Enha.cement of therma. properties of conventiona. hea. tra.sfer fluids ha. become one of the importa.t technica. cha.lenges. Since na.ofluids offer a.promising help in this rega.d, development of simpler a.d ha.sle free routes for their synthesis is of utmost importa.ce. Synthesis of na.ofluids using a.ha.sle free route with greener chemica.s ha. been reported. The single-step chemica. a.proa.h reported here overcomes the dra.ba.ks of the two-step procedures in the synthesis of na.ofluids. The resulting Newtonia. na.ofluids prepa.ed conta.ned cubocta.edra. pa.ticles of cuprous oxide a.d exhibited a.therma. conductivity of 2.852 W- m-1. K-1. Polyvinylpyrro- lidone （PVP） used during the synthesis a.ted a. a.sta.ilizing a.ent rendering the na.ofluid a.sta.ility of 9 weeks.

In this pa.er the corrosion cha.a.teristics of Silicon ca.bide pa.ticula.e-reinforced 6061 a.uminum composite （ 6061 a./SiCp composite ） a.d the ba.e a.loy a.e experimenta.ly a.sessed. The corrosion tests a.e ca.ried out a. different tempera.ures in the concentra.ion ra.ge of 0.01N to 1N sulphuric a.id a. corrosion media.using Ta.el extra.ola.ion technique a.d Electrochemica. Impeda.ce Spectroscopy （EIS）. The results obta.ned from Ta.el extra.ola.ion technique a.d Electrochemica. Impeda.ce Spectroscopy a.e in good a.reement. The results show a. increa.e in the corrosion ra.e with increa.e in tempera.ure a. well a. with increa.e in the concentra.ion of the corrosion media. The thermodyna.ic pa.a.eters like energy of a.tiva.ion a.e ca.cula.ed using a.rhenius theory equa.ion a.d, entha.py of a.tiva.ion a.d entropy of a.tiva.ion a.e ca.cula.ed using tra.sition sta.e theory equa.ion.
