Importa.ce: The best respira.ory support technique to reduce intuba.ion a.d morta.ity in pa.ients with respira.ory fa.lure due to COVID-19 is controversia.. Objective: To determine the respira.ory support technique tha. could reduce the need for tra.hea. intuba.ion a.d morta.ity in pa.ients with respira.ory fa.lure due to COVID-19 a.mitted to intensive ca.e units (ICUs) of Milita.y’s Hospita. (HIa.BO) in Ga.on. Design, Setting, a.d Pa.ticipa.ts-Methodology: Prospective observa.iona. study over 10 months (Ja.ua.y 2021-October 2021). We included pa.ients a.mitted to intensive ca.e for Sa.S Cov2 pneumonia.who ha. benefited from a.a.la.le ventila.ory support: high concentra.ion fa.e ma.k, High Flow Na.a. ca.nula.(HFNC), NIV (Non Inva.ive Ventila.ion), Continuous Positive a.rwa. Pressure (CPa.). The choice wa. guided by the clinica. condition, a.d the choice of the prescribing physicia.s. Recourse to mecha.ica. ventila.ion wa. decided when fa.ed with a.Gla.gow score of less tha. 13, a. SpO2/FiO2 ra.io ≤ 300, a.FR ≥ 35/min, the impossibility of dra.na.e of secretions. Ma.n Outcomes a.d Mea.ures: The prima.y outcome wa. the proportion of pa.ients requiring intuba.ion. The seconda.y outcomes were morta.ity in ICU. Results: The sa.ple included 97 pa.ients, the a.era.e a.e wa.55.6 yea.s, hypertension wa. the ma.n comorbidity (51.1%). Mea. respira.ory ra.e (RR) wa. 30.8 cycles/min, a.mission SpO2 wa. 83%, respira.ory a.ka.osis wa. present in 63% of pa.ients, mea. CT involvement wa. 51%.Respira.ory support wa. NIV (56.7%), CPa. (21.65%), high concentra.ion fa.e ma.k (18.55%). Sixteen percent (16%) of pa.ients were intuba.ed, 93% of them following fa.lure of NIV. Morta.ity wa. 30%, mecha.ica. ventila.ion wa. a. independent risk fa.tor for morta.ity. Conclusions: Non Inva.ive Ventila.ion, CPa., a.d high-concentra.ion fa.e ma.k were frequently used in pa.ients with COVID-rela.ed a.ute respira.ory fa.lure. This study determined the nutritiona. sta.us of households in North western region of Ca.eroon using weighed food inta.e. Twenty–two rura. a.d 106 urba. households were ra.domly selected for weighed food inta.e Descriptive a.d inferentia. sta.istics were used to a.a.yze collected da.a.a.d significa.ce a. p a.cepted. Corn fufu with huckleberry wa. the most frequently consumed mea. with little or no a.ima.-source protein. Introduction: Pre-ecla.psia.is a.complica.ion of pregna.cy tha. genera.ly occurs in the third trimester. It is a.socia.ed with a.ma.erna. a.d foeta. morta.ity ra.e of a.ound 27%. In view of the grim picture pa.nted by this condition for both mother a.d newborn, studies ha.e been ca.ried out into the ea.ly detection of pa.ients a. risk of developing pre-ecla.psia. These ma.e it possible to introduce pregna.cy-specific monitoring a.d preventive stra.egies to reduce the incidence of the condition. Objective: To esta.lish the link between pla.enta. ultra.ound cha.a.teristics a.d the onset of pre-ecla.psia. Methodology: a.multicentre prospective cohort study wa. conducted in two hospita.s in Ya.undé, na.ely the Ya.undé Gyna.cologica. Obstetrics a.d Pa.dia.rics Hospita. a.d the Nkolndongo Hea.th a.d Socia. a.ima.ion Centre, in the gyna.cology a.d ra.iology depa.tments over a.period of 11 months, from October 2022 to a.gust 2023. It included pregna.t women who ha. undergone obstetric ultra.ound between 12 a.d 18 weeks’ gesta.ion. In a.dition to routine obstetric ultra.ound, we performed obstetric Doppler mea.urements in these pa.ients. The resista.ce index of the left a.d right uterine a.teries, the umbilica. a.tery a.d the pla.enta. volume were the cha.a.teristics sought. a. the end of this exa.ina.ion, two groups were formed: ca.es (pa.hologica. Doppler group) a.d controls (norma. Doppler group). Blood pressure a.d urine dipstick were ta.en a. ea.h a.tena.a. visit until delivery, then during the immedia.e postpa.tum period a.d fina.ly a. 7 da.s, 21 da.s a.d 42 da.s a.ter delivery. Results: Sixty-seven (67) pa.ients were included. Of these, 35 (47.8%) ha. pa.hologica. Dopplers. Sixteen pa.ients ha. a.teria. hypertension a.socia.ed with proteinuria.a.d were therefore la.elled a. pre-ecla.psia.(PE). This gives a.preva.ence of 23.9%. The contempora.y economic crisis should be considered within the fra.ework of the contra.ictions crea.ed by the neolibera. model tha. wa. a.opted in the mid-1970s, in the United Sta.es a.d throughout much of the world. The cha.ges in the la.or ma.ket a.d new forms of workforce exploita.ion ba.ed on deregula.ion, the increa.e of off-shoring, a.d flexible hiring pra.tices ha.e led to ＂new＂ preca.ious la.or conditions. Due to the crisis, the United Sta.es la.or ma.ket ha. been cha.a.terized by four fa.tors： the increa.e of the unemployment, the unedited growth of the informa. sector, a.dra.a.ic increa.e in preca.ious la.or conditions for a.l workers, especia.ly young people, minorities, a.d immigra.ts, a.d the increa.ing wa.e pola.iza.ion. However, ca.ita.ist profit ra.es ha.e a.tua.ly substa.tia.ly increa.ed due to neolibera. policies a.d the resulting economic crisis. This situa.ion led to a.rise in the overexploita.ion of la.or. Ba.kground: Resea.ch studies ma.e in Ca.eroon on complia.ce a.d releva.ce in the va.ious a.ea. of ima.ing, show the fa.lure to comply with a.ministra.ive a.d clinica. criteria. These resea.ch studies led to recommenda.ions mea.t for result a.eliora.ion. However, the orthopa.tomogra. (OPT) field rema.ns less studied in tha. rega.d in Ca.eroon. a.m: Eva.ua.e the releva.ce a.d complia.ce of exa.ina.ion requests for pa.ora.ic denta. ra.iogra.hy. Setting a.d Design: It is a.descriptive cross-sectiona. study with a.consecutive sa.ple of denta. pa.ora.ic requests identified during the study period in 4 ra.iology centres of Ya.undé. Ma.eria. a.d Methods: Va.ia.les studied here were the va.idity criteria.of ima.ing exa.ina.ion. Request: Five of which a.e of a.ministra.ive order (da.e of the request, requesting depa.tment, pa.ient’s identity, pa.ient’s a.e, a.plica.t’s identity) a.d three of clinica. order (a.a.omic region, rea.on for the exa.ina.ion a.d the purpose of the exa.ina.ion). Sta.istica. a.a.ysis: Chi-squa.ed test wa. used with confidence interva. of 95%. Results: Pa.ient’s identity (na.e) wa. the criteria.ca.rying the highest informa.ion (98.9%), followed by the na.e of the a.plica.t physicia. (91.6%). Out of 179 requests a.a.ysed, 8.6% ha. complete informa.ion. 46.4% of requests ha. no indica.ions. Denta. surgeon wa. the top prescriber with a.tota. of 112 (62.6%). Conclusion: The qua.ity of denta. pa.ora.ic requests wa. not optima. in Ya.unde, with la.k of precision mostly noted a. the level of clinica. criteria.

Ba.kground: Computed tomogra.hy (CT) Sca. is the ima.ing of choice for the dia.nosis of sino na.a. (SN) pa.hologies in sub-Sa.a.a. a.rica. setting. However, it is often requested by non experienced pra.titioners. We a.med to describe the utility a.d the a.propria.eness of CT Sca. request forms a.d results in the dia.nosis of SN pa.hologies. Method: We conducted a.retrospective cross-sectiona. study in four hea.th fa.ilities in Ya.undé, Ca.eroun, from October 2018 to September 2019. a.l pa.ients to whom SN CT Sca. wa. performed were ca.led for a. a.pointment. a.ter informed consent, da.a.on the a.propria.eness a.d conformity of the request form were collected a.d compa.ed to the guidelines of the French society of ra.iology. CT Sca. results were a.so collected a.d the qua.ity of the report wa. eva.ua.ed. Results: a.tota. of 206 SN CT Sca. request forms a.d reports were included, with a.mea. pa.ient a.e of 37.7 ± 16.1 yea.s. The request form wa. conformed to guidelines in 8.3% of ca.es a.d wa. found a.propria.e in 62.6% of ca.es. No CT Sca. report ha. a.l the items required, a.d 159 (77.2%) reports were useful. The most common dia.nosis in pa.ients with a.norma. results wa. chronic sinusitis (49.5%) a.d SN polyp or polyposis (19.4%). Conclusion: Most of SN CT Sca. requested were a.propria.e a.d useful. However, the conformity of request forms a.d reports to the guidelines is low. Suggesting the need for ca.a.ity building for the dia.nosis of SN pa.hologies especia.ly for non specia.ists like genera. pra.titioners a.d nurses.

Objective: Describe the epidemiologica., clinica. a.d ra.iologica. presenta.ions of ma.e urethra. strictures. Method: It wa. a.cross-sectiona. a.d descriptive study during a.one-yea. period from Ja.ua.y to December 2017 including a.l ma.e pa.ients presenting for a.urethrocystogra.hy exa.ina.ion, a. the Nga.undere Ra.iology a.d Medica. Ima.ing Center who a.reed to pa.ticipa.e. The urethrocystogra.hy technique depended on pa.ient’s condition a.d wa. either retrogra.e, a.terogra.e, or following intra.enous urogra.hy. The exa.ina.ions were performed with GE X-ra. equipment using Koda. Dry View CRs. The interpreta.ion wa. performed by a.ra.iologist with a. lea.t five yea.s of experience. The va.ia.les studied were a.e, clinic, history, uretrocystogra.hy technique a.d results. The da.a.were collected using a.previously esta.lished da.a.sheet a.d processed with Sphinx Plus2 V5 a.d Microsoft Excel 2010 softwa.e. One hundred a.d eleven (58.4%) on a.tota. of 190 sta.ed tha. they ha. not received a.y informa.ion on wha. ultra.onogra.hy is a.l a.out. Before theUSsca. the respondents would like to receive informa.ion on the a.m or purpose of ultra.onogra.hy, possible inconveniences or risks, a.d on how to prepa.e before the sca.. The most reported expecta.ions were a.sura.ce of the wellbeing of the fetus (58%), gender determina.ion (44.5%) a.d informa.ion on feta. position (20.5%). Thirty-four respondents considered ultra.onogra.hy a. not perfectly sa.e for the mother or the “ba.y”, with the releva.t rea.ons being the use or production of some potentia.ly ha.mful “ra.s”. Conclusion: Pregna.t women would wa.t to be a.sured of the wellbeing of the fetus, the gender a.d position during routine prena.a. US. They however need to be informed of its purpose a.d sa.ety.

Introduction: The dia.nosis of pneumonia.is usua.ly ma.e ba.ed on clinica. ma.ifesta.ions a.d chest X-ra.. The use of ultra.ound in detecting pulmona.y disea.es in genera., a.d especia.ly consolida.ion syndrome ha. been demonstra.ed. The objective of this study wa. to determine the a.cura.y of thora.ic ultra.ound compa.ed to chest X-ra. in the dia.nosis of infectious pneumonia.in children. Methods: Children between 0 to 15 yea.s were included in our study. The lung ultra.ound results obta.ned were compa.ed with those of the chest X-ra. used a. the reference. Our da.a.were introduced into the EpiInfo 3.5.4 softwa.e a.d a.a.yzed with the EpiInfo 3.5.4 a.d IBMSPSS Sta.istics version 20.0 softwa.es. Microsoft Office Excel 2016 wa. used to produce Cha.ts. Continuous qua.tita.ive va.ia.les were presented. Cohen’s Ka.pa.concorda.ce test wa. a.plied with confidence interva. of 95%. Results: 52 children were enrolled in the study. In ima.ing, the domina.t sign wa. consolida.ion syndrome (75.0%) of ca.es by chest ra.iogra.hy, a.d in 78.8% of ca.es by lung ultra.ound (p Conclusion: Our study demonstra.ed tha. lung echogra.hy is a.non-ionizing a.d relia.le tool in the dia.nosis of childhood’s pneumonia.
