A quantitative study was undertaken on diatoms from cores(SA08-34) obtained from the southwestern continental slope of the South china Sea(SCS).A total of 16. diatom species belonging to 45 genera were *** constructed a stratigraphic subdivision and correlation according to the characteristics of diatom assemblages together with 14C dating and carbonate *** also discuss the sedimentary environment in the sea area since the last glacial *** research shows that the diatom assemblages coincide with inter-glacial and glacial times,and changes in diatom abundance reflect the instability of the climate in the southern part of the SCS,such that shortterm,temperature descending events correlate with the interglacial *** abundance of diatoms is relevant to interglacial and glacial times,since high abundance values were associated with an interglacial interval,and low abundance values with the last glacial *** assume that strong upwelling developed in the interglacial interval,the development of which was influenced by variations of monsoons in the East Asian region.

In this paper,we investigate the quantum correlation of coupled qubits which are initially in maximally entangled mixed states in a squeezed vacuum *** compare and analyze the effects of squeezed parameters on quantum discord and quantum *** results show that in a squeezed vacuum reservoir,the quantum discord and quantum concurrence perform with completely opposite behaviors with the change of squeezed *** discord survives longer with the increase of squeezed amplitude parameter,but entanglement death is faster on the *** results also indicate that the classical correlation of the system is smaller than quantum discord in a vacuum reservoir,while it is bigger than quantum discord in a squeezed vacuum *** quantum discord and classical correlation are more robust than quantum concurrence in the two reservoir environments,which indicates that the entanglement actually is easily affected by decoherence and quantum discord has a stronger ability to avoid decoherence in a squeezed vacuum reservoir.

The structure of RE-Ag alloy was observed and analyzed using electron probe. The property changes of the alloy containing two rare earth elements AgLaY during cold forming and the high temperature softening-resistance during annealing were studied using Vickers hardness tester. The distribution and action of the rare earth elements in Ag-alloy were also analyzed. Experimental results show that AgLaY alloy has more remarkable work-hardening effect than AgLa and pure silver, and it also has better thermal-resistance. The effects of RE elements, La and Y, on the properties of Ag-alloy are attributable to their symbiotic distribution and complementary function. Because of the common properties of La and Y as RE elements, they have the completely similar distribution in Ag-alloy. At the same time, La and Y make full use of complementary role in the alloy since they belong to different periods in periodic table and have differences in atomic structure and properties.

This article, taking Shanghai as an example, is to discuss: a general view of Shanghai's environment; the present situation and characteristics of cancer in Shanghai; analyses of the environmental factors of some kinds of cancers. The paper emphasizes the relationship between the environment and cancer in Shanghai, especially the environmental pollution and cancer. The aim of the article is not only to call people's concern to the pollution , but also to study the causes of some cancers.

AIM: To investigate the anti-apoptotic effect of transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGF-β1) on chronic ocular hypertension. METHODS: The expression of TGF-β1 in retinal ganglion cells (RCGs) was measured using the immunohistochemiscal S-P method and real-time PCR in the normally control group, the ocular hypertension group (experimental group A), the ocular hypertension plus antibody intervention group (experimental group B) and the ocular hypertension plus antigen intervention group (experimental group C) at 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks postoperatively. The count of apoptotic RCGs was measured using the TUNEL method. RESULTS: The expression of TGF-β1 was significantly higher in experimental group C than that in other three groups (P<0.05). The expression was the lowest in experimental group B (4.17%). A statistically significant difference was noted between the four groups (P <0.01). The count of apoptotic RCGs was statistically significantly lower in experimental group C than that in the experimental groups A and B (P <0.01). A statistically significant difference was noted in the count of apoptotic RCGs between these three experimental groups (P <0.01). CONCLUSION: TGF-β1 can inhibit the apoptosis of RCGs in rats with chronic ocular hypertension.

Guided elastic-wave-inspection technique for hollow cylinders has received plenty of attention in recent years because of its high effciency and low cost. To apply guided elastic waves to defects detection, it is necessary to investigate the propagation of guided waves in the hollow cylinders under all kinds of boundary conditions. In this paper, the dispersion equations of torsional, longitudinal and flexural guided waves in the hollow cylinders with traction-free and clamped lateral boundaries are derived by elastodynamic theory, based on which the phase and group velocity dispersion curves of the guided waves mentioned above are obtained. And the dispersion properties of these waves are discussed in detail. The transient wave in a free-clamped hollow cylinder is simulated by the finite element method (FEM). The time-frequency distribution of the transient wave agrees well with the theoretical group velocity dispersion curves.

In this paper, taking the 2+1-dimensional sine-Gordon equation as an example, we present the concatenating method to construct the multisymplectic schemes. The method is to discretizee independently the PDEs in different directions with symplectic schemes, so that the multisymplectic schemes can be constructed by concatenating those symplectic schemes. By this method, we can construct multisymplectic schemes, including some widely used schemes with an accuracy of any order. The numerical simulation on the collisions of solitons are also proposed to illustrate the efficiency of the multisymplectic schemes.

Pulping production process produces a large amount of wastewater and pollutant emitted, which has become one of the main pollution sources in pulp and paper industry. To solve this problem, it is necessary to implement cleaner production by using modeling and optimization technology. This paper studies the modeling and multi\|objective genetic algorithms for continuous digester process. First, model is established, in which environmental pollution and saving energy factors are considered. Then hybrid genetic algorithm based on Pareto stratum\|niche count is designed for finding near\|Pareto or Pareto optimal solutions in the problem and a new genetic evaluation and selection mechanism is proposed. Finally using the real data from a pulp mill shows the results of computer simulation. Through comparing with the practical curve of digester,this method can reduce the pollutant effectively and increase the profit while keeping the pulp quality unchanged.
