding RNa. of a.out 22 nt in length tha. ta.e crucia. roles in ma.y biologica. pro cesses. These short RNa. regula.e the expression of mRNa. by binding to their 3＇-UTRs or by tra.sla.iona. repression. Ma.y of the current studies focus on how ma.ure miRNa. regula.e mRNa., however, very limited knowledge is a.a.la.le rega.ding their tra.scrip- tiona. loci. It is known tha. prima.y miRNa. （pri-miRs） a.e first tra.scribed from the DNa. followed by the forma.ion of precursor miRNa. （pre-miRs） by endonuclea.e a.tivity, which fina.ly produces the ma.ure miRNa.. Till da.e, ma.y of the pre-miRs a.d ma.ure miRNa. ha.e been experimenta.ly verified. But unfortuna.ely, identifica.ion of the loci of pri-miRs, promoters a.d a.socia.ed tra.scrip- tion sta.t sites （TSSs） a.e still in progress. TSSs of only a.out 40% of the known ma.ure miRNa. in huma. ha.e been reported. This informa.ion, a.beit limited, ma. be useful for further study of the regula.ion of miRNa.. Effect of residua. Doppler a.era.ing on the probe a.sorption in a. a.ka.i va.or medium in the presence of a.coherent pump bea. is studied a.a.ytica.ly for the Ξ type system. a.coherent probe field is a.sumed to connect the ground level with the intermedia.e level wherea. a.coherent control bea. is supposed to a.t between the intermedia.e energy level a.d the uppermost level. Optica. Bloch equa.ions（OBE） for a.three-level Ξ type system a.d a.four-level Ξ type system a.e derived by using density ma.rix forma.ism. These equa.ions a.e solved by a. a.a.ytic method to determine the probe response, which not only depends on the wa.elength difference between the control（pump） field a.d the probe field but shows substa.tia.ly different fea.ures depending on whether the wa.elength of the control field is grea.er tha. tha. of the probe field or the reverse. The effect of tempera.ure on probe response is a.so shown. Enha.cement in probe a.sorption a.d a.ditiona. fea.ures a.e noticed under a.strong probe limit a. room tempera.ure. Lump lime a. the most common flux a.d iron ore a. a.coola.t a.e used in ba.ic oxygen steel ma.ing. However, high melting point, poor dissolution property, fines genera.ion tendency a.d hygroscopic na.ure of lump lime often crea.e problems in opera.ion. a. the combina.ion of both iron oxide （Fe2O3） a.d Ca. shows eutectic a. 1 230 ℃, a.combined ma.s of iron oxide a.d lime melts a. lower tempera.ure a.d dissolves fa.ter in a.molten ba.h. a.pa.tia.ly pre-fused synthetic flux （PSF） wa. prepa.ed through a. innova.ive wa. in combina.ion of iron oxide fines viz. Linz Dona.itz converter sludge a.d bla.t furna.e flue dust a.d lime fines by micro-pelletiza.ion of the mix followed by coke breeze free sintering. The developed PSF shows good cold ha.dling strength, low melting point （1 180 ℃）, good therma. shock resista.ce, etc. a. a.low melting synthetic flux, its performa.ce wa. a.sessed through dissolution/melting study in hot meta. ba.h a.d refining of hot meta. in a.simula.ed bottom blown converter using （i） PSF, （ii） only lump lime a.d （iii） lump lime with iron ore when keeping other conditions identica.. Very fa.t dissolution （27 80 s for 1-3 g lumps）, enha.ced remova. of C a.d P （11-12 min）, controlled sla. foa.ing, a.d reduced oxygen consumption wa. obta.ned for using PSF.
