Stem density a.d size stra.ifica.ion of woody species a.e informa.ive of vegeta.ion conditions a.d its physiognomy in sa.a.na. wherea. their va.ia.ion influence woody popula.ion functioning. Current study endea.oured to eva.ua.e the sta.d density a.d size va.ia.ility of woody species rela.ed to a.oveground b.oma.s in a.Suda.ia. sa.a.na.. Tota. height, stem dia.eter a. b.ea.t height (db.) ≥ 5 cm were mea.ured in 30 plots of 50 m a.>a.>× 20 m laid in respect to vegetation type as bowal, shrubland and woodland. Species diversity, stem density, height and basal area were calculated and compared across sites and variation in stem dbh classes evaluated. Total aboveground biomass was estimated and thereafter linear relationships were established between stand density and aboveground biomassa.>a.>a.>,a.>a.> and basal area. Results revealed three different sites with an overall 58 species identified through vegetation type including liana species (4 stems in bowal) with 18 genera and 42 families. Fabaceae Combretaceae, Anacardiaceae and Rubiaceae were dominant families. Small sized trees represented 72% of total stem density considered in structure with significant higher basal area, while large sized trees as 28% were scarcely distributed. More than 70% variation in biomass wa.>a.>as a.>a.>a.>a.>a. style="font-fa.ily:"">due to stem density a.d b.0}a. a.ea.with a.domina.ce of sma.l trees. In conclusion increa.e size in tree community indica.ed increa.e in a.cumula.ed a.oveground b.oma.s a. positive regenera.ion fea.ures. b.t, cha.ge in vegeta.ion structure strongly influence nega.ively species a.ility to grow from lower to upper size cla.s a.d la.er on, disrupt ecosystem functioning. The diversity, a.unda.ce a.d height structure of na.ura.ly regenera.ed woody species were a.a.yzed a.d compa.ed for undergrowth reservoir a.socia.ed with vegeta.ion pa.ches a. b.wa., shrub.a.d a.d woodla.d for understa.ding the effect of vegeta.ion conditions on spa.ia. distrib.tion of woody pla.ts in Suda.ia. ecosystem. a.l undergrowth individua.s (height b. species a.d the tota. height a.d colla. dia.eter were mea.ured in 50 sub.lots of 5 m × 5 m (or 25 m2) la.d out in ea.h vegeta.ion pa.ch during ra.ny sea.on. In tota. 52 undergrowth species a.d 2224 stems a.ra.ged in 38 genera.a.d 21 fa.ilies out of which 25, 36 a.d 38 species were found in b.wa., shrub.a.d a.d woodla.d respectively a.d 15 sha.ed species. Comb.eta.ea., Ca.sa.pinia.ea. a.d Mimosa.ea. fa.ilies were the most a.unda.t a.d species density wa. significa.tly higher (P b.a.d a.d woodla.d tha. b.wa., a.d increa.e diversity in only shrub.a.d (P = 0.002) compa.ing with b.wa.. Undergrowth wa. a.unda.tly concentra.ed in sma.l height cla.s a. ca.opy b.nefit a.d indica.e a.specific-site distrib.tion. Results a.so showed tha. b.wa. ha. a.pa.ticula. vegeta.ion which va.y in function of tree community cha.a.ters in pla.e (P a.d a.d shrub.a.d a.e simila. vegeta.ion pa.ches. a. conclusion, the study vegeta.ion pa.ches form suita.le regenera.ion niches for the undergrowth reservoir of limited numb.r of species which in return ca. b. predictor of species richness a.d a.unda.ce a.d thus the structure of tree community. Woody undergrowth community could b. considered in b.odiversity ma.a.ement a.d degra.ed la.d restora.ion.
