The formal asymptotic analysis of D. Fox, A. Raoult & J.C. Simo[10] has justified the twodimensional nonlinear "membrane" equations for a plate made of a Saint Venant-Kirchhoff *** model, which retains the material-frame indifference of the original three dimensional problem in the sense that its energy density is invariant under the rotations of R3, is equivalent to finding the critical points of a functional whose nonlinear part depends on the first fundamental form of the unknown deformed *** author establishes here, by the inverse function theorem, the existence of an injective solution to the clamped membrane problem around particular forces corresponding physically to an "extension" of the membrane. Furthermore, it is proved that the solution found in this fashion is also the unique minimizer to the nonlinear membrane functional, which is not sequentially weakly lower semi-continuous.

This paper gives all the two-dimensional membrane models obtained from formal asymptotic analysis of the three-dimensional geometrically exact nonlinear model of a thin elastic shell made with a Saint Venant-Kirchhoff material. Therefore, the other models can be quoted as flexural nonlinear ones. The author also gives the formal equations solved by the associated stress tensor and points out that only one of those models leads, by linearization, to the "classical" linear limiting membrane model, whose justification has already been established by a convergence theorem.

＜正＞POU domain genes have been shown to play critical roles in the development of the nervous system. We have obtained a new member of the class ⅢPOU domain genes, qBrn-la, from the cDNA library of embryonic day 5 quail, and made an extensive expression pattern analysis of qBrn-la and qBrn-2 throughout the early embryonic development by in situ hybridization. Further analysis by immunohistochemistry with a specific antibody we prepared showed that the location of qBrn-la protein is consistent with that of the transcripts in the early developing quail.
