Newcastle disease (ND) virus is a leading threat to commercial and domestic poultry in Pakistan. The virus infects and constitutes irreversible impairment to the nervous system, damages the respiratory system, and marks severe gastrointestinal lesions leading to heavy mortality in short-living birds and substantial losses in layers and breeders. The continuous emergence and evolution of the virus made it inclined to evade the humoral response and indirectly the circumvention of artificial active immunization. Newcastle disease is caused by the orthoavula genus of the paramyxoviridae family and has shown high genetic diversity even in their genotypes while information regarding enzootic trends of the virus is scanty in Pakistan. A total of 40 tracheal samples of NDV were collected from different commercial broiler farms and 11 isolates of NDV were identified. In the current study, we determined the genetic diversity of the Newcastle disease virus based on the partial sequencing of the fusion protein gene available in the NCBI database. Genetic analysis showed that seven isolates belonged to class I genotype VII and four belonged to class II genotype II. Interestingly, two isolates had epidemiological connections with vaccine-like class II genotype II. Our findings, concerning the recent outbreaks of class I genotype VII and class II genotype II of NDV in vaccinated commercial flocks, suggest possible potential partial mutations in the fusion protein gene. Genetic diversity and formation of the new cleavage site in an important neutralizing protein of wild strain are linked with the potency of artificial active immunization and a major cause of vaccine failure.

旋转防喷器(RBOP)是欠平衡钻井中必不可少的安全保障设备,其中胶芯是旋转防喷器(RBOP)的关键部件和密封单元,其密封性能决定了旋转防喷器(RBOP)的密封能力。研究了旋转防喷器胶芯的工作机理及故障,依据国家标准和专利建立了胶芯的三维模型。通过分析研究,选择了适合胶芯材料的本构模型Yeoh模型,通过橡胶材料的单轴拉伸试验所获得的实验数据,使用ABAQUS软件拟合出本构模型的待定系数;在ABAQUS软件中建立钻杆与胶芯接触的三维力学模型,研究计算在不同井压下,钻杆与胶芯之间的接触压力大小和变形情况,得到了不同井口压力下,胶芯密封压力的变化规律——当井口压力逐渐增加时,胶芯内锥面开始发生变形,变形随压力的增加而增大,同时,内锥面和主密封面接触发生应力集中的现象;分析了井口压力为0时,钻杆接头通过胶芯内孔时,胶芯接触压力情况,得到了接触压力在胶芯内锥面各个节点的变化规律,为胶芯的失效分析和设计制造提供了理论依据。

ANN-based empirical modelling of pile behaviour under static compressive loading

Artificial neural networks have been widely used over the past two decades to successfully develop empirical models for a variety of geotechnical problems. In this paper, an empirical model based on the product-unit neural network (PUNN) is developed to predict the load-deformation behaviour of piles based SPT values of the supporting soil. Other parameters used as inputs include particle grading, pile geometry, method of installation as well as the elastic modulus of the pile material. The model is trained using full-scale pile loading tests data retrieved from fHWA deep foundations database. from the results obtained, it is observed that the proposed model gives a better simulation of pile load-deformation curves compared to the fleming’s hyperbolic model and t-z approach.

Estimating moment capacity of ferrocement members using self-evolving network

In this paper, an empirical model based on self-evolving neural network is proposed for predicting the flexural behavior of ferrocement elements. The model is meant to serve as a simple but reliable tool for estimating the moment capacity of ferrocement members. The proposed model is trained and validated using experimental data obtained from the literature. The data consists of information regarding flexural tests on ferrocement specimens which include moment capacity and cross-sectional dimensions of specimens, concrete cube compressive strength, tensile strength and volume fraction of wire mesh. Comparisons of predictions of the proposed models with experimental data indicated that the models are capable of accurately estimating the moment capacity of ferrocement members. The proposed models also make better predictions compared to methods such as the plastic analysis method and the mechanism approach. further comparisons with other data mining techniques including the back-propagation network, the adaptive spline, and the Kriging regression models indicated that the proposed models are superior in terms prediction accuracy despite being much simpler models. The performance of the proposed models was also found to be comparable to the GEP-based surrogate model.

针对国外生产的一款旋转防喷器,使用三维造型软件中望3D建立该型号旋转防喷器的三维实体模型;将底座外壳体三维实体模型导入ANSYS软件中,通过有限元分析,求解出了外壳体的应力强度分布情况,设定两条路径分别进行等效线性化,获得了两条路径上的一次整体薄膜应力、一次局部薄膜应力、一次弯曲应力、二次应力和峰值应力,校核了旋转防喷器底座外壳体的强度;通过ANSYS WorkBench仿真平台对底座外壳体进行了优化设计,获得了底座外壳体的优化参数。

Infrared absorption spectra of orange, black and transferred Sb//2S//3 samples have been studied in the spectral range 200-4000 cm** minus **1. The pronounced difference between the different samples is the appearance of excess sulphur present in the orange and transferred samples except those of transferred at 543 K and the black Sb//2S//3. The change of sharpness of some IR peaks reveals the amorphous/crystalline change. The effect of the degree of crystallinity and stoichiometry on the energy gap values was investigated by using optical method. The obtained dielectric parameters epsilon prime and epsilon double prime of the different samples are thoroughly affected by the degree of crystallinity and smoothly affected by either the frequency or the temperature or both, except at lower frequencies. The PVT-air solar system simultaneously generates electrical and thermal ***,increasing the cost-effectiveness of the system requires an appropriate choice of key parameters such as mass flow rate and air channel *** this paper,a PVT-air kit of a single module with a 30°slope was used to measure photovoltaic electricity and air heating power in the city of Sfax,***,a computer method was implemented using the ANSYS fluent 17.0 software and the MATLAB program to analyse the properties of the airflow and to characterise PVT-air yields under different mass flow rates and *** the comparison of numerical and experimental data,the numerical method was validated with a good ***,we have found that increasing of the airflow rate improves the thermal efficiency with a slight change on electrical ***,the reduction in depth shows an improvement on thermal efficiency and a negligible effect on electrical ***,we have presented the thermal and electrical performance of PVT-air as a function of the key parameters with the Hottel-Whillier-Bliss formulation.

The Role of Electrocardiogram DETERMINE Score in Prediction of Coronary Artery Disease Severity

Background: A major cause of mortality and disability on a global scale is myocardial infarction (MI). These days, the most reliable way to detect and measure MI is via cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). Aims and Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of the Electrocardiogram DETERMINE Score in predicting the severity of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients who have experienced an Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) & to assess improvements in left ventricular function at 6 months following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Subjects and Methods: This Observational cohort study was done at the Cardiology and Radiology department and cardiac surgery department, Al-Azhar university hospitals and Helwan University hospital. The study involved 700 cases who patients diagnosed with Acute Myocardial Infarction and fulfilled specific criteria for selection. Result: There was highly statistically significant relation between Myocardial infarction size and ECG Marker Score as mean infarct size elevated When the number of ECG markers increased. There was a highly statistically significant relation between myocardial infarct segments, myocardial infarction size and improvement of cardiac function 6 months post-CABG. Conclusion: The study found that larger myocardial infarctions corresponded with higher DETERMINE Scores. It concluded that an ECG-based score better estimates infarct size than LVEf alone. Additionally, there was a significant statistical correlation between the size and segmentation of myocardial infarction and better cardiac function six months after CABG.
