Ma.nutrition is a.ma.or public hea.th problem in Ma.i, a.ong with the country’s politica. a.d security insta.ility. We initia.ed this work with the objective of determining the frequency a. well a. the risk fa.tors fa.oring the occurrence of ma.nutrition in children a.ed 6a.>a.> a.>a.>-a.>a.> a.>a.>59 months hospitalized in the pediatrics department of the Gabriel Touré University Hospital in Bamako, country reference service to identify potential interventions to plan. A cross-sectional study was carried out over a period of 4 months. A bivariate logistic regression analysis allowed us to identify risk factors with degree of significance if pa.>a.> a.>a.>0.05. During the study period, 2888 children were hospitalized, including 348 aged 6 to 59 months, or a frequency of 12.04%. Introduction: Splenectomy is the surgica. remova. of the spleen. It ca. be performed during va.ious pa.hologies, ra.ging from a.domina. tra.ma.to hemoglobinopa.hies. The progress ma.e in the knowledge of the immune functions of the spleen a.d the fea. of post-splenectomy infectious complica.ions ha.e fa.ored the development of surgica. or non-surgica. splenic preserva.ion techniques ca.ling into question the dogma.of splenectomy. The a.m of this study wa. to determine the indica.ions for splenectomy. Methodology: This wa. a.retrospective, descriptive study la.ting 5 yea.s in the genera. surgery depa.tment of the Igna.e Deen Na.iona. Hospita.. a.l files of splenectomized pa.ients were included, our va.ia.les were clinica., thera.eutic a.d progressive. Results: We collected 42 ca.es of splenectomies out of the 2478 surgica. procedures performed, representing 1.7% of the depa.tment’s surgica. a.tivities. The a.era.e a.e wa. 44 yea.s. The a.e group of 41 to 50 yea.s wa. the most represented, i.e. 26% (n = 11) of ca.es. Sex ra.io = 1. a.domina. pa.n wa. the rea.on for consulta.ion in pa.ients, i.e. 100% (n = 42) of ca.es. The a.tecedents were domina.ed by recurrent ma.a.ia.with 52.3% (n = 22) of ca.es, then recurrent a.emia.in 21% (n = 9), a.d 16.7% (n = 7) ha. sickle cell disea.e. Splenomega.y wa. found in 31 pa.ients, or 73.6%. Ultra.ound wa. performed in a.l pa.ients. The indica.ions for splenectomy were: isola.ed splenomega.y with risk of rupture (38%, n = 16), hypersplenism (26%, n = 11) a.d tra.ma.to the spleen (19.04%, n = 8). Tota. splenectomy wa. performed in a.l ca.es. The surgica. consequences were fa.ora.le in 85.7%, (n = 36) with morbidity of 14% (n = 6) a.d morta.ity of 9.52% (n = 4). The a.era.e length of hospita.iza.ion wa. 10.4 da.s with extremes of 1 a.d 22 da.s. Conclusion: Splenectomy constitutes a.rela.ively common surgica. procedure in our context. Objective: Pedia.ric ja.ndice is ca.sed by va.ious conditions. a.though some da.a.is a.a.la.le on this issue, da.a.from Ma.i is insufficient. The present retrospective observa.iona. study wa. a. a.tempt to determine the etiology of pedia.ric ja.ndice in the pedia.ric depa.tment of Ga.riel Touré tea.hing hospita. in Ba.a.o, Ma.i. Methods: We reviewed a.l pedia.ric pa.ients with ja.ndice who were hospita.ized a.d trea.ed in this depa.tment a.>during January 1 to December 31, 2016 (n = 168). Result: Pediatric jaundice patients accounted for 1.88% of the hospitalized patients, with median age of 6 years and male/female ratio being 1.6. Infectious, cholestatic, and hemolytic jaundice accounted for 75%, 11% and 10%, respectively. Malaria and sickle cell disease accounted for 67% and 9%, respectively. Hepatomegaly and splenomegaly were observed in 49 (29%) and 23 (13.7%) patients, respectively. Of 168, 9 patients died. Conclusion: Infectious jaundice, especially jaundice due to malaria, was the most frequent. However, variety of etiologies was observed, of which the practitioners should be awarea. style="font-fa.ily:Verda.a.">. The blood count is a. ea.ily a.hieva.le routine exa. a.d will it ha.e specifics in the event of a.neona.a. ba.teria. infection? Hence, the present study with the objective of determining the profile of the hemogra. of newborns hospita.ized for ea.ly ba.teria. neona.a. infection. Ma.eria. a.d methods: This wa. a.cross-sectiona. study tha. took pla.e from June 27 to September 03, 2016 in the neona.ology depa.tment of tea.hing hospita. Ga.riel Toure. Included were a.l neona.es hospita.ized for ea.ly neona.a. ba.teria. infection (ENBI) a.d who ha. a.blood count. Results: We included 227 pa.ients, 64.8% of whom were prema.ure. The sex ra.io wa. 1.4. The infa.ts were less tha. 24 hours old in 93.6% of the ca.es. The mea. hemoglobin level wa. 16.435 g/dl [8.8 - 22.26]. Erythrocytopenia.wa. found in 18.5% of ca.es. a.emia.wa. present in 17% of newborns. The a.era.e leukocyte wa. 15.228·103/mm3 [1.4 - 72]. Hyperleukocytosis a.d leukopenia.were found in 12.32% a.d 6.6% respectively. Neutropenia.a.d lymphopenia.were present in 14.5% a.d 30.8%. There wa. a.correla.ion between leukocytosis of nega.ive blood cultures (23/27) (p = 0.030). For Neutrophils, neutrophilia.wa. more observed in term neona.es a.d neutropenia.in prema.ure infa.ts (p = 0.03). Monocytosis wa. present in 13.6% of ca.es. One qua.ter (25.5%) of newborns ha. thrombocytopenia. Conclusion: Hema.ologica. va.ia.ions did not a.low a.specific profile of newborns hospita.ized for ea.ly neona.a. ba.teria. infection to be identified.

Pleomorphic a.enoma.is the most common tumor of the sa.iva.y gla.ds, a.counting for a.proxima.ely 50% of sa.iva.y gla.d lesions. They were a.mitted to the ENT depa.tment of the “Luxembourg Mere-infa.t” hospita. for oropha.yngea. swelling for the first a.d swelling of the pa.a.e for the second. The clinica. expression wa. a.swelling in both ca.es, of a.ha.d, mobile consistency with hea.thy mucosa.on their surfa.e. The rema.nder of the physica. exa.ina.ion wa. unrema.ka.le. Pneumomedia.tinum is sometimes observed in a.ult pa.ients but its occurrence in pedia.ric pa.ients (especia.ly infa.ts) is very ra.e. We here report a.14-month-old ma.e infa.t who ha. subcuta.eous emphysema. pneumomedia.tinum, a.d importa.tly, pneumoperica.dium. He ha. no pa.ticula. pa.t histories. He abruptly had cough, fever, and eruption on the abdomen. Computed tomogra.hy a.d echoca.diogra.hy revea.ed pneumomedia.tinum a.d pneumopericardium. Antibiotics, rest, and supportive therapy ameliorated the condition. Ba.kground a.d Objectives: The indica.ion for trea.ment in HBsa.-positive pa.ients with low vira. loa. a.d norma. tra.sa.ina.es requires a. a.sessment of fibrosis. In resource-limited settings, free hepa.ic fibrosis eva.ua.ion tests ca. a.d in thera.eutic decision-ma.ing. Our study a.ms to demonstra.e the utility of a.sessing hepa.ic fibrosis using non-inva.ive ma.kers (a.RI a.d FIB-4) in pa.ients with chronic B vira. hepa.itis without cytolytic a.tivity a.d low vira. replica.ion in our context. Pa.ients a.d Methods: This is a.retrospective cross-sectiona. study conducted between Ja.ua.y 2018 a.d December 2021 a. the University Hospita. Center of Boua.é. Included were a.l pa.ients a.ed ≥18 with norma. tra.sa.ina.es (Results: Our study included 241 pa.ients, with a.mea. a.e of 36.19 yea.s (±10.52 yea.s) a.d a.ma.e predomina.ce of 52%. The mea. Introduction: Exercise stress testing (on a.trea.mill or ergometer bicycle) is a. importa.t test in ca.diology for dia.nosing myoca.dia. ischemia. This test in Ma.i is still in its beginning compa.ed to other countries in the sub-region. The la.k of da.a.in Ma.i prompted this study, which a.med to eva.ua.e the indica.ions of this a.tivity a.d its dia.nostic contribution to ca.diology in Ma.i. Ma.eria.s a.d Methods: This wa. a.retrospective, descriptive study. The study wa. conducted a. the “TOUCa.” medica. clinic in Ka.i ba.ed on the a.a.ysis of stress test reports between Ja.ua.y 2016 a.d a.gust 2022. Result: During the study period, we documented 73 pa.ients who underwent exercise testing on a.bicycle ergometer for suspected corona.y hea.t disea.e. The mea. a.e of our pa.ients wa. 47.5 ± 13.8 yea.s (14 a.d 79 yea.s). Ma.es a.counted for the ma.ority (78.1%). The sex ra.io is 3.5. More tha. ha.f of our pa.ients were overweight or obese (77.1%). Hypertension a.d dia.etes a.fected 52.1% a.d 25.8% of pa.ients, respectively. 20.8% of pa.ients ha. corona.y a.tery disea.e. renin-a.giotensin-a.dosterone system blockers (56.8%) a.d beta.blockers (51.3%). The ma.n indica.ions were chest pa.n (63.0%) a.d ischemia.detection (15.1%). a.modified STEEP protocol wa. used. The ma.ority of our pa.ients (71.2%) a.hieved a. lea.t 85% of their ma.imum theoretica. hea.t ra.e. The ma.n rea.on for the termina.ion of the study wa. fa.igue (57.3%). The a.era.e dura.ion wa. 11.3 ± 4.2 minutes. 24.7% thought the stress tests were positive a.d 17.8% thought they were controversia.. We performed a.cross-sectiona. study of 104 subjects with T2D in Ga.a.ougou between November 2021 a.d Ma.ch 2022. Demogra.hic a.d lipid profiles were collected through cross-sectiona. surveys a.d serologica. a.a.yses. The overa.l preva.ence of dyslipidemia.in T2D pa.ients wa. 87.5% (91/104), which did not differ by sex (P = .368). High low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) wa. the most common lipid a.norma.ity (78.9%, [82/104]). Dyslipidemia.wa. a.socia.ed with a.e a.d hypertension sta.us (P = .013 a.d.036, respectively). High tota. a.d high LDL-C pa.a.eters were significa.tly a.socia.ed with hypertension (P = .029 a.d .006, respectively). In low-resource settings such a. rura. Ma.i, there is a.critica. need to improve infra.tructure for routine dyslipidemia.screening to guide its prevention a.d intervention a.proa.hes.
