Tolerance of Physocypria kraepelini (Crustacean, Ostracoda) to water-borne ammonia, phosphate and pH value

This study evaluated the median lethal concentration （LC50） and safe concentration of water-borne ammonia, phosphate and pH value on Physocypria kraepelini, a freshwater Ostracoda with a static renewal test system. The results indicated that the LC50 values of ammonia for P. kraepelini were 1026.71, 859.98, 771.79 and 583.82 mg/L at 24, 48, 72 and 96.h exposure, respectively, and the safe concentration range of ammonia for the long-term survival of P. kraepelini was less than 58.38 mg/L. The safe range of pH value for the survival of P. kraepelini was from 6.59 to 7.6.. P. kraepelini has a high tolerance to ammonia, phosphate and pH value which are the main environmental factors in the serious eutrophication water.

The low-abundantly expressed genes composed the majorities of the mRNAs expressed in the central nervous system (CNS), and were thought to be important for the normal brain functions. Through differential screening a low-abundance cDNA sublibrary with mRNA from neuropathic pain of chronic constriction injury (CCI) model, we have identified a novel rat gene, rat spinal-cord expression protein 4 gene (RSEP4). The total length of RSEP4 cDNA is 2006.bp, with a 501 nucleotide open reading frame (ORF) that encodes a 16. amino acid polypeptide. Northern blot revealed that RSEP4 was expressed specifically in the CNS. In situ hybridization showed that the mRNA of RSEP4 was strongly expressed in the CA1, CA2, CA3 and DG regions of hippocampus, the Purkinje cells of cerebellum, and the small sensory neurons of dorsal horn and large motor neurons of ventral horn of spinal cord. Over-expression of RSEP4-EGFP fusion protein in the human embryonic kidney 293T cells showed that RSEP4 protein was mainly localized in the cell cytoplasm. These results suggest that RSEP4 may play some roles in the CNS.

This paper studies the ioteraction of shock and gradient wave (sound wave) of solutions to the system of inviscid isentropic gas dynamics as a model for the corresponding problems for nonlinear hyperbolic systems. The problem can be reduced to a boundary value problem in a wedged domain. By using the method of constructing asymptotic solutions and Newton’s iteration process it is proved that if a weak shock hits a gradient wave, then the grandient wave will split into two gradient waves, while the shock continuses propagating. In this paper the author reduces the problem to a standard form and constructs asymptotic solution of the problem. The existence of the genuine solution will be given in the following paper.

The averaging of Hamilton_Jacobi equation with fast variables in viscosity solution sense in infinite dimensions is studied. It is proved that viscosity solution of the original equation converges to viscosity solution of the averaged equation and this result is applied to study the limit problem of the value function for optimal control problem with fast variables.

In this paper,we study two-dimensional Riemann boundary value problems of Euler system for the isentropic and irrotational Chaplygin gas with initial data being two constant states given in two sectors respectively,where one sector is a quadrant and the other one has an acute vertex *** prove that the Riemann boundary value problem admits a global self-similar solution,if either the initial states are close,or the smaller sector is also near a *** result can be applied to solving the problem of shock reflection by a ramp.

Suppose that Z1 , Z2,’’’ Zn are independent normal random variables with common meanμ and variance σ2. Then S2 and have distribution andtn-1 distribution respectively. If the normal assumption fails, there will be the remaindersof the distribution functions and density functions. This paper gives the direct expansions ofdistribution functions and density functions of S2 alld T up to o(n-1). They are more intuitiveand convenient than usual Edgeworth expansions.
