Nowadays it is known that the thermomechanical schedules applied during hot rolling of flat products provide the steel with improved mechanical *** this work an optimisation tool,OptiLam (OptiLam v.1),based on a predictive software and capable of generating optimised rolling schedules to obtain the desired mechanical properties in the final product is *** includes some well-known metallurgical models which predict microstructural evolution during hot rolling and the transformation austenite/ferrite during the ***,an optimisation algorithm,which is based on the gradient method,has been added,in order to design thermomechanical sequences when a specific final grain size is *** has been used to optimise rolling parameters,such as strain and ***,some of the results of the software validation performed by means of hot torsion tests are presented,showing also the functionality of the ***,the application of classical optimisation models,based on the gradient method,to hot rolling operations,is also discussed.

In this paper,the synthesis,structural evolution,and dielectric properties of BaTiO3solid solutions codoped with rare earth elements(Gd3+and Eu3+) prepared using the solid-state reaction method are *** pure precursor powders of BaCl3,TiO2,Gd2O3,and Eu2O3were mixed in stoichiometric proportions,ground in an agate mortar before being uniaxially pressed at 250 MPa and sintered at 1300℃ in air atmosphere for 6 h to obtain Ba1-3xGd2xTi1-3xEu4xO3（x=0,0.0015,0.01 and0.1）.X-ray diffraction（XrD） and rietveld's refinement results reveal the crystal phase ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO3for the samples with x=0,0.0015 and 0.01, as well as a consistent increment in the lattice parameters caused by the *** solubility limit of Gd3+and Eu3+in the BaTiO3structure is reached for the sample with x>0.01,and the orthorhombic Eu2TiO5and monoclinic BaTi2O5secondary phases were *** raman results show the characteristic peaks of ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO3around 716 cm-1（LO of A1 symmetry）,515 cm-1（TO of A1 symmetry）,and 305 cm-1（B1）.The maximum relative permittivity measured at 1 kHz was recorded to be 6151.8 for the sample with x=0.0015,and a decrease in the Curie temperature to 105℃ with respect to the undoped sample was *** punctual microanalysis for the samples with x=0.0015,0.01,and 0.1 reveals grains composed of Ba,Ti,O,Gd,and Eu homogeneously distributed in the *** Ba/Ti ratios for samples with x=0.0015,0.01 and 0.1 are 2.86,2.91,and 0.68,respectively,indicating substitution at the Ti site for samples with x=0.0015 and 0.01 and a substitution at the Ba site for the sample with x=0.1.

In this paper, a multi-objective particle swarm optimization （MOPSO） algorithm and a nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II （NSGA-II） are used to optimize the operating parameters of a 1.6 L, spark ignition （SI） gasoline engine. The aim of this optimization is to reduce engine emissions in terms of carbon monoxide （CO）, hydrocarbons （HC）, and nitrogen oxides （NOx）, which are the causes of diverse environmental problems such as air pollution and global warming. Stationary engine tests were performed for data generation, covering 60 operating conditions. Artificial neural networks （ANNs） were used to predict exhaust emissions, whose inputs were from six engine operating parameters, and the outputs were three resulting exhaust emissions. The outputs of ANNs were used to evaluate objective functions within the optimization algorithms： NSGA-II and MOPSO. Then a decision-making process was conducted, using a fuzzy method to select a Pareto solution with which the best emission reductions can be achieved. The NSGA-II algorithm achieved reductions of at least 9.84%, 82.44%, and 13.78% for CO, HC, and NOx, respectively. With a MOPSO algorithm the reached reductions were at least 13.68%, 83.80%, and 7.67% for CO, HC, and NOx, respectively.

A series of lanthanide materials of type LnOCl or Ln2O3(Ln = Eu, Nd) were successfully prepared via a convenient and straightforward two-step procedure. Firstly, and by using chitosan and PS-co-P4 VP as polymeric supports, macromolecular complexes of type chitosan ·LnCl3and PS-co-P4 VP·LnCl3 were prepared. These macro molecular complexes were treated in solid state at 800 ℃ under air, leading to the corresponding LnOCl or Ln2O3materials(Ln = Eu, Nd) with moderate to good yields. The nature of the asprepared lanthanide materials(LnOCl and/or Ln2O3) is strongly influenced by the polymeric template(i.e.,chitosan or PS-co-P4 VP), the lanthanide salt precursor, and the polymer/lanthanide molar ratio. Thus, when chitosan · EuCl3and PS-co-P4 VP·EuCl3are used as macromolecular precursors, a mixture of crystalline phases of both EuOCl and Eu2O3are obtained. However, when chitosan· NdCl3and PS-co-P4 VP· NdCl3are used, a sole pure crystalline phase of NdOCl is obtained. The nano structured lanthanide materials were characterized by means of XrD(X-ray diffraction of powder), SEM, EDS, TEM, and HrTEM. The luminescent spectra of the asprepared EuOCI/Eu2O3mixture materials show an emission pattern whose intensity is strongly influenced by the nature of the polymeric precursor, as well as on the metal/polymer molar ratios.

Clouds play a major role in modulating the biometeorological processes. We studied the influence of cloudiness on four biometeorological variables:daily air temperature(Tair), relative humidity(rH),reference evapotranspiration(ETr),and photosynthetic active radiation(PAr), recorded at four sites of Andean Páramos in southern Ecuador during 2.5 to 5.5 years. First, we quantified both the cloud cover percentage(Cloud%) creating cloud masks over the visible bands of Landsat 7 images and the sky condition(K_(T)) using the records of solar and extraterrestrial radiation. Second, we estimated KTfrom Cloud%. Finally, we quantified T_(air), rH, ET_(r), and PAr under clear, cloudy, and overcast K_(T) and their dependence on KT. The average Cloud% ranged between 65%–76%, and KTcorroborated the prevailing overcast sky(between 55% and 72.5% of the days) over the páramos. The proposed model performed well in the sites of calibration(r^(2)= 0.80;MBE = 0.00;rMSE = 0.05) and validation(r^(2)= 0.74;MBE =-0.07;rMSE = 0.11). The overcast sky diminished T_(air)(≤ 10℃), ET_(r)(≤ 1.6 mm day-1), and PAr(4 MJ m^(-2)day^(-1)) and increased rH(≥ 88%),while the variables showed the opposite behavior during the uncommon clear sky(≤ 5.5% of the days).Thus, mostly the dynamic of rH(r^(2)≥ 0.62), ETr(r^(2)≥ 0.85), and PAr(r2≥ 0.77) depended on K_(T). Hence,the prevailing overcast sky influenced the biometeorology of the páramos.
