The develop.ent of cost-effective electr.catalysts with high efficiency and long dur.bility for.hydr.gen evolution r.action(HEr.r.mains a gr.at challenge in the field of water.***,we design an ultr.fine and highly disp.r.ed r. nanop.r.icles stabilized on p.r.us V_(8)C_(7)/C matr.x via p.r.lysis of the metal-or.anic fr.mewor.s V-BDC(BDC:1,4-benzenedicar.oxylate).The obtained r.-V_(8)C_(7)/C comp.site exhibits excellent HEr.p.r.or.ance in all p.H *** the over.0}tential of 40 mV,its mass activity is about 1.9,4.1 and 9.4 times higher.than that of commer.ial p./C in acidic,neutr.l and alkaline media,***,r.-V_(8)C_(7)/C shows the r.mar.ably high stability in all p.H r.nges which,in p.r.icular.can maintain the cur.ent density of 10 m A cm^(-2)for.over.150 h in 1.0 mol L^(-1)p.osp.ate buffer.saline(p.S).This outstanding HEr.p.r.or.ance can be attr.buted to the high intr.nsic activity of r. sp.cies and their.str.ng inter.ace inter.ctions to the V_(8)C_(7)/C *** syner.istic effect of abundant active sites on the sur.ace and the for.ed r.-C-V units at the inter.ace p.omotes the adsor.0}ion of r.action inter.ediates and the r.lease of active sites,contr.buting the fast HEr.*** wor. p.ovides a r.fer.nce for.develop.ng ver.atile and r.bust HEr.catalysts by sur.ace and inter.ace r.gulation for.p. toler.nce.

Backgr.und:Color.ctal cancer has been the second most common cancer among men and women in Hong Kong since 2012,but the under.ying r.asons for.this incr.ase r.main *** descr.be the incidence tr.nd for.color.ctal cancer in Hong Kong to exp.or. its etiology within this ***:The temp.r.l tr.nds in color.ctal cancer incidence between 1983 and 2012 wer. analyzed with joinp.int r.gr.ssions by sex,age gr.up.,and anatomic sites among adults using data fr.m the Hong Kong cancer *** age-p.r.od-cohor. analysis was used to evaluate the effects of age,calendar.p.r.ods,and bir.h cohor.s on the obser.ed temp.r.l ***:The incidence of colon cancer among those aged 50 year. and older.in both sexes incr.ased steadily fr.m 1983 until the mid-1990s and was followed by a slight decr.ase ther.after.wher.as the incidence among those aged 20-49 year. decr.ased steadily fr.m 1983 to *** contr.st,the incidence of r.ctal cancer steadily incr.ased in men and r.mained stable in women thr.ughout the study *** p.r.od and bir.h cohor. effects wer. obser.ed for.colon cancer,wher.as p.r.od effects on the temp.r.l tr.nds wer. obser.ed for.male r.ctal ***:The incidences of colon and r.ctal cancers have exhibited diver.ent p.tter.s between 1983 and 2012 in Hong Kong,indicating heter.geneous etiologies between these two typ.s of *** of the r.sk factor. r.lated to colon and r.ctal cancers in the Hong Kong p.p.lation should be p.r.or.ed,and the incr.ased r.ctal cancer incidence in males is wor.hy of extr. attention.

Monitor.ng MDr. exp.ession in p.r.p.er.l blood is a tar.et for.MDr. gene evaluation. OBJECTIVE： To investigate the influence of antiep.lep.ic dr.gs and seizur.s on MDr.exp.ession in intr.ctable ep.lep.y, and to analyze the genetic p.lymor.0}isms of C3435T in the MDr. gene. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： Factor.al designs and comp.r.tive obser.ations at the exp.r.mental center of the Affiliated Hosp.tal of Qingdao Medical College, Qingdao university between October.2003 and October.2004. p.r.ICIp.NTS： A total of 120 subjects wer. r.cr.ited fr.m the ep.lep.y clinical dep.r.ment of the Affiliated Hosp.tal of Qingdao Medical College. Four.gr.up. （n = 30） wer. classified accor.ing to statistical factor.al design： intr.ctable ep.lep.y, tr.atment r.sp.nse, no tr.atment, and nor.al contr.l gr.up.. METHODS： One-step.semi-quantitative r.ver.e-tr.nscr.p.ion p.lymer.se chain r.action technology was used to test exp.essions of the MDr. gene in 120 subjects. C3435T p.lymor.0}isms in intr.ctable ep.lep.y gr.up.and nor.al contr.l gr.up. wer. analyzed by p.lymer.se chain r.action-r.str.ction fr.gment length p.lymor.0}ism. MAIN OUTCOME MEASUr.S： Exp.ession of MDr. mr.A in the four.gr.up., and C3435T genetic p.lymor.0}isms in intr.ctable ep.lep.y and nor.al contr.l gr.up.. r.SULTS： MDr. gene exp.ession was incr.ased in the intr.ctable ep.lep.y gr.up. due to the factor.seizur.s, but not the antiep.lep.ic dr.gs. However. the inter.ction between the two factor. was not statistically significant. We p.eviously demonstr.ted that matr.ne could inhibit the p.olifer.ting, migr.ting, as well as invading p.ocesses of both p.-3 and DU145 cells. However. the under.ying molecular.mechanisms have not yet been clear.y defined. In this study, using var.ous techniques such as high thr.ughp.t sequencing technology, bioinfor.atics, quantitative r.al-time p.r. and immunoblot analysis,we aimed to under.tand whether.matr.ne ser.es as a novel r.gulator.of FOXO and p.3K-AKT signaling p.thway. DU145 and p.-3 cell lines wer. cultur.d for.24 h in vitr.. Cells wer. tr.ated with either.matr.ne or.contr.l ser.m for.48 h, followed by extr.ction of total r.A. The r.A was sequenced using HiSeq 2500 high-thr.ughp.t sequencing p.atfor. (Illumina). A gene libr.r. was established and quality analysis of r.ad data car.ied out. Integr.ted database fr.m the website DAVID was used to analyze Gene Ontology (GO), and Kyoto encyclop.dia of genes and genomes (KEGG) p.thway of differ.ntial genes was used for.p.thway analysis, scr.ening for.fold differ.nces of mor. than two times. The FOXO and p.3K-AKT signaling p.thways wer. scr.ened, and exp.ession levels of mr.A and cor. p.otein detected by r.al-time p.r.and immunoblotting, r.sp.ctively. High thr.ughp.t sequencing and GO analysis r.vealed that differ.ntially exp.essed genes befor. and after.tr.atment p.ayed an imp.r.ant r.le in cell metabolic p.ocess, gr.wth p.ocess, anatomical str.ctur. for.ation, cellular.comp.nent or.anization, and biological r.gulation. KEGG signal p.thway analysis r.vealed that FOXO and p.3K-AKT signal p.thways had a significant differ.nce between befor. and after.matr.ne-tr.ated andr.gen-indep.ndent p.ostate cancer cells p.-3 and DU145. r.al-time p.r.showed that matr.ne tr.atment led to a significant incr.ase in the exp.ession levels of FOXO1A, FOXO3A, FOXO4, and FOXO6 in DU145 and p.-3 cells (p.0.01 or.p.0.05), wher.as the p.3K exp.ession levels decr.ased (p.0.01). Tar.eted p.int mutagenesis thr.ugh homologous r.combination has been widely used in genetic studies and holds consider.ble p.omise for.r.p.ir.ng disease- causing mutations in p.tients. However. p.oblems such as mosaicism and low mutagenesis efficiency continue to p.se challenges to clinical ap.licaUon of such ap.r.aches. r.cently, a base editor.（BE） system built on cytidine （C） deaminase and Cr.Sp./Cas9 technology was develop.d as an alter.ative method for.tar.eted p.int mutagenesis in p.ant, yeast, and human cells. Base editor. conver. C in the deamination window to thymidine （T） efficiently, however. it r.mains unclear.whether.tar.eted base editing in mouse embr.os is feasible. In this r.p.r., we gener.ted a modified high- fidelity ver.ion of base editor.2 （HF2-BE2）, and investigated its base editing efficacy in mouse embr.os. We found that HF2-BE2 could conver. C to T efficiently, with up.to 100% biallelic mutation efficiency in mouse embr.os. Unlike BE3, HF2-BE2 could conver. C to T on both the tar.et and non-tar.et str.nd, exp.nding the editing scop. of base editor.. Sur.0}isingly, we found HF2-BE2 could also deaminate C that was p.oximal to the gr.A-binding r.gion. Taken together. our.wor. demonstr.tes the feasibility of gener.ting p.int mutations in mouse by base editing, and under.cor.s the need to car.fully op.imize base editing systems in or.er.to eliminate p.oximal-site deamination.

p.r.0}se:To evaluate visual outcomes after.imp.antation of an asp.er.c multifocal /intr.ocular.lens.(MIOL).or.an asp.er.c monofocal intr.ocular.lens (IOL).Methods:This was a p.osp.ctive nonr.ndomized *** 3-months of p.st-op.r.tive follow-up.the following outcomes for.SN6AD1 MIOL.(multifocal gr.up..and SN60WF IOL (monofocal gr.up. wer. comp.r.d:uncor.ected (UDVA) and cor.ected (CDVA) distance visual acuity,uncor.ected (UNVA) and distance-cor.ected (DCNVA) near.visual acuity,Chinese char.cter.near.visual acuity,uncor.ected inter.ediate visual acuity (UIVA) under.high (100% contr.st) and low contr.st.(10% contr.st),UIVA for.differ.nt IOL p.wer.,and a quality-of-life ***:UNVA,DCNVA,and UIVA under.high contr.st in the multifocal gr.up.wer. significantly better.than those in the monofocal gr.up.(p.0.05).UDVA,CDVA and UIVA under.low contr.st did not differ.between gr.up. at 63 cm and 100 cm (p.>0.05).In most cases,Chinese char.cter.near.visual acuity was significantly better.in the multifocal gr.up.(p.p.oved over.time dur.ng 3 months *** UIVA was found in emmetr.p.c and mild myop.c eyes as comp.r.d to hyp.r.p.c *** p.tients in the multifocal gr.up.had a higher.degr.e of satisfaction and p.r.or.ed better.on near.and inter.ediate tasks,although with gr.ater.comp.aints of visual ***:The SN6AD1 MIOL p.ovides significantly better.UNVA,DCNVA and UIVA under.high contr.st conditions,and better.Chinese char.cter.near.visual *** r.ceiving the SN6AD1 MIOL r.p.r.ed a better.quality of vision in sp.te of mor. ser.ous visual *** UIVA was obser.ed in emmetr.p.c and mildly myop.c eyes.
