Effects of Agro-Ecological Practices on the Productivity of Orange-Fleshed Sweet Potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam) and Soil Fertility in the Sudano-Sahelian Zone of Burkina Faso

This study consisted to evaluate the effects of ecological practices on the yield performance of the JEWEL of orange-fleshed sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam). The study was conducted in a Sudano-Sahelian cropping system (Lantargou, eastern region of Burkina Faso). Agro-ecological practices consisted of the inputs of 3.20 t/ha of compost + 2.45 t/ha of wood ash (CO + WA);4.90 t/ha of wood ash (WA);6.40 t/ha of compost (CO) were compared to control with no inputs (T0). Each treatment was repeated four times. The crop management consisted of plowing, harrowing, raising of ridges with 40 cm height, burying of treatments, transplanting of cuttings, two weeding’s, and using of biopesticide called PIOL for crop protection. Composite soil samples per treatment were also collected at tuber harvest and analyzed to determine the effects of treatments on residual soil fertility. Results showed that the plant heights and diameters under the CO were significantly (P 0. The WA treatment significantly increased the number of large tubers by 43% (P ≤ 0.01) compared to T0. Total tuber numbers, large tuber numbers and tuber yields of sweet potato under CO + WA were significantly (P 0. All treatments increased soil organic matter, N, P and K contents, and reduced soil acidity compared with those obtained under T0. Soil K content was improved by 39% under CO + WA, and soil N content by 34% under WA compared to T0. Soil C/N ratio under CO + WA was reduced by 20% compared others treatments. But, the CO + WA treatment outperformed by improving residual soil N content by 38%, and the WA treatment by increasing soil K content by 50% compared to T0. Heterotopic pancreatic tissue in the gastric cardia: A case report and literature review

The heterotopic pancreas, which is usually described as an untypical presence of pancreatic tissue without any anatomic or vascular continuity with the pancreas, is relatively rare. Clinical manifestations may include bleeding, inflammation, pain and obstruction; however, in most cases it remains silent and is diagnosed during autopsy. Here, we report a case of ectopic pancreatic lesion located in the gastric cardia. The patient was a 73-year-old woman who had a history (over four months) of chronic epigastric pain accompanied by heartburn. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed inflammatory changes throughout the stomach and lower esophagus, as well as a flat polypoid mass with benign features located in the gastric cardia, approx. 10 mm below the “Z” line, measuring approx. 7 mm in diameter. Endoscopic biopsy forceps were used to remove the lesion. Histological examination of the lesion revealed the presence of heterotopic pancreatic tissue in the gastric mucosa. On the basis of the presented case, we suggest that pancreatic ectopia should be a part of differential diagnosis, not only when dealing with submucosal gastric lesions, but also with those that are small, flat and/or untypically located.

Effects of anions on the biosorption of microelement cations by macroalga Enteromorpha prolifera in single-and multi-metal systems

The results of research on the effects of anions on the biosorption of microelement cations by the edible marine macroalga Enteromorpha prolifera in singleand multi-metal systems are discussed in this paper. It was shown that the maximum biosorption capacity (qmax) in a single-metal system of Co(II) ions decreased in the following sequence: Cl- (46.0 mg g-1) > SO42- (42.8 mg g-1) > NO3- (41.9 mg g-1). In multi-metal systems, in which the ratios of Cl-, NO3-, and SO42- were 0:0:4, 1:1:2, 3:0:1, and 4:0:0, there were clear differences among the biosorption capacities. In all the examined systems (other than the 0:0:4 system), inhibition of the binding of microelement cations by the macroalga was observed. In all the systems, the highest value of qmax was obtained for Cu(II) cations; the value ranged from 31.9 mg g-1 in 0:0:4 (SO42- only) to 18.2 mg g-1 in 4:0:0 (Cl-only).

Perioperative steroid administration reduces overall complications in patients undergoing liver resection:A meta-analysis

Time of the Energy Emission in the Hydrogen Atom and Its Electrodynamical Background

The time of the energy emission between two neighbouring electron levels in the hydrogen atom has been calculated first on the basis of the quantum aspects of the Joule-Lenz law, next this time is approached with the aid of the electrodynamical parameters characteristic for the electron motion in the atom. Both methods indicate a similar result, namely that the time of emission is close to the time period of the electromagnetic wave produced in course of the emission. As a by-product of calculations, the formula representing the radius of the electron microparticle is obtained from a simple combination of the expressions for the Bohr magnetic moment and a quantum of the magnetic flux.

Two Problems of Time Entering Respectively the Relativistic Mechanics and Electron Transport in Quantum Theory

In the relativistic mechanics, we calculate a minimal distance between the time scale of a one-dimensional motion having a larger velocity and the time scale of a similar motion with a lower velocity. Concerning the quantum theory, we demonstrate that mechanical parameters entering the electron motion in the Bohr hydrogen atom can provide us with a correct size of the time interval entering the Joule-Lenz law for the emission energy between two neighbouring quantum levels of the atom.

Relativistic Reduction of the Electron-Nucleus Force in Bohr’s Hydrogen Atom and the Time of Electron Transition between the Neighbouring Quantum Energy Levels

The aim of the paper is to get an insight into the time interval of electron emission done between two neighbouring energy levels of the hydrogen atom. To this purpose, in the first step, the formulae of the special relativity are applied to demonstrate the conditions which can annihilate the electrostatic force acting between the nucleus and electron in the atom. This result is obtained when a suitable electron speed entering the Lorentz transformation is combined with the strength of the magnetic field acting normally to the electron orbit in the atom. In the next step, the Maxwell equation characterizing the electromotive force is applied to calculate the time interval connected with the change of the magnetic field necessary to produce the force. It is shown that the time interval obtained from the Maxwell equation, multiplied by the energy change of two neighbouring energy levels considered in the atom, does satisfy the Joule-Lenz formula associated with the quantum electron energy emission rate between the levels.

BACKGROUND Follicular lymphoma is an indolent lymphoma that may progress to a highly aggressive form requiring *** regimens utilize rituximab,an anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody,which may affect the clinical course of novel coronavirus,severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infections[coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)].Here we describe the first case of mild COVID-19 during ongoing oncological treatment without significant deterioration after rituximab *** SUMMARY A 74-year-old female with an enlargement of her right palatine tonsil was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma following tonsillectomy and started immunochemotherapy according to the rituximab,cyclophosphamide,vincristine,prednisone *** home before the fourth cycle,she developed nonspecific symptoms(excessive fatigue,loss of appetite and nausea),misdiagnosed as adverse effects of ***,interim positron emission tomography-computed tomography scan,performed shortly before rituximab administration,revealed previously nonexistent pulmonary changes,potentially of infectious ***-CoV-2 infection was confirmed by a nasopharyngeal swab(with reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction test)performed the following *** rituximab infusion,the patient remained oligosymptomatic and was discharged home for *** reached a negative SARS-CoV-2 status before the subsequently scheduled regimen,the patient successfully received six cycles of rituximab,cyclophosphamide,vincristine,prednisone and obtained complete remission by positron emission tomographycomputed *** Our case shows that rituximab-based immunotherapy due to follicular lymphoma may have no evident negative effect on the COVID-19 clinical course.
